The person who called me said I signed up for something at the Beansville Festival, which I've never heard of before. This was their third time calling me and they had all of my information.

They called 2 times within 1 minute. I didn't answer either time, but have been receiving increased calls from this number and a couple other 718 numbers. The only thing I can think of that might have sparked these calls is my recent visit to the Winnipeg Wedding Show. I filled out a couple of draw forms there thinking that they were legit. Now I know better. lol

I just got the call from a lady named "Carol",
it sounds to good to be true. 8 days vacation for 2, with criuse, for only $299!
but you have to pay for one flight, and give them your credit card to pay $300 right away!
Why can't they send me the information first, let me look over it. before I decide???
if I WON, why do I have to pay???
It sounds more like a GOOD DEAL rather than A TRIP that I WON,
and why was the Lady so PUSHY, and VERY convincing and VERY SLICK!
If she calls back, I'm just going to say I'm not interested!!!

THIS IS A SCAM.
me and my friend attended a comic convention in Toronto and this morning they called him telling him he won a dream vacation trip to Florida and on a cruise ship. he was too excited so he gave them his credit card number. i figured it sounded to good to be true and super sketchy since he had to give his credit card number on the spot. and the guy on the phone said his name was David Smith.
so we tried calling back and got winded through a maze of phone operators.
while we were doing research they called me telling me i had won. I knew it was fake for sure.
DONT GET FOOLED
they called from these two numbers
718-228-1763
718-530-9134
the area code is from queens new york

Yup....
Jelly-Beans 2010-01-22 04:00:32 Unknown
Yup ... got the call to ... was very exicited until they ask for my credit card# to pay for the delivery of the package, 299.00 x 2 (for the 2 passengers) = $600.00.
They first asked for the credit card expiry date - they apparently only needed the expiry date - then they said they needed the card number. Did not want we pay on delivery, apparenltly they could not. While speaking we had the chance to search to the internet and BOOM!!! Thanks to this site!!!
They seem to try getting the yougest adults.

So glad that I checked! I missed the call, but knew something wasn't right about the number?
Thanks to those who posted details of this phone number, greatly appreciated!

Received several calls on my cell phone (never get calls from unknown numbers), and after reading the above posts, realized it was probably from the last concert I went to where I had entered a draw for a trip to the Bahamas. Called 1-800-231-1298, the number provided by John (Thanks John!), "Customer Care" answered and asked for my phone # and reservation #. Informed her that the # I provided was the # I wished to have removed from their call list. She asked for first and last name to put through the removal request; I resisted, but she insisted the only way the request would be fulfilled was if the name and phone # matched their files. Provided the information, and was assured that my # would be removed... We shall see.

You and I must've been on the same calling list. Toronto Northern Ink tattoo fair?
Dan_Ramble 2009-06-25 17:31:24 Telemarketer
Hahaha, that's funny, they let me put them on hold while I was "contacting a friend"
I have won a trip before, and actually legitimately won from P&G. I was contacted by their events manager and he told me about what I won. These guys at bahamas cruise didn't they confirmed my excitement, but I was asking all the right questions and I stumped them. I asked " how many people won?" and the first girl said " only 3 people were offered this" and I talked to the manager. her manager said " only three percent were offered"
Overall, DON'T TAKE IT!! It sounds like a great offer, and you actually do have 7 days upon receiving the package" to cancel your trip and get your money back; but the fact that they said I need to give my credit card number or it's not valid sounds extremely sketchy.
ALSO: They Don't have a BRN# in which I could look them up.

It happened to me this morning, I knew something was fishy. So I had to research about it, and here I am. They used a couple of numbers to try to contact me when I didn't pick up: 1 718 228 0785 & 1 718 228 0775 & of course this one. Thank god I researched on this.
They gave me websites too:

Yes, looks like a scam to me too
Faryal 2009-03-10 18:31:24 Unknown
Scam! Yes it happened to me too. They keep calling you to sign up for this free trip...yeah they go to trade shows, festivals, etc. and hand out signups to win a "Free" trip to the Bahamas. When you don't answer they try calling from other number. Beware !
David 2008-11-24 17:47:07 Unknown
They got me, or tried to get me last week. Same scam. It sounded great until they asked for my credit card info up front. I told them I would call them back with it if they give me their number. They never did. They kept calling me until they slipped and forgot to block their number. sounded very fishy to begin with. Now I know.

See: 718-228-0774
This is a SCAM.
Apparently they go to trade shows, festivals, etc. and hand out signups to win a "Free" trip to the Bahamas.
They call everyone that signs up (or at least multiple people). They make some reference to the festival or show you were at (to make it seem more legitimate), then they say that you've "won" the trip to the bahamas. After the ensuing excitement, they start giving you details.
Unfortunately here are the REAL details:
-the trip is "Worth $2500", taking you to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and the Bahamas. HOWEVER you have to pay $300 PER PERSON.....and you'll also have to pay airfare. So you really didn't win anything at all. They're just offering you a deal. Plus, apparently there are a lot of other hidden charges when you go on the trip.
-They ask you to pay the $300 before you get off the phone.
-There is a "port charge" to get into the bahamas of about $150 or so.
TOTAL scam. And a good one, too, because they get you thinking this is a local organization. Its not.
It happened to us, They charged my girlfriend's account, and, luckily, we did research immediately afterward about it because it sounded like a scam. Pretty sure she won't get charged
