received a call today week from the "Justice department"  A man from (202)470-3353 called me, he said he was working for the Justice Department in DC. He said his name is John Russe and had a strong accent.  He told me to call (718)213-4439 a NY phone number and give them, the them being US. Customs, a package code and I would receive my $875,000.  He went on to say that letters had gone out to me and I had responded.  He quoted an address which I informed him was not accurate.  He stated that I could provide the correct info when I called the 718 number.  After chit chat for about 2 minutes, I informed him that I was fully aware that this was a scam but I was really enjoying speaking with him and would love to talk some more in order for the call tracing to continue :)  Boy, did that change the tone of the conversation.....he called me ignorant and said he was going to tell them not to give me the money because I accused him a running a scam.....It was hilarious because he was so upset....he called me stupid and undeserving.....I said ok, what ever you say, just keep talking....he hung up!  FREAKIN FUNNY but this guy needs to be STOPPED

I received a call last week from the "Justice department"  I am former military and both my husband and I are currently in school and funds are limited.  My friends said to call , 'cause what could it hurt?  A man from (282)580-8164 called me, he said he was working for the Justice Department out of Texas with a DC(I know because I lived there) phone number and a strong accent.  I asked in conversation where he was, (he said TX) and where he was from ( he said Puerto Rico).  He told me to call (718)213-4439 a NY phone number and give them, the them being US. Customs, a package code and I would receive my $875,000. What a crock!

Same scam here.  Wish there was a way to find out how people are getting our addresses and phone numbers to stop this crap.

I received a call today from John Perren (202)580-8157, he said he was from the Dept. of Justice Criminal Division. He said I won a sweepstake and it was being held at JFK Airport in New York so I should call Charles Hitchcock at (718)213-4439 and give him the claim number he supplied me with. I did call a man answered and said he was Charles Hitchcock and I had won $875,000.00 in a Texas sweepstake and they were the Holding House until winners make their claim to the winnings. Of course I asked a few questions and I noticed he got irritatable,,,,,RED FLAG FOR SURE. I stated to him I did not want it he could have it or send it back to where it came from.   Don't these people ever stop, get a life.

Said he was frm dept of justice. Asked me if I filled out publisher clearing house form online.. And said tht publisher clearing house contacted them becuz they had been successful at contacting me and said I won 875,000

Just received the exact same scam call, from a number 1 (202) 580-8164, the person told me to contact a Mr. Charlie Hitchcock from US costumes and border patrol @ (718)285 7040 who then told me I won 875,000 dollars and I needed to send 1% of that for insurance purposes.

I was Mad as hell at theses scum bags, so I called back and told them that I reported the scam to the police, and as I was saying that they hung up? LOL. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!

I just got off the phone with the same people who you talked too. I said the same thing and the guy hong up on me...lol

I received to call from John Perrence as well, and I called the number to get a hold of officer Norman Armstrong and when he said that I needed to pay for insurance for the prize I decided it was too sketchy to continue.  I decided to call the Customs office at JFK International Airport to verify if this Norman Armstrong worked there and although they cannot confirm employment at the office, they assured me that it was very likely a scam because Customs and Border Patron NEVER, I repeat, NEVER calls people in that manner; so be careful with this, it's definitely a scam.

I got a call from someone named Colin Hector 202 609 7034 and he said to call Norman Armstrong at US Customs at phone number 718 285 7889 to claim my prize of $875k. I never called Norman because I knew it was fraud right away. When I told Colin to email me his information his answer was we don't deal with email because it is dangerous to share information via email. I asked Colin if I can call him back and he said yes at the same numebr that called your cell phone. When I called him back it was a cell phone number and why would US Dept of Justice be calling me from a cell phone? makes no sense so I know it's fraud. After reading these posts it helped me confirm. People ask why do people do this? It's because there are people out there that will actually give these thieves money. It's a shame but it must be true because theyre still calling random people. What's really scary is...How are they getting our information, that's what we really have to question. cell phone numbers, names, and addresses...very strange!!

A friend got the same call and asked me to research it for her. This time he was William Burton from the Justice Dept and they were holding $87,000 in unclaimed sweepstakes winnings for her. He called from 718-690-9758 and instructed her to call 202-407-7179. Law of large numbers, if he makes enough calls he will find somebody who will send him money I guess.

