They just called me on 6/20/14 at 2:48 pm ET. My Caller ID had the phone number and the name "Keith Shannon". The same old credit card consolidation scam from this week's (today's ?) phone number. I pressed one to speak to a rep. I asked her is Keith was there, and she said, "No, but she was his assistant." I asked her what his last name was, and she replied, "What does that if you know Keith." And then she hung up on me.

Same scam different number. -- Then a
recording came on with this;
and Iraq is Pres George W Bush's legacy
how sad that he removed saddam hussein from power, cost us over 4500 american lives, 32900 injuries some with loss of legs and arms, and money that is astronomical over 3 trillion dollars , and for what ? to let it fall into the hands of radical islam terrorists, the time and money spent could have been used to save the U.S.A.
every highway / interstate / bridges rebuilt with money left over.
look at what GWB has done.

Scam call
Card Services.
Be sure to report these calls to the FTC so they can eventually sue these morons.

Ever since I joined AARP a couple years ago these calls tripled. What does that tell you? I'm cancelling my membership and getting a call blocker.
Edgar Cayce 2014-06-12 18:53:04 Telemarketer
I knew it was going to be another credit card scam call
, who do they expect to fall for this BS ? I may be a senior citizen but I'm not stupid.
time to stop these calls , the fcc-nsa-ftc could look up these numbers online after getting a complaint at the ftc donotcall site, and track them down and don't let them have any kind of phone as one of their penalty's , if the are found using a phone give them life in prison.
The good ol days when the only calls you got that were from people you didn't know were wrong numbers.

How about a whistle? I think if these telemarketers are putting things into our ears, a whistle - aa gym whistle - would be the best thing to do! Maybe that would stop them! I know it is mean but I also think it is mean of them to constantly call.

Phone service providers ought to deny phone service to these scam callers. Surely they can spot robo callers by the volume of calls, the duration of the calls (very short except for the occasional fish they catch), and the pattern of the numbers called. Robo calling ought to be outlawed for ANYONE.

I, like the rest of you, receive these calls all the time. Our government is WORTHLESS, especially when it comes to blocking these calls.
Your only other course of action is this:
Do NOT, under any circumstances, answer a caller you do not recognize. When you do, all you are doing is confirming for them is that they have reached a viable, working number and then they WILL call you back PLUS they will sell your number to other scam artists so they can call you too. If they continue to call then first, check with your phone service and see if they have a call blocker service (mine does). If I continue to receive calls from a certain number then it goes onto my "Blocked" list.
Also, just pressing 1 or any number they say to remove you from their list is also a scam. It doesn't work either. Also, I turn off my answering machine when I am home. If it answers them, then once again it only confirms the fact that they have indeed reached a "Working" number and they WILL continue to call you. Have a pleasant day. Sure am glad too for websites like this.
Thought for the day: I Wonder what would happen if everyone stopped answering these calls. IF they got no more answers then would they just give up and die ?
I will add that by using these tactics, there are days now when I have NO MORE phone calls from scammers! Only had one in the last three days now. Please folks, don't answer these phone calls. Use your caller ID's.

Ahhhh, different day, different scammer...same story...
Caller ID came up as "Keith Shannon" - on the last of our multiple business lines (clue #1...scammer). Picked up the line and immediately a recording started spewing scam about "This is an important call from card member services (clue #2...scammer), we have tried to reach you several times and sent things to your home (clue #3...scammer), this will be our last attempt to reach you (Lord...I WISH) to lower your rates (clue #4...scammer). To speak to one of our friendly representatives (clue #5...scammer), please press "1" now.......
PRESSING "1" :-).....Card services, are you calling to lower your rates? (Clue #6....scammer) ... and without saying a word...I unleash my recording of the loudest, most annoying sound into the receiver at full volume (Gosh, I love my job that they let me do this!!) until the scammer hangs up!!...(Final clue....scammer!!!)

Oh my! A new number...probably an old scammer. I do not pick up unrecognizable numbers. Time to invest in a call blocker.
Benda 2014-06-06 16:09:53 Unknown
I too received a call from "Keith Shannon". When I asked him to take me off of their list, he hung up. I thought we were protected from these scumbag losers.....

Received a call from this number with "Keith Shannon" on the caller id. Since I do not know this person in PA did not answer the call. Just another telemarketing scammer from the other messages I see.
Mikki 2014-06-06 14:58:22 Unknown
Called today at 11 am, I picked up and hung up immediately, like I normally do.

I just got a call from this number. As usual when I don't recognize the number and no message is left that spells telemarketer to me. I have a call blocker and entered this number. Done. They will never annoy me again from this number.
I did want to pass along a new example of how sleazy these people can be. A few days ago I was at my computer and a call came in. I scanned the caller ID. Quite amazingly it displayed my name AND 'phone number. How do they do that? Don't their IT people have some accounts to hack? Wasted talent?
One other tid bit. Many of us have heard from "Rachel" with offers to get you lower your credit card rates. She's back.
Now also blocked. Again.
Having a call blocker blocks up to 1500 telemarketers. They are available at places like Amazon, eBay, Sears and others. About $50. Easy to use. Love mine.

Got a call from this number this morning, did not answer, went to voicemail but left no message. This is a new among the many I get daily. It is really getting ridiculous.

This message from different number call my residence daily, if this the last and final notice why is this .
frustrated 2014-06-04 22:06:34 Telemarketer
It's a telemarketer. I think the laws should be changed so that we can call them back, and they can only use one number to call people, and not use numerous numbers.
Vashti 2014-06-04 19:38:31 Telemarketer
What new aggravation is this? Probably same old scammers with a new number. You block one, they come right back with another one. It never ends.
