Now they are calling people in other countries. I just got the call and I live in Norway. Just hand up.
Called my wife, said something about being from Windows and was getting error messages. She pretended he was a stalker and hung up. Amazingly, he called back using an Unknown ID 3010 the second time. His accent was really thick, so hard to hear everything he said. I'm reporting to the National Do Not Call Registry.
This 718-745-5293 called me and i live in north norway and the number is from new york so i dont think i ever will answer it :p
Called offering "professional help" to help me locate my missing pet i had advertised as LOST!!
Gail from Canada
Same comments! Heavy accent trying to get info about my computers.
I just got a call tonight from 7187455293 with the same scenario. A man with a thick accent from "Windows Service Center" called asking me if I am the primary user of my computer and requested that I log on. I asked him why, if he were calling from Windows, did my caller ID say PAYPHONE 7187455293... this confused him and he decided to stop talking. not sure if he hung up or just went silent.

first got a call from 607-594-4641. Thick accent saying they were from Microsoft & my computer had problems. Knew it was scammers right away, but I was bored and figured I'd lead them on for a bit. Could barely understand what this person was saying, but just kept saying 'ok' or 'yes'. I think he wanted me to be near my computer. Then he tells me to hold on while he gets his 'supervisor'. I hung up. They call me back right away, this time from 718-745-5293. Same person tells me we were disconnected & hold on for his supervisor again. Supervisor comes on with some English name, spoke better english but with an accent, starts telling me about Microsoft error reports blah blah blah. Wasn't having any fun so I just told them I don't have time for this and hung up. Was going to block these numbers but I already have 10 numbers blocked, which is Verizon's limit, from other past scammer calls. Does anyone actually fall for this bs?
Grammatical errors galore.

Call from 718 745-5293
Heavy accent-Caller said 'they' are getting error messages from my computer registration. Am I near my computer so, I can turn it on? Asked him for his company name & how they got my 'registration number. He mumbled. Asked him to read registration number; he fired off a long list of letters & numbers and asked me to check my computer. Asked for his callback number. Mumbled again, wanted to know why I need it, but gave me a 9 digit number. Insisted it was a valid #, although short by one digit. Then gave me a 10-digit number beginning with '890' & asked if I was going to call. I said 'no', but I was entering it in a database. At this point I could barely hear him; asked him to speak louder & if I have his permission to record the call. He hung up. LOL.
No one is using this pay phone to make these calls. They're calling from elsewhere, using VOIP (Internet phone) and falsifying their Caller ID to show this number instead of their real number.
FYI this is a pay phone number located in kings county New York, bay ridge Brooklyn to be exact. If you are continually being harrassed from this number call Verizon and report it, they will investigate who is using this pay phone to make solicitous calls.

I never pick up the phone, thought it was my daughter. So - I received a call from: also a man with a thick accent, couldn't understand anything he said. I interupted him and said: I don't donate over the phone, I don't buy anything over the phone, put me on your do not call list and I hung up. My caller ID says: York New, I figure they meant New York, they can't be from NY, not with the accent and such broken english, you can't make it out.
Just got a call from this number, they hadn't even trained her properly, she paused about 5 seconds between each sentences, talked a bit because I found her amusing. I just kept asking yes, and what do you want. Yes, and what do you want LOL. Finally got tired of the game and told her no thanks and hung up.
If I find out who keeps calling me I am going to drag them to the police by the short and curlies, hopefully over broken bottles and manure...
First few times they called saying its about our computer (asked for my husband by his first and last name) but the last time they said they were calling to refund me for the security program I had purchased!
Haha not gonna fall for that! Be very careful, they are sneaky! Big time scammers.
This scam is trying to get you to a WEB site that will AUTOMATICALLY download spyware to your machine, then you're screwed!
DON'T FALL FOR THIS PEOPLE!!! Just hang up. The number was spoofed and these people (losers) are NOT from MS.
Phone kept ringing and ringing at my Mom's. She couldn't make out the number and was worried it was important so I picked up and a guy with a heavy accent got on wanting information on a computer saying he was from Microsoft. I told him, "Your business calls from a payphone?? Forget it!" I hung up on him and told my Mom not to worry about it. That it is a scam.
What showed up on the caller ID was PAYPHONE and then the number, 718-745-5293
These people wont stop calling me... never leave a message!!!

Got a call from area code 718; I don't know anyone in New York State and I am in Canada. No message was left but when I called this number, a recording indicated that this number was not in service. Sure would like to know how these phone/ pc hackers are able to access and use number that "are not in service"!!!
Got a call from this #. Guy with thick east Indian accent said my windows software was sending out malicious e-mails. I told him I have an apple computer and he hung up on me. Called the # back and a recording says this # is not in service. I'm in Canada and this # is from the Bronx, new York, USA. Isn't this against some sort of federal fraud law or something. Not to mention shouldn't Microsoft be doing something about this.

Got a call today from a guy with a thick accent. He gave the usual speach about being from a Microsoft approved computer support company and that my computer was having problems. He asked if I did have a Microsoft computer. I told him that I had a Mac. He started to mubble something and I said "I know this is a scam, a*****e." He then hung up. About 30 seconds later he called back twice on 647-288-1790 and sounded angry. He asked me to repeat what I last said. I said I knew it was a scam, then he said "say again!" I repeated it then he hung up. Cool.
