Good old Mr. Pete Welch is a scammer! I decided to look him up online since he called a few times and would leave only his name and number and wanted to talk to our manager. DO NOT CALL HIM BACK!! After doing some digging, I found this and read the post from other people who have encountered the same thing as us! He is just trying to get money from companies and saying he is in advertising!!

This guy also calls from 712-258-4021.  He does not answer your questions and hangs up on you but expects you to put the call through to upper management.

Pete Welch left a message for me, the owner of the business. I always red flag when people don't leave their company name or why they are calling, but this one slipped through the cracks. He called from a 712 area code, though, not 719 as this is listed as (maybe too many posts out here?). Same as some of the other posts, wanted to find out more about my business. I HATE when people try to hide what they do... Do you think that will motivate me to buy from you? No- it's the exact opposite! I will never buy from you. Based on these posts, I certainly won't buy now. Sorry, Pete, it's straight to VM from now on....

People moving out, people moving in, I can't tell by the color........................skin. C'mon. Millions on welfare, subsidies, bankers ripping the taxpayers off. Far more trying things to worry about than Pete Welsh, or whoever he is!! Getting to the priorities. Call your congressman. Perhaps all these whiners are on welfare. Nice you can afford the internet. How funny!!

Give it up Pete. No client of yours knows (or cares) how many contacts you make per day, how much you make or how many calls you make to each prospect.

I find it fascinating. We have been a client of Pete's for years. No problems. He still makes 200 contacts per day. He still sells a lot of business. He does not even look at what people post anonymously online. He does not collect the money. His company does. He still makes 6 figures a year. So, what does all this whining and silliness on these posts accomplish? Pete is still working and doing quite well. Would your boss like the fact that you are spending all your time with these postings?

Shouldn't you get back to work. Pete ain't going away. He makes 1 or 2 calls to a potential client. Then that's it. Everyone has to get over it. Life is too short.

I got the "call me back" message, too. "Wanted to ask me about our publication". Called back and found that he was selling advertising for a local radio station in the Phoenix area.

@Janet  Yes, Pete may just be doing his job, but he apparently doesn't do it in a very transparent manner.  Instead of stating "I just have a couple of questions for you about (insert company name here)" How about just leaving a message stating your business.  If you're trying to sell me something just say so, if I want it I'll call you back.  If I don't I won't.  Very simple.

Looks like "Pete Welsh" is such a do not call violator (scam?) that he has hire one of those pathetic "reputation repair" companies to spam post phony "positive things" about him to try to counter the fact that "Coloradospg" is a god damn scam

Good Old Pete calls 3 times a week and leaves the same message. It for Radio advertising on awful talk radio stations. He always wants to know more about my business. His number pops up on caller ID and let it go to voicemail. The guys sales approach is awful at best.

he is unprofessional, seems sleezy and does not understand basic business practices.

anyone that can not share basic information for screening calls will not be put through, period.

Call from 719-543-1912. There was live person on the line. It was a legitimate business call.
Caller: Peter Welsh.

Our company was contacted by Pete. He asked us to respond to the vitriol on this site. Have never had problems with Pete or his sales tactics. he does not collect money. Does not take credit card #'s from clients. Calls and sells the psa's. We live in a capitalist society. We rely on sales. It's simple. If you don't want to be part of this, tell him so. Don't post and act condescending. A scam? How could it be? He only asks you to participate. He is far more professional that any other sales executive that we deal with.

Update: now he's claiming to be selling ad sponsorships for a local radio station. I'm going to contact them to let them know he's got complaints on his tactics.

Same problem as others have reported -- only thing new to add is that he's apparently using Chamber of Commerce member lists so be sure to alert your local chamber so others can be aware of him.

I don't have a problem with sales people. I have a problem with people who lie. This guy lied to the receptionist to get me on the phone and he lied to me when I spoke with him. What sales man can't tell you what company they are representing??
