Keep getting calls from this number multipe times a day! I don't answer as i screen all my calls and google unknown numbers. I went to a Home Show a few weeks ago and entered to win a Home Depot giftcard. I guess it's all a scam! So sick of these people!! How do you get them to stop calling?

Same thing happened to me and they were extremely rude to me and my mother. You would think that vendors at a bridal show would be legit, but I guess not> now I will watch what I fill out.

I recently went to a show (Sexapalooza) like so many others who reported to get these calls went to some kind of trade show. In those shows, 'businesses' buy their space and I guess not much research is made in what type of business it is. I will make a complaint to the event holders and I recommend everyone else do the same. It's the only way to stop this.

Anyways, I got a call last night - it was definitely too late to be respectful. I didn't answer since I was watching a movie and they didn't leave a message. Then I got a call again today... Again I didn't answer and they didn't leave a voicemail.

I decided to do a search, like I usually do with unknown phone numbers, to see where it comes from (my bf is job hunting right now). And I found many posts where people all had this same experience. It is definitely a scam and I'll answer next time and ask to be taken off the list. If they're hiding behind a legit company, they'll have to abide.

The same outfit is now leaving sign ups in malls offering a new car or a trip.  I asked for the cash option and they discontinued the call.  Remember to you can contest the charges on your card.

I went the the bridal show this past weekend and filled out a few ballots and when i got the call at first I couldnt believe that I had won a trip, but then the guy started sayin everything that i won and that the trip for two to florida and the bahamas was a $2500 trip i was pretty thrilled then he went on bout the info and that i also got a 3 day trip to vegas and another one to florida to promote to my friends and family that its such a great thing blah blah blah, then hes like im gonna need the expiry date of your credit card im like ok so u just need the expiry date to place a hold on it and hes like yes then im goin to need the cost of one person promo fee of $199 minimum to put on ur credit card, and i asked him why he needed money if i won a trip for free and he explained the same thing to me again and i told him i didnt have enough money on my credit card to use it. so they said they are gonna call back monday and that will be a phone call I WILL NOT ANSWER. thank you everyone for sayin something on here or i would have lost some money. Also i told everyone that i went to the bridal show with and they had told me they had got a call from that number too. That deff shows that this is fake and do not fall for it.

Scam they called me today and i would have fallen for it but I didn't even have the money for the package.

They asked if I had 600$ (2 tickets) I said no.

They asked for 300$ (1 ticket) I said no

They then asked if I had enough for HALF a ticket. Which i didn't.

Then they said they'd call me back later this week.

This info you guys posted saved me from making a huge mistake. Thank you so much.

P.S. There was also a $299 fee to register.  And he was going to give me a website for me to refer to, but he never got that far.
Also, he said that it was never a "draw", that it was always posted that people entering their names were qualifying for a heavily discounted vacation.  But I don't think anyone was "qualifying" for a heavily discounted $500 Home Depot gift card... even if what he said was true. (As far as I recall, it wasn't.)

Same story.  $500 gift card from the Home Depot or a cruise.  I didn't see any small print on the entry form or the poster, so I put my name on it and off I went.  Then I start getting calls 2 days later at 2 different phone numbers.  The guy used the "You signed up for this, I'm not calling you out of the phone book" line.  Then he went on to say that only 3 percent of all the entrants are getting this fantastic offer.  Went on to describe the trip and kept pausing for a reaction from me (which never came).  He then asked if I was ready to "do this".  When I explained that I was a little wary, he started saying "Why? What's the problem? You're getting an amazing deal!" I asked if I had to make the decision right then, and he said, "Absolutely.  We have to start the registration process right now."  I told him I didn't think I was interested, he went off into what an amazing deal it was and that I was passing up a huge opportunity.  He asked if I was planning on taking any vacation in the next 18 months.  By this time I'd had enough and I said no.  "Really? You're not planning on taking ANY vacation in the next TWO YEARS?"  I said no, and he said that maybe it wasn't for me after all and he'd give my vacation away to somebody else.  I agreed that was fine, but I think he'd hung up by then.

I thank you all for your posts.  You helped me stop my 19 year old daughter from getting scammed and learning her first scam lesson about how precious our hard earned money is.  She signed up for a free vacation at a "Life Light festival" in South Dakota.  She called the number they gave her twice and each time they hung up on her assuming that she couldn't afford a timeshare just because she lives in an apartment.  Bad assumption on their part.  If not for this page of posts she would never have believed me and checked out the vacation she won.  Thank you again.

