These morons called me up and told me my ID was being used by 5 other people.  I played dumb and managed to keep the idiot and two other guys on the phone for 20 minutes.  They wasted my time, and I wasted theirs.

I kept changing my story about what version of Windows I was using and told them I had a Ganesha 3000 computer that I bought from Apple because they were out of Macs.  The last guy got mad when he called me on saying I was running Linux in parallel with Windows Me and Amiga.  I laughed at him and he hung up.

They are still at it, claiming to be getting error messages from my computer.  The caller, with a thick (Asiatic?) accent, said he was speaking from New York.  I asked him a few questions, to waste his time, but then, not wishing to waste any more of mine, I hung up.  I advise anybody who receives a call making this claim, from this company or any other, to do the same.  These guys are all the same - claiming to have error messages so that they can persuade you to let them take control of your computer "to remove the virus".  I wonder what they do with the information they can get by this method? I bet it's not in my interests.

Criminal scam trying to phish financial information from the unwary.  They pose as Microsoft wanting to help you fix errors on your computer then shift to selling you a warranty extension.

Have you been able to restore your computer? My husband took the call today from the same people and our computer was affected, but so far it seems that I have been able to restore everything to before the call. I was just wondering if you are still having problems.

Same problem I've been having. I've gotten about 4 calls from various people saying they are from Microsoft. My computer is not even on so I know they can't be getting error signals. The number I was given was 718-618-4749 and I was told to ask for Jerry Pepper. Don't fall for this scam!

I received a call from this number and he said he was from Microsoft and wanted to help correct errors that were making my computer run slow.  Before I knew it he was in my computer and shoing me errors that could be corrected.  Then he tried to sell me this program that would clean up the errors.  I refused and hung up.  NOw my computer cannot be stored prior to the time I talked to him.  I have a blank screen when I sign on and all my icons are missing.  I haven't gone further to see what else was done, but I am wondering now why I can't restore before his phone call.  Could they have jeopardize my computer?

Also just got a call from a guy with a heavy accent saying he was from microsoft, and they were getting  errors from my computer and I needed to fix it.  They gave me a call back number of 718-618-4749.  The origin of the call according to my phone IDer was 801-410-7985.  In the background I could clearly hear other people they were doing similar call outs so this was definitely a shop working this scam.  Avery Grimes avegrimes@yahoo.com

I got a call from a company called "Global Connect Cloud". The caller's name was Tom Keller work ID #AB845370. His accent was so thick I could hardly understand him.  He said my computer was sending error messages to microsoft windows.  He told me this company was a provider to microsoft windows.  If I didn't get on my computer and access a code he was going to give me then my computer would expire.  I asked how he knew all this and it was because my computer was sending error messages to windows.  The phone number he gave me was 347-352-0133.  I hung up and didn't call back.

Same thing here as well. A guy with an heavy accent called me from 210-249-0540 purporting to be a PC support tech. He told me that his name was Harry and he was calling because I was using a Microsoft Genuine product. He claimed that he was receiving error reports from my computer communicating with servers. He wanted to take remote control of my PC trough the teamviewer website (http://www.teamviewer.com). I asked if he had a support call ticket number or anything that was proving that he was not hijacking me. He kept saying that computer were complex machines and that it was his job to help me solving the problem! My caller ID gave an unknown caller with this number 210-249-0540. According to Wikipedia, area code 210 belongs to the state of Texas in the San Antonio area. He reached me in Canada...

A lady with a heavy, difficult to understand accent talked with my wife by phone telling her that our computer was sending error messages. When I checked the computer, I did NOT detect any problems or error message. I then entered the number (718-618-4749) that was given to my wife and read the various messages. This sounds like a scam attempt. Also, I had a missed call on my cell from a 206 area code number.

I just got a call from 718/618-4749 purporting to be a tech company for Microsoft and that they are calling because of error reports I have submitted.  they said the represent Microsoft as additional technical service because Microsoft is impacted with error reports.  The person calling said his name was Peter and that he wanted to know if I was in front of my computer now so that he could help correct my problem.  He told me I could call him back at 718/68-4749 ask for him to authenticate him.
