Received cal from this number before and it is a scam/telemarketer calling and not the electric company.

calls many times weekly. have asked to be put on dnc list. calls keep coming. any advice on how to stop this?

Most HONEST companies do follow the DNC list.  It's the scammers and thieves that do not.  There is also a good chance that the phone number you received is a "spoofed" (fake) one and the caller is nowhere near your area.

Caller ID - "SERVE POWER" - I don't know the caller so I didn't answer - couldn't be important because the robo caller didn't leave a message.

I wonder if the "Do Not Call List" will ever be of use????

Calls multiple times a day. They are calling to try to save me money on my electric bill. Spoke to someone because I was tired of the calls and told them to remove my number. Said it was unlisted and on the do not call list. They continued to give me an attitude and I just said please just remove my number, I'm not interested. I got hung up on. If I receive the calls tomorrow, I will be reporting them to the police department for harassment.

I am sure it was a 'slamming' call.  I was to press zero to talk to a rep.   i am on the Do Not call list.  I did not press zero.  I want to have them stop calling me.

This number (7171-547-5740) calls every day.  I finally answered it.  The message says to press 0 for a representative for something about a "power company error".  When I pressed 0, I was placed on hold and told to locate my electric bill.  When the phone was answered by a live person, she asked if I had my bill. I told her no and that I wanted to be removed from their call list.  I was immediately hung up on.  Hopefully I have been removed.  Guess time will tell.

I've noticed that this number (717-547-5740) showed up a number of times recently on my caller ID. It also says says "Harrisburg, PA".  Perhaps if everyone did the same as I, this scourge of telemarketing that we all have to deal with would end.  Simply keep a list of all telemarketing callers and pledge to never do any business at all with those companies. (Even if it's a big, well known company that you like!). Once the people that pay telemarketers to make the calls find that they receive zero business as a result of telemarketing, and also loose some of the business that they already have, then jerk telemarketing companies will go out of business for good.
I pity a lot of the people that make the calls or pick-up when robocaller reaches someone.  For the most part, they are likely people that can't get a real, decent job that pays well.  They get stuck working for the idiots that own telemarketing companies.

Just called, ID came up as Harrisburg PA. Recorded voice said to press 0 to speak to rep about reducing my electric bill. So for grins I pushed 0. "Teresa" actually gave me the name of the company: LiveVoice, but hung up when I wanted more information (like a business address).  Just another annoying scammer ignoring the do not call list.

These people have been calling at least once a day! We are on the Do Not Call list as well as having an unlisted number. After hearing what power company we have they simply say, "Sorry. We can't help you."

Calls once or twice a day. Get recording about power company billing. New answer it anymore.

Have received repeated calls from this number; never leaves a message. I would advise to NEVER answer.  I know I won't!  Who is this jerk?

The number came up on the caller ID, but not name. I looked it up on the computer and this is what came up. I am on the "Do Not Call List".  They tell you to report these telemarketing calls, which I do. No one does anything about them.  WHY?

Slamming attempt with a lie as the lure.  Your power company did not make a billing error.  They correctly billed at the rate your electricity supplier charges you.  It is up to you to determine who your supplier is among those who are authorized to supply electricity via your power company.  Most electricity delivery companies have a list of authorized suppliers with contact information on their website so consumers can shop for the best supplier that fits their needs.

Robo-call with caller-ID as 'SERVE POWER'.  Called during dinner hour describing Power company billing error and I may be due a discount.  Press 5 to be connected with a live pest representative.

This number keeps hitting my home fax line!  The caller ID on my fax just says Harrisburg PA?  Don't know anything else.
