They called back a second time exactly one-half hour later!
I let the call go to Voice Mail, so they hung up.
What Jerks!

Their first call came in on the Fax line, so they hung up when the machine tone engaged.
The second call came on the incoming phone line, so I answered with my first name and the name of the business.
A man said "This is LA Reader's Club, may I ask who I am speaking to?" (I had just given him my name!)
I replied, "No you may not!  This is a business, can I help you?"
The caller replied in a toxic tone, "I don't need you!"  Then he hung up.
I would like to meet that guy on the street!

They called about 5 times in a row. A young man talks so fast you cannot understand him. He talks so fast he forgets what he is saying. Then the last three times...sorry wrong number.

They claim to have authorization to call you or your company if your at work, tell you they will send you free subscriptions of several gender specific magazines. They say the cost is covered by the publisher and that its used for the marketing, because when you pass it along to friends, the issues and ads are seen by twice as many people. Once you give them your name, address, phone number, and more magazines for your spouse, they say its illegal to send subscription publictations in the mail without a fee. They continue to attempt to charge you over the phone by trying to get you to give them your debit card 'so that these free magazines are legal.' Charging you full cover price for each magazine.

Identified herself so rapidly that I couldn't understand her, followed by , "...and to whom am I speaking?"

I asked her, "WHO's calling?" and she replied (again very rapidly) "L A Readers Club," (or something like that).

I told her, "Not interested," and hung up.