This is the second stage to a possible scam. I recieved a phone call from (202)407-7179, from the Justice Dept that stated "I have won "x" amount of dollars in the Publisher Clearinghouse. Yes, I have entered my name in the drawing several times and I do play PCh lotto, slots, search, etc...  So this doesn't seem to far out of reality. Kinda got my hopes up so I tried calling (718)690-9758 and only reached an answering message which I am still skeptical to leave a message. They returned my phone call..  and after all is said and done...  They wanted a check for over $9,000.00  to claim my prize. I said, "Take it out of my winnings" they said that they couldn't do it cause it was in a form of a check. I replied, "I wasn't willing to that" and they pretty much said, "they will send it back"  then hung up on me. Come to think of it..  it sounded like the same guy or family member with a similiar voice. I had to ask them over and over to clarify numbers, names, and other various words. Hope this helps.

They're still doing it.  I got a very similar call today, telephone numbers match although the man's name claimed he was from the Department of Justice and that US Customs was holding a sweepstakes letter for me.  I ihave no recollection of entering a sweepstakes, in fact I am rather anti-sweeptstakes.  I did call the number for U.S. Customs at JFK and of course it went directly to voicemail.  What satisfaction are they trying to achieve

I got a call from some guy going by the name of Steve Baker and he claimed to work for the dept. of justice fraud division.  He called me from a 202-407-7213 number and said I had a package at JFK and I had won a sweepstakes prize of $875,000.00.and they had been looking for me for 15 days and I needed to contact U.S. Customs to pick up the package..He gave me a claim number and told me that I would need to call 516-394-4372 to confirm they had me as a winner of this prize. After speaking to some person named Hector Colon according to him,he said yes you have won second prize and the clearing house has sent the check to U.S. Customs to call 1-718-690-9758 for further information.  Well, someone named William Johnson was the so called agent I spoke with and he told me to send $2100.00 to some trustee in Costa Rica to insure the package and I would be reimbursed by the sweepstakes company.  When I checked the telephone numbers and found out that none of the them were dept. of justice or customs I knew I was right to pay attention to my suspicsions about these pigs.  This is a scam and take my advice, don't send them any of your money.

I received a call from 718-690-9758 today from Norman Armstrong and he told me to  call 516-394-4372   I got the same results as all of the above, and I sure was hoping I wouldn't have to go to work tomorrow.  Seems to be just my luck.

I needed to call their custom divison at 7186909758 because my award from a sweepstakes and they have been trying to reach me for 15 days before it was returned. While on the phone with him I searched the number and found this website. I knew it was too good to be true. I questioned the man on the phone who then said I must not want the prize and hung up on me!

got a phone call from 2025584605 informing me that i won a sweepstakes with a claim prize $750,000. he then told me to call 7186909758 for insurance purpose and to verify the claim and that they have been looking for me for 16 days.........The strange part was that he called himself William Johnson and he sound it sooooooo hispaninc that he could not even know how bad accent he had??. Then he asked me to find myself an insurance that can cover the big check that was on the way to my address and that the insurance will cost me $3,000 to $5,000 dollars. He mentioned that I need it to send  the money  via Western Union or   Money Gram.(???????) to cover the shipping and procedures purposes. Why not take the money of the grand total or pay the taxes in the state instead.? I asked. This is a very bad scan wish I can do something to this people.
When i first heard of this i was excited and called my brother to confirm the company, he ask me to google it and he  googled the phone # and nothing turned up.this is a fraud.

i received call from department of justice and they told me i won money and i have yo call this number 7186909758  to give my claim no and get my price when i called Norman Armstring and he need insuranse mopney through westren union to make payment to LLOYDS LONDON. It doesnt amke sense for me and i try to search both number. Thanks everyone for your comments.

My mom just received the same call.  She and my sister were super excited.  My mom allegedly won money from a sweepstakes in Washington but had to call (718) 690-9758, ask to speak to Mr. Norman Armstrong and got a reference number for the package.  My mom was told to pay for the insurance and just tender the receipt when she picks up the package.  My sister spoke with Norman.  When I tried calling back I just kept getting the voicemail.  I'm glad I googled the number and got the information.  My mom was disappointed but I prefer for her to be disappointed now and not several thousand later.  Thanks everyone for your comments.

They just  tried to call me with the BULL! Once I told them that I would have my lawyer on retainer check into it, they hung up on me too! Please be aware it is a FRAUD don't fall for it. DON'T send them a dime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also received a message from this company, a Mr. Frank Dornan, telling me to call Mr. Norman Armstrong, because I have won $875,000 dollars. But after researching, I found out this is a fraud. Thank you everyone for commenting on this matter. This call came from supposedly US customs. Please people beware of the Trojan horse.
