Someone called my home and left a message for my daughter. They said they were from the Department of Federal investigations IRS. They had a very thick accent and call me from a Washington DC phone number 202 239 7104. I tried calling the number back several times but kept getting disconnected when I asks probing questions about why they were calling. Every time I call I got someone with a foreign accent.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

So  I received a phone call from a lady saying she is calling from federal of investigations and that they needed my advice stupid of me gave her my address but not the only after i gave it her she said i have a case with this company which she gave me a case number and a phone number : 1 (855) 245-0179 and she hang up.. I changed my phone number right away.. They r so annoying.. And that number that called was (949) 392-6808

Officer Remi Walker left a message from "Federal Investigation Department" mentioning about federal charges against me. I should call back at the earliest to this number 9143431704.

I've received calls from a company called The Federal Investgation Department saying that this company named US Cashnet was sueing me because they claim to have sent me some money into my account and that it was not paid back on time yet I checked my accounts and they were still empty from when I first openned them. They asked me to send them $121.00 to resolve this matter. However the number that called me was differrent it was as followed 929-268-1040. They have called me repeatedly saying that they had a warrent for my arrest. What should I do?

Ya i have received a call coming from a Mike Hall it came out as 10000 then its was a 646-328-2037 number and then when i advised him that i was not giving him any money. He started to curse at me and call me profound names. Talking dirty to me as well. I made a police case on him. He was calling my family and my fiance.

these people hazve been continuously calling my cell phone for months and months when i try to call back i usually get a voicemail..or someone who speaks no english saying he is from the federal investigation department....i want these called stopped

Them b*****ds keep calling my house!!! and i curse their a***s out. They pissed me off man. They seen that i applied for a loan on line and them b*****ds going to tell me that I recieve the money. BS I never got the money,because I never sign it electronically. DUm b a**!!!

my elderly mother receives calls every three months or so from people who state they are with the federal investigation office and they threaten her and will not provide any documentation as to who they are or what it is she illegally owes to them   everytime they call is it a different name and the number today is from 701-214-6452

The man who keeps calling me is saying that he is a sargent and they are going to send police officers to my job and arrest me. They have been calling my workplace and they have the last 4 of my social security number. He says his name is Sargent David Cooper the number is 936-333-6630. Everytime I try to call him I get a voicemail.

There is another number they are calling from now. It starts with 805 and they say they are in California. Everything that everyone else has said is the same veal they told me. They even block their phone number from my cell. They finally got Ahold of me at my job. I knew something wasn't right from the jump. So beware people.

The number I'm getting a call from is 214-446-5372 saying he was from the federal investigation dept. Sounds like he's from India or Pakistan . Saying it's important that I call him back. So. Wear of this number ,too. I won't call them back.

They called me at work on a phone number I don't give anyone (my supervisor's!). He (didn't get a name) said he was with the Federal Investigation Department and gave me some "case number" then asked what I wanted to do about the situation. I asked repeatedly what loan company it was regarding and he said they represented a bunch of them. So then I asked when I had received this loan and all he said was May. I told him not to call me at work again, I would check the validity of the call then get back in contact and hung up. Why did he call me right back at work?! Geeez

Just got a phone call from the "federal investigative Dept." The guy said his name was Eric Scott and the number is 646-253-7436. The same scam as everyone else I owe a payday loan I never recieved and that I was having federal charges pressed against me.

I just received a call from mark Harris about a payday from 2008!!he harassed my 76yr old Grandma threatening to serve her with papers....along with myself!!its a shame that they dont have any respect for there elders! They wouldn't want anyone harassing there grandparents...and would be great if they'd stop harassing everyone else's!!I was called from every number that's been listed as well as 954-621-3536!!who knows he may be legit...heck I'm still in a recession couldnt.

They called me many times, left messages, and even texted me.  He claimed he is officer stevens from federal investigation department.  He said that I owed finance company money and had to pay them back to avoid legal charges against me.  WTF!  These people are crazy.

