I believe these are the people running yet another scam opporation which uses disposable cell phones. They tell you they are attorneys and that you have to pay for something you owe them for by noon, or they will have you arrested. I do not know where they got my information, but they are also calling my work. I have turned the number over to the FCC.

My grandma had this same scam pulled on her, albeit with a few twists. Originally she received a call from a man under the alias Michael Collins who informed her that she had won amounts in excess of 9.8 million, citing a charitable donation as the origin of the prize. She was then informed that she would receive an imminent call from an attorney representing the Rothschild law firm. This man then called back using the alias Anthony Spencer, claiming that he had been hired externally to deal with the transaction. At this point my grandmother, who had experienced these calls before, inquired as to whether she owed the individual anything for his services or any additional fees. He informed her that all was covered and that after she returned from her trip they would meet in person at a bank to deal with the transaction. I cannot see where the scam is in this scenario, however, it is apparent that many of you have seen similar fraud attempts occur and thus I will caution her against complying with the caller.

My parents received the exact same call this past week. I agree, this needs to be stopped & some form of action taken against this company/individuals. I'm checking to see if the local news can make the public aware that this is a SCAM!

Same story from Rothschild Investments however my scammers use the Wounded Warriors charity as the supposed organization giving this money to me.   Scams are sickening but using the American Soldier in this way is even  more sickening to me.

Just remember, these people attempt to prey on the older and they use the so called winnings as a hook to churn up the greed.

It's fun to lead these people on, then pull the plug on them when they have spent so much time selling the scam to me.  I think turn about is fairplay.  :)

Three weeks ago I received a call from George Stevens. He stated he was with the company of Morgan Investments NYC. 646-593-8085. I learned later the 646 area code is for mobil phones.

He told me I had won a sweepstakes and told me to write down the file claim number ( 22038197 ).Yhe winnings was for 9.8 mllion dollars. I was advised not to talk to anyone. Mr Stevens also told me to stay by the phone and Mr.Joseph Reed ( a financial advisor ) assigned to my claim would call me in about 30 minutes.
Mr Stevens called. His number 888-5659135 ext 527. He also told me I would need an access code number to call him and he would give to me the number the next time he called. He has not given me this number. However I have called  George Stevens and he put my call through to Mr Reed.

At this time   2-29-2012 , Joseph has told me the winnings are being held in a bank in Madrid Spain. He is working to certify who I am so the money can be released to a US bank. Also a Ms Galloway from Jenkins and Miller , and they are a law firm in the country of Panama . At this time Mr Reed told me I need to Certify who I am to Jenkins and Miller by getting a Cashiers check for $1240.00 made out to Jenkins and Miller. By doing this Jenkins and Miller will get the money released and transfered to a bank here in the US. That is where I am at today 3-1-2012. I will be talking to Mr Reed later this AM. I know this is a scam. Be aware if anyone else this the same kind of call. I want all the info I can get to turn over to the FBI and local police. And anyone else to get these people stopped.

Prank Call
My elderly mother (89) received a call from these people stating that she had won a lottery through the Veterans. The first caller was a Joseph Reed but during the second call, Arthur Wriley stated that Reed no longer worked for the company. The next guy that called used the name of Arthur Wriley. I called the number they gave her (646.593.8085) and he did in fact answer the phone. Several months prior, she received a letter stating she had won a lottery in Spain, but would have to fly to Madrid to collect the money. Now she is receiving calls stating that she has won over $9.8 million. The names of the lawyers that are to call her for personal information in order to draw up the legal documents are Michael or Mike Collins or Christopher Burton. I have told my mother not to give them any personal information and in fact to have them call me as her finanical representative. They are to call tomorrow at 10a. We will see if they do. After reading all these posts, my suspicions are confirmed that this is a hoax. Please be aware and be careful.

My mother recieved same type of call from a Robert Spencer claiming to be with Rothchild Investments out of New York.  There is no Rothchild office anywhere in New York.  He said that she won 9.8 million in a sweepstakes from Spain.  That they would send a round trip ticket for her and companion to fly to Spain to claim it.  He mentioned her name and date of birth and asked her to confirm it, well she did unfortunately.  She has received 2 calls so far, each time giving her a name of someone who will call her next.  Something has to be done about this.

I was informed that I had won 9.8 million in a sweepstakes.  I have been called several times and the last time by a Michael Collins, so called lawyer.  Today I was to have a conference call and asked to have my financial adviser on the line--NO CALL. SO THE ANSWER IS THE SAME AS ALL THE ABOVE.    SCAM, SCAM.  HOW CAN THESE SCAMMERS BE CAUGHT?

