Im guessing capital one is now hanging up on people. Not even leaving a message. I would like a job like that, and get paid to do nothing. Just annoy people I don't know. I guess it would be funny. Mmmm maybe not.
This is a related complaint filed on the internet. Reference #09-C00090484. These people call me several times a day and hang up on me and they don't leave any messages.
Crack o' dawn call. Plus no message left; I'm sure the anonymity is what bolsters their rudeness....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It is Capital one. However we are not late on our bill, we are due for a payment on 7-5-2010. So not sure why the are calling.. It does make me a little nervous though.
This number calls several times a day and never says anyhthing
It's Capital One. I swear they must have a gazillion numbers to call from, and they call from ALL of them 10x a day if you're more than an hour late with your payment.
you don't have to be late for anything nor have a card or any dealings with them. The ID came up as cap 1remote acc and it was that nauseating Linda, offering oportunities. They do have a zillion numbers.
It is so Capital One. They will call from everywhere. This showed up on the caller ID as "Flushing/Queens"
Ahhhh, the life of being a mega super star has it's downside.......especially with my number one stalker Linda.
I don't have ANY credit cards. However, I keep receiving calls from this number. They have never left a voicemail. When I try to return the calls it automatically tells me to enter my account number. I don't have an account number! I don't have any accounts through them! This is extremely annoying! They call my cell phone several times a day including Sunday mornings. How do I get them to quit?
thanks for the info they call every hour!
I received a call from 718-359-1082, and it was an automated female calling about a job opportunity with Capital One. Seems like they have a bank of numbers at their disposal, used for all kinds of services.
I just got a call also.
It's Capital One for sure.
I get phone calls from them 20 times a day or more. I get tired of answering to find a computer on the other end. This should be against the law. I missed one payment and called them to work something out and they told me no. I can't go from $15 a moth payments to $65 on a whim on two credit cards, I am on a strict budget. They refused to work me to try and resolve. They would rather severly harrass me. Not to mention before I missed a payment they raised my rates and never notified me which is against federal law. They should be stopped from their illegal practices.
I don't have a capital card either and have been getting these calls for over a year. I work graveyard and have reported this many times. No results. I am not changing my phone number, soooo, I use caller block. I now have "11" phone numbers from these people blocked.
it's capital one credit card company - they have a multitude of numbers to call from.
I switched to a different cell phone number and Capital One called my new number over and over again from different numbers even though I'm not a customer. I emailed email@example.com and nicely explained to them what was going on and gave them my number. I didn't expect them to do anything but they emailed me back saying my number is off the list and I haven't received a call since!!!!
Capitol 1 uses same tricks as other credit card companies - I set up auto pay which, of course, they did not process or use or whatever reason, so now my interest rate has been increased. I think they must have hundreds of numbers at their disposao with each having a caller ID's showing the city and state, I think they are hoping that you might know omeone from that city and answer the call! I did just that & got a Capitol 1 rep from the Phillipines who had the nerve to ask me for my ss number to verify who I was! I asked her where she was calling from and with reluctance she verified The Phillipines. I told her to have someone from the U.S call me. This upset her and she said that "we will just keep calling you" and then hung up on me.

What part of her post did you not get?
I don't have a Capital One card, and because of these harassing calls, I never will.
I am in the EXACT same boat. Never missed a payment or was even late. Lost my job in August, send out 30 or more resumes per day and nothing. Capitol One doesn't want to listen, they would rather call 10 x a day, I managed to keep up my payments until unemployment ran out and not they want blood from a turnip. I am at a loss as to what to do.
Capital One collections has over 20 different numbers they use on robocall.
I THINK LINDA IS IN LOVE WITH ME!
But too bad, I am unemployed, in debt, single sad man.
Sorry, Linda, but I have no choice but to divorce you (bankruptcy is coming..)
To the person who thinks they only call because we deadbeats don't pay our bills. Not only do I pay my bill, I pay more than the minimum payment. They call not only to harass for money, but to sell you credit insurance and to sell you payment protection and according to the report I read yesterday on the net, they are now calling people offering them the deal of a lifetime.....if you agree to it, they will cut your over-the limit fees in half.....problem with that is that the new credit card law does away with over-the-limit fees unless you opt-in to this agreement....so say NO to that one, if you're brave enough to pick up the phone instead of just hit ignore.
Same here! Google Voice is GREAT!
I love Linda
Linda gets around! She called me from Massachusetts yesterday.. today it's from New York. Where will she be tomorrow? Can we meet? I'd love to hear your "great opportunities" with Capital One over a carmel macchiado.
Yes i have a cap one card. Yes I lost my job and was unable to pay, I just got a new job, called and offered equal monthly installments with reasonable terms and they told me to pay it all off or else...I am unable to as I have other more important bills so now I have 6-7 calls a day from different numbers her is a recent list.
Send a "cease and desis" letter indicating that they cannot call you on your telephone and all correspondences must be done in writing. Send it certified/delivery receipt so you have proof the letter was sent. And if they call after that tell them they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you will file a complaint and possibly sue for harrassment if they continue to call. I have done this with them and am just waiting for the notification to tell me they have received it. I have done this with all of my bills (current or past due) and I am currently only receiving calls from Capitol One. I still keep in contact with them to let them know my situation and when I will be sending the next payment. (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf)
Amen to that one!
This is Capital One Collections. Boy are they persistent!!!!
