optimum rewards ,they  never leave a message and if you pick up they hang up about 2 times a day every day for the past week

Called once on a Friday afternoon. Let it ring, no message left. Also receiving calls from 702-751-7510 within the same week.

this is indeed Cablevision,  we have two of their three services and they want us to give us a great deal on the one we don't have, we told them no and take us off there phone list,
we will see if they do.

I have received three calls to my cell phone from 718-559-4080. I read here that it may be a cable company. I never answered the call and today I blocked the number from my cell phone. If you answer the call and it is the cable company (e.g., Verizon), I suggest you Twitter about it or post a Comment on the cable company's Facebook page and watch how fast it stops.

This number call today 6/6/13. They said that this is the promotion department for Optimum (Cablevision) Co. And that they will give me a different  modem -that  is going to cost less per month, then the one I have now. I said that I am not prepared to change anything right now, but that I will call Cablevision if I want to do that. They said -that if I call Cablevision to change that they will be charging me for that , but that they are offering this modem free-as a promotion. I didn't agree to do that, because I really do not trust this promotional call.

Received a call from 718-559-4080 on 5/6/2013 at 12:36pm EDT. Caller ID displayed "Optimum Rewards". Did not answer and no message was left.

Based on the feedback found here I added the number to my Google Voice block list.

I keep getting automated calls from this number 718-559-4080 day & night. I have tried to speak to someone to get myself off the list to no avail.

i wish they stopped calling me. they call 2 to 3 times a day. i know this is cablevision.

thsi number is annoying it calls all day pleae make it stop.

It is Cablevision sales making the calls.  I know someone in the NY office and here is what to do to stop the calls. Even though you may be on the National Do Not Call list, if you have or have had cablevision then they are allowed to call you.
Follow this:
In order for those calls to stop you would need to contact our "Do Not Call" number. The number is 1-888-425-2088. You then will be prompted to enter your telephone number and will hear a recorded confirmation message that your preferences will take effect within 30 days.

Got another of these calls again tonight. Have told them many times in the recent past I am not interested in additional services. Now that i know it is Cablevision again i will continue to ignore the number. thanks for the heads-up on who this pest is again.

I do not answer and they do not leave a message.  Anyone who calls me unsolicited goes to the answering machine.  If they do not leave a message they have zero chance of ever talking to me.  If they do leave a message they may hear from me if it is something I want to talk to them about.

now i know not to answer..but maybe i will and try to sell them my old golf clubs..see how they like it.

ITS CABLEVISION>>>I just want to inform everyone who gets harrassed by cablevision door to door sales men..They are very rude and dishonest they make anywhere from $400 to $1000 dollars off your sale.. My cousin work for them and was bring home $20,000 dollar paychecks yes $20,000 dollars.. But he had to leave because he didnt have the heart to rip people off. He actually left because the TOP salesmen were selling to elderly people with dementia who they knew were incapable of makeing rasional decisions on more then one occasion. THESE GUYS ACTUALLY PREFER TO SELL TO THE ELDERLY.. Also were telling the elderly/mentally handicapped they were with verizon/dish/direct t.v just gonna switch boxes out. Absoulty sicking and distasteful. SO JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHEN THE SALESMEN SAYS      '' I DONT CARE IF YOU SWITCH I GET PAID NO MATTER WHAT" they get paid only on the sale... or " IM TRYING TO HELP YOU!!!! They are 100 percent there to say whatever you want to hear and when there in the nieborhood make sure your elderly nieghbor doesnt get lied to and takeing advantage of...

THEY KEPT CALLING ME 2 TIMES A DAY

I also get several calls a day from this number.  Every two hours.  It leaves a message but there is nothing there.  Really disruptive to my workday.

I have subscribed to the do not call list 2 times for the 718 number as everyone else has and the 888 number in the first post.  this has been over 3 months and I still get the call at 5:30 pm everyday.  I don't even have cablevision.  went to fios and just love it.  cost $3 more per month and worth it. any other ideas to get these idiots off my line?

thanks to this info - ive been getting missed calls from these people so frequently.  months ago i do remember cablevision calling me and i forgot not to pick up again.

This is what I just did.  First I went online into my cell phone account with Verizon and blocked the number for 90 days.  Then I called 718-559-4080 and held until I got to speak to a reprentative of Optimum directly.  I explained calmly that I had recieved 22 phone calls from this number within the past week and that I no longer even live in the Optimum service area.  She transfered me to the Optimum "do not call" line where I then input my phone number.  The Optimum "do not call" list may not go into effect until 30 days after you imput your number, but between this and the temporary block through Verizon it should work immediately.  The whole process took about half an hour.

often when you make a call back to these people they put you on a "responds to telemarketers" list. Simply because you returned their call or tried to get on the DO NOT CALL list! Why? Because you LISTENED and you BELIEVED. never believe them. never listen. never speak.

Thanks to luke for the information - I called the number back and went through the IVR to add my number to the do not call list. They said it would take up to 30 days. Very nice to have this option accessible without even having to talk to a live sales agent.

Cablevision just won't stop calling. James Dolan just loves pissing off customers, both with Cablevision and the Knicks. 6 calls from 8:30Am till 1:00Pm today. Just deplorable!

I've not only tried the do not call prompt on the IVR on call backs, but every time I have to speak with customer service for problems with my service itself I ask to please not be included on the telemarketing calls and I still get the calls frequently, about 3 times today, 10 so far this week.  I would switch to FiOS, however, my previous experience with Verizon both for landline and cell phone was identical to Cablevision, absolutely horrid marketing tactics (couldn't get off their call lists even after services were cancelled) billing problems and lackluster service itself.  The only positive to Cablevision has been their reps that come out onsite for repairs are very thorough and very polite and calls about down service are always very thorough and very polite.  Can't blame the call takers or the contracted repair technicions for the poor infastructure of their system in my town.

If you keep getting the calls after requesting do not call, report them to the national do not call registry.