I wanted a $500 Home Depot gift certificate. Not a trip to the bahamas!

These people are harrassing me.  I get 4 calls a day!  I picked up the first time and she asked if I've ever been to the bahama's.  I told her no.  She replied "You're going to love it. Have you ever been on a cruise?" "no"  "you're going to love it".

She also asked if I was from "Hammered, Ontario" HAH. Really legit.

I, too, just received a call from this number - they said I won a cruise from Orlando, FL, to the Bahamas, gave me all kinds of details on the trip and that I only had to pay $299 for everything. I filled out a ballot at the Jerk Food Festival in Etobicoke, and they had all the information that I filled out. Of course, they wanted my credit card information, which I didn't give out. They said they'll give me some time to think it through and will call back tomorrow... I'll know not to answer this number!

The website they gave me was www.bahamascelebration.com

ANYONE WHO ATTENDED THE FORT ERIE FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL AND PUT THEIR NAME IN THE "WIN A 500$ BEST BUY CARD" ballot .. you WILL BE CALLED.
I filled out a form to win a 500$ best buy card and got the call from this guy who got my number from it !!!!!
told me it was for an all expense paid trip to the bahamas, luxury cruise and to vegas for $299/person !
then wanted the # to my major credit card which i had to obviously lie and say i didn't have on me !!!
the caller insured me it was fine, because he somehow got my name, number, birthday and information from this ballot ! WHICH IS COMPLETE BOGUS !!
i was sent to www.bahamascelebration.com for contest information !
i called the actual company to see what is going on here and left a message !
especially since the guy said he's in florida and the number is from NEW YORK !
also asked me how far away from the border I was! which is not important whatsoever !

I'm also filing a complaint with the festival, as this should not be happening .
I don't agree with 3rd parties having all my information without my knowledge

I had signed up for a raffle at a Coffee & Tea festival in NYC, and they called me and told me that though I hadn't won the prize, I had won a vacation to Florida. I was wary because of other scams I had heard about involving vacations and cruises, and by the time the guy got to the end of his shpeel, he asked for $299 per person and told me of other fees that there would be. He required that I should pay for at least 1 ticket right then and there, I said that I wouldn't, and he hung up soon after.
Totally a scam.

I got a call this morning from 718-228-0785 asking for my husband, he was at work so I asked to take a msg but they hung up. My husband TXT me later in the day to say that number called his cell...fishy because he just got a new number and no one has it yet! A little later, I got another call this time for me, She said "are you sitting I have the greatest news" I beat her to it and said "I bet I won a trip to the Bahamas" She went on to say for only $299 US PP all this can be yours, I hung up!

18 months ago I fell for the scam, gave them my credit card and they took off $299 X2 US. I waited for my package to arrive in the mail it was all fake, their was NO TRIP they just want your money.

I received a call from a gentleman asking me if I was sitting down because he had some "exciting news for me" and told me that I won a trip or cruise from FL to the bahamas. I was at a wedding show this past weekend and this is where this guy said he got my number from. Although he did not ask for my credit card number, he asked for an expiration date to verify that I had an existing card. He then told me to go the the www.bahamascelebration.com to register. Seemed a little fishy to me, I hung up on him. My fiance who also went to the show has received numerous calls from this number, but was asked to provide a credit card number.

Received a call stating that a "trip has been won." They demanded a credit card right away. Thank goodness it was easily determined that the phone call was from a scammer. However, the 12 minute sales pitch cost me $40. This so called travel company is trying to sell to Ontario residents, however they must be registered with TICO, which they arent. If you see a 718 phone number, DO NOT PICK IT UP!

The Universal Studios trip raffle is from the same telemarketing company as the Bahamas one. My boyfriend and I went to the NY Big Apple Comic Con this past weekend and they have been calling my cell phone four times a day for the past three days, from a different number almost every time.  All numbers point to the same company when I look them up.  They say they don't sell your name, but their free trip raffle is just a front for their own telemarketing campaign.

I got the same #, they gave me that bahamas celebration site.  I knew it was fishy when he confirmed my address and it had my old zip code instead of my new one.  Also, he said i filled out an entry to win the vacation, at the event i just attended this past weekend...i was there, but i know for a fact i didnt fill one out for a cruise. I only filled 1 out for a universal studios trip. :)
