Possible Phishing attempt.  Text message stating:  "Need some quick cash? You can easily get $1200 wired into your bank account today! For info, just reply back the word "PAY".  (To cancel: reply STOP)"

Ignore it, and DO NOT reply anything!  They're scam phishing for suckers who own cell phones. NEVER reply to messages like these.  Ignore them and there is abetter chance they will leave you alone.

Got a similar message as above:

"Still need some quick cash? Get up to $1,500 wired into your bank today! Just fill out an easy 3 minute form at WWW.1500TOME.COM (reply STOP to cancel)."

My question is how do these scammers get my number? Is it in a database somewhere? I refuse to put my phone number online, always have, so are the people sending these texts just sending them out to randomly generated phone numbers? I receive about 2 of these a month.  It's not so much irritating as it is annoying at that rate, but I don't like that replying 'STOP' doesn't actually seem to be any remedy at all.

I have unlimited texting on my cell phone plan, but not everybody does.  Assuming you paid for each text you received, as some people do, shouldn't it be illegal for these texts to be sent to you?  It's like getting junk mail and being charged for the postage.

I'm on a national do-not-call list, but that obviously doesn't apply to texts, though I think it should.

I just deleted it. I never responded PAY in the first place. 1 wasted message on my cellphone. I don't have unlimited txt and I get this crap.