My mother received a call from a woman, and then George Stevens and finally, Joseph Reed.  They told her she won $9.8 million dollars from a sweepstakes in Spain.  My mother is elderly and can be confused, but she has been good about not giving out her personal information for the most part.  Joseph Reed asked her who she donated money to and when Mom said the Veteran's and Children, then he told her she had won the sweepstakes through the Veteran's.  He has talked several times over 2 or 3 days to my mother and my sister who lives with Mom and makes it sound very legitimate....don't give out personal info, have a financial advisor on hand, we don't take any part of the winnings, will be flying out there in a week or so and will do the electronic transfer, works for Rothschild in NY and blah, blah, blah.  The number he used is different...646-593-8085, ext. 527.

I was called by Robert Brown on November 19, 2010, and told that I had won a large amount of money. On November 22, 2010 I was called by Michael Collins, and 3 hours later by Joseph Reed.
I was given the above telephone number 718-732-1310. Joseph Reed told me that I had won a large
amount of money in a sweepstakes 11 months ago, but I had not claimed my prize. Joseph Reed
said he would fly out to Ohio, and about one week, and he would bring papers for me to look at
before I would receive my check. He assured me that I would receive my check before Christmas.
These men said they represented Rothschild of New York.

My parents had a call from this same number 718-732-1310 and they even gave an ext. 527 to call back.  Said they were with Rothschild. Same story of winning a sweepstakes and was surprised they had not returned the claim forms. The man's name was Henry Decker.  I called to speak with the man and of course he wasn't in.  He then called my parents the next day and claimed he missed my call and to confrim who I was.  He ask that I call him back the next day at 9 am and he still wasn't there.  They would not connect me to his extension, so I left a message.  I called 3 times within 10 minutes and got 3 different MEN answering the phone and had the excuses, he is not in, his voice mail is full, let me look on my computer...he is not in yet, at which point they disconnected me twice and once just hung up when I ask what kind of scam they were trying to pull on people!  It's really sad! I just called one more time for kicks and they disconnected me again.  I pray people don't give out their information.

Prank Call
I started receiving phone calls last Wednesday the 29th of September 2010 from the so call company about winning a sweepstake about 11 months ago. They had my home address and phone number. Since then I have received a call on the 30th of September 2010 and on the 4th of October 2010. I have thought that this is a scam so I have not given much information out. Since reading these entries, I'll inform them about knowing that they are scammers. Thanks to all on this site.

Recieved several calls over the past week regarding an alledged win in the December 2009 El Gordo Spanish lottery.  Names I have been given are: Robert Spencer, Account Dept. of Rothschild Securities,Thomas Walker, Attorney , William Powell, President of Rothschild Securities, and a Jenkins and Miller Law Firm in Panama City, Panama that could handle investments from my win.  I have not been able to locate any of these individuals as legitimate.  They made it all sound so real. Gave me an account number, a file number, their phone number and address in New York and even a number of the so called winning ticket (which does not match with the El Gordo winning number as posted on the internet). I had sense to not give out any information about myself or my bank.  I now agree that this is just another scam targeted at us senior citizens.

call came to my parents and said my mom won millions in the Spanish lottery. Said an attorney would call back the next day to talk with her. 3 weeks passed and the "attorney" called and said the President of  Rothschild Investment Corporation (Mr. Powell) would call next week. Found out the legitimate Rothschild Investment Corporation is based out of Chicago (not the Bronx where the phone call came from) and their President is NOT a Mr. Powell. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. Calling the cops and the FBI - beware.

I took a call for my husband from Anthony Spencer On Friday.  He told me that my husband had won a sweepstakes prize.  He said he did not know which sweepstakes it was, but he would call back to give me the name of the attorney who would handle the account.  He called back and gave the name of Harold Winston.  (I really didn't expect to hear back because I was very suspicious and asked a lot of
questions.)  Today,Monday 6\7/10 I received a call from Harold Winston, who said he was the attorney handling this account. He again said he represented Rothschild Securities and gave me the correct spelling and address because I said I couldn't find themlisted on tne better business bureau.Harold Winston gave me the number 718-732-1310 as his direct line, so I could call him back.  He gave me a lot of info about Rothschild Securities and told me the name of the sweepstakes was Spanish El Gorgo.
He made a joke of my not remembering entering this sweepstakes 11 months ago.  Beware!  He used the names of legitimate companies and sweepstakes.  I looked up this sweepstakes on Google and found the following remarks on scamwatch: "Lottery scams will often use the names of legitimate overseas lotteries (often Spanish lotteries) so that even if you do some superficial research, the scam will seem real....It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to win these lotteries if you have not bought a ticket from an authorized distributor in Spain."

I received a call today also telling me that I had won a sweepstake prize of money. They ask me a lot of questions and told me that their attorney would be calling me to follow up on the information within a 24 hour period of time. The person that talked to me told me his name was Anthony Spencer and he was with the Wild Child Charity out of New York. I also had caller I.D. and it was from: do not send.
