At least I know I am not the only getting this call.  I keep getting called from this number and I get the same number is out of service message.  I wonder if this is the newest Nigeria scam?

So is anyone going to do anything about this, or are we all just going to go on complaining here online like sheep?

I checked with my provider and there is apparently no way to block other phone nos. from calling in to my phone.

I've also just in the past week begun receiving several unwanted text msgs. per day, for services I didn't sign up for and have no need of (like "education funds").  I HAVE TO PAY FOR THESE TEXT MESSAGES. HOW CAN IT BE LEGAL FOR SOMEONE TO SEND THEM TO ME WHEN I HAVEN'T SIGNED UP FOR THEM OR REQUESTED THEM???

We were on the road to Chicago (12/29/2009) when my friend who was driving got a call from this number, (time, between 2:15 and 2:45 central time).  She did not answer because she did not recognize the number.  She asked if we new where the area code 718 was.  I checked, and she stated she knew no one in the state of new york.  So I checked the whole number and ran across this forum.

So how can we STOP THIS from happening???  That's what I want to know!!!

idk wtf they callin me for but they need to stop i mean they're in nyc im in chicago....what do they want?

they really need to catch the jerks there has to be a reason they are doing this crap cuz why would they do it if they arent benefiting from it.

this number calls never leaves a message. my # is on both the state and federal do not call lists there has to be a way to stop these calls

Just why is there so many Debt questions at the beginning and end of this . I think that this is where the scam comes in.

Just recieved call same as all above comments I think I have figured it out if you go on line and take some of the surveys you get paid for your answers will tell this scamer all about yourself if you are in debt and how much I just did it last night and BAM I got hit big time today from Emails to phone calls from NY,ID,CO THIS COMMENT IS FOR FOOD ONLY.

yeah, so i'v also been recieving phone calls from them, but at extremely inconvenient times, like 3-5am... can anybody confirm if calling this number and asking to be removed from list works? 1.877.241.6922?

This is a very helpful thread and hopefully someone can use this information to stop this company from continuing their abusive practices. They called my cell phone and all our phones are listed on the national don't call list. If its not illegal to call from a number that is "out-of-service" it should be. This company is probably avoiding payment by using such a number so the cell phone companies may be willing to help.

Called.  It rang twice.  I picked up and said my name.  No answer.  Said "hello?"  No answer.  This was my cell phone!  Get these creeps!

this number has called here several times and when i answer they hang on for awhile but dont say nothing...i hang up.......they never say nothing, but when i call star 69 its always the same number they give me....what do they want, its frustrating for them to call and very annoying

he called me like rite now, who is he, he has a deep voice he knew my name

Calls and does not talk.sometimes very late at night.

What do they gain by calling me every day and hang-up as soon as i pick up the phone.????

Same number just called today when i was at work, no message and when i called back got the out of service message and I'm in Ontario, Canada

The woman asked for 'Mary'regarding a 'search for degree' which I've never heard before!  Said she had a wrong number.  Although the woman apologized nicely I find it interesting that the number had been for 'debt colletions' only a few months ago according to this site I'm posting this information at.  How interesting.
No name listed just the 718 number and that it was from NY (New York I presume).  

All my services are 'registered' with National Do Not Call, but they still get through!  Wish there was a way of blocking phone numbers that come through landline and cell phones like you can 'block' IM and e-mail stuff.  I have a white list for family, friends and a number of businesses whom I deal with and have permitted access to my inbox!  Sure would be nice to pull the same thing with phone calls.  If telecom companies could be forced to allow this functionality I bet a lot of telemarketers would go away!  Unfortunately, telecom companies make money from telemarketers.

called our house number, when I called it back it does say that it is a no longer working number.

i am also receiving these calls and began to wonder if it has anything to do with publishers clearing house? if anyone recently did anything on that site and then received the calls i wonder. also be careful do any of you know that some companies can access your computer if you have any connection to the phone line to your computer so be careful

Customers are receiving calls 7184526281, when they pick up its either deadair and when they try to call back it says the line is out of service

I have been getting a call from this number for the past 2 or 3 days various times. When I answer there's no one on the line. Confused

Don't recall filling out anything on a web site for them. But I am glad that I used my Google Voice # instead of a 'real number'.
