We Are att and we got the same text it says it from metropcs.com i immediatly told my wife it must be a scam so i typed it in bing search engine and bam theres many pages reporting this scam also theres a guy from  FBI. ABUSE@COX.NET emailing people saying they want the email address to my gmail account because im a scammer lol i sent that right to scam abuse with my phone company) People will try anything to scare you into a bribe BEWARE ALL!!! i will Be Waiting for You Scammers And when i catch you!!!

Incorrect for metro pcs customers, I'm not one and just got this text.  Are people that desperate to sent a text to people now.

I called this number now & I loved the message that is playing now... Warning gullible callers and a brief intro on Identity Theft.

the providers and IP addresses discovered have been reported to IC3, DHD, and FBI.  no more need to worry folks.

got the number taken down at 1:45pm EST today.

Received suspicious text from "718-534-3799" and called my credit card company directly who has an 800-number. There are no problems with my credit card so suspicions confirmed...deleted text.

I received this text message today and called my bank to verify.  My bank had not sent this message out.

Um Looks like It's only getting METRO PCS Customers!!! It;s always something!! I didn't call I just came on here to look tha number up, and by yalls comments thank you Lord I can stop a scam anywhere!! I hope someones grandmother or grandfather don't go alone with this scam!!

Received text msg from this number on wifes phone. knew is was a scam and deleted thread. saying there was a problem with CC we have.

oh yeah, I just got the magic text from them. I am immediately knew it was a fraud however, I called them and just put all fake numbers in, everything fake. And the  system Accepted it probably super excited thAt they thought they got Another victim. Beware! You can immediatelY tell it's wrong first of all from the waY the operator sounds. Then of course, we have ThaT They menTion no bank name. Call the fCC!

I knew this was a scam because I don't have any credit cards.  Hopefully they get caught soon

I called metro to report the credit card fraud attempt via text to my phone, they informed me that this is not a metro number... I work for a authorized dealer for many different pre paid phone company's and know how the systems works. I will catch one of you low lifes... trust me! next time you pay your bill or even step foot into a store... Watch your a**

Got the text, ignored it! You're cc company isn't going to text you, they will CALL YOU! anyone who gives out their info is stupid.

Got a text telling me I had a credit card problem and to text info about card and myself.  This is a scam.

I got the same exact message. Actually it came in two texts. One with the message about fraudulent use, the next with the "free number" to call.  I didn't answer either and want to thank all for the posts that have been made.  The message has now been deleted.

Got this via text message. But we can fight back! Here's what you do:
Forward the text to your carrier - on ATT it goes to 772-6.
They instantly reply thanks for the content and ask for the number that it was sent from. Because mine was not a number, when I replied with it (it was 1-410-000-001,) they replied: This appears to have originated from an email address. Go back to the original message and reply BLOCK.
I've done this for more than one unwanted spam and it has helped block them.
There's a consortium of all the big providers - they are working to stop this SPAM! So let's all get the word out and do our part too.
If you don't have ATT, you can ask your provider what number to forward to - it might be the same as the consortium is for all providers.

These (expletive deleted) need to be stopped!  I just got the same thing from metro pcs.  How does Metro PCS allow this stuff to happen?  Can't they do anything about scam artists using their name in this way?

I got same text message from 1718534-3799 about fraudulent credit card transaction but didn't call. IT"S a SCAM

I got this message via text today.."New banking message!  Your credit card has been limited due to a transaction that we suspect to be fraudulent.
call free number 1-718-534-3799 and follow the voice instructions to resolve your card restriction.
ViSA/Mastercard all rights reserved."

I didn't want to call it without checking it out first.  Thanks to everyone who posted!

I had just hung up from my bank and I got 2 text messages from this number saying there was fraudulent activity on my card. IT IS FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SCAM TO TRY AND GET YOUR CARD INFORMATION

In the middle of the night & at 2am received 2 of these calls!  Do not reply, no bank would send a notice like this.

got a message today about my credit card being restricted - DID NOT MENTION WHICH ONE - i knew it was a scam - i was curious and wanted to see what happens - called the number - it goes to an automated number where they ask you for your last 4 digits of SSN

i cut the line and came here to report it
DO NOT give out info - if you receive any such messages, ALWAYS call the credit card company customer care first - if something is wrong they will know for sure

Because all you a***oles are too lazy to report it to the police. I already did and they said its the first time they're heard about it.

this number has called several times and now has harrassed me through text messages. Beware!!! Dont ever give out personal information to this or any other unrecognized number. Your identity or your $$$ could be gone forever.
