i'm getting calls from the Indian guy myself.  I could not understand his voice mails because the phone was breaking up.  Finally I answered the phone and told him I could not understand him.  Then he called back and I told him that if they contact me via phone once more I will contact the local authorities.  Thank you everyone for all of the info you have posted.  Luckily I looked up the number before I answered. I had asked where he was and he told me CA and I asked him why am I getting a law enforcement call from CA...He said thats their main office. ( I live in TN).  yeah, whatever...lol

Here is an excerpt from my previous post, which tells you what you need to do:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

Thank you for this posting.  My 19yr old just started getting these calls two days ago and talk about nasty little poop heads!  (Nice way of say what I really think)  Yes they are nasty to women and very threatening.  Moments ago I filed a complaint with FTC and pretty much figured it was empty threats but nasty and annoying.  Gave our child a reality check of again never>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>give out SS# especially on internet even if its for a job application can do this in person if hired. But his posting really made it clear what we are up against and what to watch for!

I recieved the same call. They had all my information except bank info but had my social. I found out it was a fraud when i contacted the company they claimed to be working for and they said they have been dealing with this problem for months. After I got off the phone I immediatly contacted the FBI field office in Boston. I told them what had happened and gave them the company name and number. The FBI said they are going to open an investigation on the "department of law and investigations" and would contact there Denver office to look into it. The FBI said they would stay in contact with me and keep me posted... So when I know more, i'll let everyone else know.

Shirley this number kept coming up on my phone. The first time I answered I just heard a lot of noise in the background. They called a couple of more times again and on the 4th call I answered. It was some Indian guy and I could not understand a word he was saying. I did understand when he identified himself as an officer. I told him to put someone on the phone that spoke english. He did, but he was Indian as well and not much better. He got real nasty telling me that I had conducted some kind of financial fraud. I went off and it wasn't too nice. Who are these people?

I receied a message today, 02/01 from a Jason Smith.  I retruned the phone call and spoke with Adam Smith.  I was told that I have unpaid loan with cash net which is a company I never had any business with.  Adam Smith advised that I owed money to cashnet, then proceeded to give me social security number, e-mail address, and banking information.  I told him that the information was not for me becausue I suspected I was being scammed.  Any loans that I have are paid in full and I have proof of this through my bank statements
