Paul Hartman from CCM 1-844-272-9533  but shows up as a resricted # has been calling and harassing me since 6/20/14 to try and find my old roommate who I haven't spoke to in 2 years. I explained to him to leave me alone and that I'm disabled and haven't seen the person who he's looking for in a very long time. That hasn't stopped him or his co-workers. I get on average 4 to 6 calls a day which start at 8:30am from him then in the afternoon I receive calls from the restricted number and they I don't say anything so I hang up and CCM  just keep calling. I reported him to the FCC online.

I got a call from Ms. Sims, who only addressed me by first name (not professional), calling me on behalf of Security Credit Systems regarding an "important business matter" and trying to collect a debt and to please call back a ext. 124. She said this message was in addition to the previous message that was left. This number had called me the previous day but left no message. If you're going to scam people at least remember if you left them a previous message lol.

Someone called @ 7:30 AM my time (PST) claiming they were calling for Paul Hartman and to please call back Ext. 227.  I have no unpaid debts that I know of except for a fairly small college loan which was originally less than $2000 and is at least 40 years old!

This number has been calling me every few days, saying that they are trying to collect loan payments from a student loan I received through my college. They have also been calling me at work, and said that they received the number from my college, which is impossible since I got this current job years after I graduated, so that information would be nowhere on my records. I am easily searchable on the internet and they most likely got my work number through my employer's Facebook page. They told me that they have been sending letters to my house about this debt, but I have not once received any official paperwork from them. I told them that there was no way they got my work number through my college, and that if they sent me statements in the mail or proved that they truly had my debt, I would pay it. I then told them that I had read online that their company "Secure/Security Credit," was a scam. The man I was speaking to, Greg, suddenly got very aggressive and rude towards me. I told him that I would record his conversation and he said that was illegal and that he would file all the "legal paperwork" whatever that means, "through my college," and SUE me. He didn't even try to sound like he knew what he was talking about, and he has never been able to tell me exactly how much money I apparently owe to them.

NO legitimate debt collector would aggressively threaten to sue someone they were trying to get money from during the second/third time they actually speak to the debtor. Real debt collectors want their money the easiest way possible and would pretend to be nice and sympathetic to your situation, no real debt collector would YELL at you and tell you that they were going to sue over a measly loan, none of my loans are that much money, and I know who currently services my loans. If you get a similar call, do not give them any information, call your college or the institution/bank that you really borrowed money through, and ask them if there is a loan that they has gone into repayment that you were not aware of. Most likely, your loans are right where you left them, and Greg from Secure Credit Solutions and everyone who works there are just miserable people trying to make a buck.

I got a call from this same number they called my mother first to get my number saying I owed back college payment.  They said they would give me a week to figure out a payment plan they call me back today and when I tell them I can not afford to pay this right now they SCREAMED at me the man's name is James.  My mother called them after I told her what they said and how they were yelling at me.  They yelled at her too and hungup on her.  I'm not sure if this company is real or not but I will never contact them again!

I received a call from 1-716-882-4515 security credit systems from a Mr. Espo. They called my mothers house. I have had an issue in the past like 10 years ago, but now my credit is PERFECT so I knew this was nothing. However one thing they're trying to collect is over 10 years ago which I am no longer required to pay. So knowing this I google the number really quick to see what I was calling back. So I knew the deal- I jotted down some notes to remind me what to say on the phone- which were: (and will scare them and make it seem like you know what you're talking about) This worked 2 years ago for me. lol

Use these notes:

#1 tell them it is being RECORDED (only in NY it is legal I believe- so check your state) me being from NY I was able to use this line.

2. ask date of default (If over 7 years they can't do anything) DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS OR ANY AGREEMENTS or you may be liable)

3. if it is a date within 7 years and you know for sure that the debt is not from within 7 years, tell them "re-aged" debt is illegal and you will dispute with all 3 credit bureaus.

4. ask them for this collection in writing, mailed to you.

5. make it known that you KNOW it is over the statute of limitations (that 7 year rule) and that it against the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act)

6. If they continue to hound you which I highly doubt they will with you providing this info tell them you will complain to the following: FTC (federal trade commission), Financial Justice Hotline, and NY state attorney general bureau of consumer fraud & protection (or whatever state you're from).

It works!!! lol I know NOTHING about any of this stuff & with just a simple google search and some notes I scared THEM AWAY. I called them just told them my name. He stated where the debt was from and my response was- "Ok. Before we talk about this I want to let you know that it IS legal in NY and I am recording this call, can I have the exact date of default?" and HE HUNG UP ON ME!!! because they're scammers and they know they're attempting to collect debts that no longer need to be paid and they prey upon people who don't know this info. and get scared and will pay. So knowing I was right now I wanted to bother him, so I called back right away- I was going to play stupid as if we got disconnected. HE did NOT answer. I called back 10x in a row just to annoy him. NEVER answered. So Good Luck! =)

The  Fair Debt Collection Practices Act makes it so they aren't allowed to call your parents or anyone but you if you are over the age of 18.

I think its less then 7 years.  Search for NYS debt collection laws and it will give you info you need. But make sure it is a  legit site that you get info from, preferably from NYS gov.

They have been calling me for a year. It is always the same man and he gets nasty. He says I took and ambulance which I never did and I also have insurance to cover this if I had but I did not. He has the wrong birth date for me. He called again today and before he could say anything, I said I did not take an ambulance. He says, "That does not matter". I hung up on him. I am getting an unlisted number. He will not leave me alone!

Security Credit actually is a valid collection agency.  My daughter has a student loan that was in default and was sent to these people.  I've been helping her straighten it out.  They've been pretty open to working with me about it.

I believe if its 7 years old they can't collect on it any more, unless that's changed.  never say you are going to pay it because that will start the clock again.

i doubt these are real companies that help with your debt.  I would call your bank and get all your financial information change.  Your account number and debit card number and report it to the government.  also get a copy of your credit report to see if they've opened up any accounts under your name you don't know about.  http://www.stopfraud.gov/report.html

Even though they haven't taken any thing, they can create a new identity from the information you gave them.  this is definitely identity theft.

We have been receiving phone messages at home as well as my husband's place of work from this number regarding a college (?) debt. They consistently state the call is for "Andre". I called the number back to  find out what the situation was (to clear our name) & tell them to stop calling my husband's work as it could get him fired. I was transferred. The "Security" person I was transferred to talked loudly and over me. When I asked who "Andre" was (I wanted to be sure to clear my husband's name) the man talked before I was finished, told me I do not have to be rude. I said I'm not. He said yes "you are" very loudly and I tried to tell him he was talking over me and he kept talking without interruption then hung up on me.I can't find any information on this company or supervisor number to call regarding my treatment. I did leave a message with Mr. Lawrence extension 131 on his phone and told him to stop harassing us.Mr. Lawrence is the person who kept leaving the messages.
