These may be "legitimate" calls, but does anyone at Fidelity realize how annoying it is to answer the phone and listen to dead air for the 5 or so seconds it takes for a rep to get on?
If it keeps up, I'm gong to my broker to look for another fund that doesn't involve Fidelity.

http://main.dfking.com/services/     718-559-4093    Keep getting calls - they never leave a message so I'm assuming its a sales call.  When I have picked up they seems shady ASKING me for information instead of telling me my info.
Many posts say they are subbed out by Fidelity. I don't think I have any Fidelity accounts - unless  it has to do with my 401?

Fidelity is a investment company that is having a vote who is going to run things. It take a proxy vote from its shareholders. I f you dont have an account with Fidelity I don't know why they would call.

It is from Fidelity.  They just want to know if you received your proxy
statement for funds you own.  I had to say hello twice before I received a reply. It is entirely inoccuous.  Pick up the phone and reply.

No message. Once picked up (they've called a few times) and they said it was Fidelity. Something about shareholder proxy votes.

call every few days - after reading this, will not answer.  We need blocks on our phones to stop us from running to answer the phone and tripping over the dog - lol.

after saying hello several times a human began speaking - obviously calls are being placed by an auto-dialer - that alone makes me suspicious.   If it is Fidelity and they really want to contact me as a customer they could at least pay somebody to actually call me.

I answered the other day.  They asked if I received my proxy vote in the mail which I did.  Then they explain that the board WANTS ME TO VOTE FOR xyz.  So maybe different people are paying this service to solicit different answers for our proxy votes on the phone.

Very annoying that they are doing this.  And I'm most annoyed that they have my phone #.  NO ONE has my home phone # so I have no idea how the heck they got it.

The call is about mutual fund shareholder proxy votes.  They got my home number from my employer, who has Fidelity managing out 401K funds.  I had ignored the snail mail they sent, so they were calling to pester me to submit my proxy vote online.  So I did.  Hopefully the calls will stop now.

I wasn't home when this number called, but on my answering machine it sounded like a recording of a phone ringing. Like what you hear when you are calling someone on the phone. I do have Fidelity, so that could make sense, since I did just get a proxy packet in the mail.

@Krista - generally speaking, all proxy packets sent to shareholders will include the Board of Directors recommendations. That is there so people who don't closely follow what is going on can just go with what the BoD recommends instead of not voting at all. They often need to have a certain % of people vote, so this helps with that.

I recieved a phone call from them...I'm not a shareholder...nor did I ever do business with fidelity I've asked them to remove me and yet they continue to call...what response should I take now...since yelling isn't appropriate according to you yet...being polite has gotten me no where apparent.

This number 718-559-4093 calls my home every single day.
Says King D on the caller id.  I am on the do not call list, so I do not understand why they are calling me.

(copied from an earlier post - thanks to previous poster for being voice of reason)

The call is from Fidelity.  These are not nuisance or telemarketing calls, and yelling is not an appropriate response.  As a shareholder, you have a say in how the company manages your money.  Either vote or don't, but drama is not necessary here. Open those proxy envelopes- you can register to vote your shares online and never get calls.
