I looked this up because I couldnt figure out who called.. turns out I should have answered. It was my friend calling me from work telling me he left his cell at home in case I was trying to get ahold of him.
He works for PHEAA. Not a scam. If they have your information there are a few possibilities. A. You have a student loan thru the government. B. Someone screwed up somehow. C. Someone got a student loan in your name
If it is truly B or C you call google PHEAA and just call them back to try and straighten if out. They really don't want to waste their time calling the wrong people for various reasons, including, I'm sure, that doing so doesn't make anyone any money

I work for american education services or aes. we help with student loans weather private or federal. If we are calling you thats what it is in reference too. If we call and you are not the person we are looking for you can say you have the wrong number and the calls from aes will stop. If you co-signed on a loan and we can not get in contact with the borrower we will call to seek for payment. I can only speak for myself i am one of the nice reps that will call, you have to understand that aes is a servicer of your loans we are not your actual loans folks you obtain your loan with that what they pay us to do! We are trying to help you but if you do not answer your phone we dont know what your situation is....so with that please be just a little nicer to us we are just doing our job!

I picked up when they called. All the woman said was "Trish." I told her she had a wrong number and that was the end of it.

Received a call asking me if I was the woman and then they hung up.

Caller purports to be Fed Loan Servicing. Attempted to call them back, phone rings, but no answer for 5 minutes

I got that call and when I call back the line is busy also
The Loan Master 2012-09-11 14:06:35 Unknown
The only person you're screwin is yourself. The Government will take your money back anyway they want work with Fedloans, they want to help.
Answers their calls 2012-09-11 14:04:00 Unknown
I work at a University and help students that have question on their student loans. This number is from Fedloan Servicing. As someone said previously, they are a Federal Loan servicer and want to help you with your students loans. They are assigned by the Government to help you. Understand places like these want to save your credit. If you ignore them then eventually they send your loans to a debt collector and you're going to be in a much worse spot. So pick up the phone and work with them. It'll help you in the long run if you don't want to ruin your credit for years to come! Also you can check out your account on their website. Do it! myfedloan.org

It's just about student loans. I just consolidated mine and got a call. Probably a harmless call...unless you're not paying them.
C$$$ 2012-06-22 22:04:46 Unknown
I did the same exact thing just yesterday! It's stupid they don't leave a message. Screw em.
m2 2012-05-17 18:37:12 Unknown
It's Fed Loans and if you go on the Direct Loans site you can find them listed as one of the companies that is servicing the Special Consolidation Loans.
minnie 2012-05-09 18:03:06 Unknown
Regardless of who they are, when you ask a business to stop calling you they MUST stop by law, even if you owe them money.
L 2012-04-18 19:03:35 Unknown
Why was ther a call with no message~!
GK 2012-04-13 15:21:52 Unknown
They left a message about consolidating student loans, which is legit for my situation.
Quarter Million Student Loan Debt 2012-03-28 19:57:53 Unknown
You mean I have to pay that back??? What?!?!?!?! Ugh! I just did consolidation yesterday - I'm sure it's a legit Fed Loan Financing Call. However, no message was left - pretty rude!
whamp whamp 2012-03-22 23:25:57 Unknown
They left a message wanting to consolidate my government student loans. Same company has emailed me several times using the Direct Loan logos in their emails, but otherwise I cannot find where this company is affiliated with Direct Loans.
Hate These Callers 2012-02-14 18:50:39 Unknown
These callers say they are from the college loan company, and they left me a VM saying they are trying to verify Carlos Garcis Junior and that they need to speak with me ASAP. #1, I got college paid for by my company, so I have 0 loans. #2, I have never met a Carlos Garcia OR a Carlos Garcia Jr, so that is not true either. #3, when I called back, it said the number is not in service, so I know it's not real. They are fishing for information, and should be reported.
xfanficx 2011-12-20 16:50:25 Unknown
They are not telemarketers and do not have to abide by the Do Not Call Registry. They are trying to recover debt from student loans, whether private, federal, or both.
Their name is actually American Educational Services, or AES.
MOOSEY 2011-12-15 20:53:52 Telemarketer
This Company tried to call through two days in a row through Privacy Directory and was rejected and today they called again using this 717-720-2000 number. I had my number changed just 2 weeks ago to an unlisted number but this does not stop these fools. THE COMPANY NAME IS AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION. I HAVE REPORTED ALL THREE CALLS TO THE DO NOT CALL LIST.

This number keeps calling trying to fax or something, won't stop. Set on auto dial or something.
Joe 2011-07-29 00:39:27 Debt Collector
AES is the servicer for your student loans. I gave them 2 phone numbers and they call without leaving a message.
Chris 2011-06-29 17:22:29 Unknown
I was called about a student loan..... Too bad, I never took aout any college loans and worked my way through college. When I told them that, they informed me it was very important information and they needed to get it to me ASAP! Though, they would not tell me any of the spicifics about the info nor could they verify any of my information that any college would know such as DOB

Who is the owner?
NotTheOne 2011-06-06 20:55:36 Unknown
United States Department of Education, American Education Services (AES) or Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). An Attorney representing these companies who is trying to collect a debt for outstanding student loans.
Sox 2011-04-08 21:08:21 Debt Collector
Yea its FedLoan... And they are wanting money
TatoLover 2011-04-03 14:55:30 Unknown
It was AES reminding me that my loan transferred from xls to AES will begin direct debitting. Many times they call just to confirm due dates and such. Nothing to be alarmed about, actually id prefer reminders instead of not knowing information and ruining my credit. It can take a while to get through all they identity questions when u call them back, but its probably important to.