I read these before calling him back, told him i was a detective and he just barked up the wrong tree, i threatened to press charges on him...he now wants me to go "party" at his house, WTF!

Please noone give these people any money they are scammer calling from india. I can't understand why they have not been arrested

When they first called they said that they were going to have my sister arrested because she owed a debt to the Indian tribal councel or police. They have conned my sister out of $650 after they first called me. I hope they all rot in hell. I called back to get his bosses name and he told me it was Robert Brown. I asked him if he was from Pakistan and he said "I think I was born there." He then insulted my mother. How can these guys still be scamming? Does anybody care? Please help bust these b*****ds.

Here is the info they just gave me when I called him back and did'nt cuss him out. I asked for James Wilson or Mark Harris when I called back and the arab that answered said he was Mark Harris. He also said I had another charge because I used profanity! I would love to get my hands on these guys. They are GARBAGE!!!

I received a call from these people also - they call for two days and then stop for a month or so.  This time his name was Officer Darren Young and a new guy by the name of Dave Pistol.  Some numbers they are calling from are 970-176-6059 or 214-785-2056.  They cannot provide any documentation for anythng and no manager/supervisor. Strong accents.

This is a scam - I am a victim of it.  James Wilson with FID is a scam.  Also, I got a call from a 610-717-1806 for a Mark Harris.  These oversee calls are all scams.  These are hackers that get into your debts you owe (car, credit cards,old payday loans, etc) and call you, make threats, lies and don't give any paperwork about the debt.  They hack into your info and get YOUR info but give none.  When I asked this James Wilson jerk for an address to his office, he gave me an address in New York to an apartment building.  He said it was an attorney's office in a business office.

Beware folks!!  

God bless you all....I now have to fight for my money back.  I am a single mom with no child support, no other income on a fixed income who was threatended with over $6,000 in court if I did not cooperate.

These people are CRAZY! They are calling me from all different numbers.  Each time this guy has a different name.  I have reported them to my local police department and each time they look up these numbers they are calling from they are fake.  I have said everything from this call is being recorded by the local police to telling them they have the wrong number.  THEY JUST WANT STOP!!!  I was told that the FBI is aware of these people, but can't catch them.  Get a life and stop trying to steal other people lives, YOU DUMB A****!

The same idiots just called me.  I ended up in a screaming match and I finally told them they were full of sh** and hung up.  I think the only valuable thing here is my daughter was a witness to my phone call and maybe she will never fall for this crap.

707-361-4469 keeps callling me at job stating they are from "Federal Investigation Dept" in California.  I asked the caller to give me the city in California he was located in and he refused.  He said he could only give the physical address to me if I settled the "Payday Loan Case".  He read a so called affidavit to me that said I was being charged on 3 counts.  This is really annoying!  He could not tell me what payday loan company he was calling on behalf of, he just said "Cash Advance" onlince company.  They threatened to send me to jail for 3 months.. The funny thing is... the charges he read off to me carry more than 3 months in prison..  This dummy didn't know he was talking to a paralegal with an extensive legal background in criminal cases...lmfao..

These calls have been happening to me too....We just got a new cell phone carrier a few days before this started...what cell phone carrier does everyone have?

The numbered call me and a man going by the name Mike Johnson stated that he was from the New York District Court.   Stated that I owe for a payday loan and I told him he was full of it.  When I ask for more information he stated that I already had the information and that if I didn't take care of this with him then I was going to be arrested.  He got upset when I ask for the information to either be mailed to me or give the name and number of the company but he got very nasty and hateful using language that wasn't very nice either.  These people even called a friend of mine and ask them if they knew me and if she knew how to reach me because they needed some information from me.  My friend stated that I was out of the country and they stated "Oh! that's right" she then called them liars and that she was making a complaint.  I refused to contact them back at this number but now they are calling me from another number.  So beware if they can't reach you from this number they may call you from this number 213-550-4470 and their name might be James Lewis from the American Legal Department.
