Wondering if anyone has had a call from this number..when i ask who they are..they rudely hang up

I received a call from 719-623-5388 and they claimed to be a police protective association.  My number is unlisted and I have repeatedly asked them to take me off their list (the time period is over 3 years).

Same experience as earlier VICTIMS of this scam caller.

The number on the caller ID showed 719-623-5388.  When I answered, there was a pause, then a computer generated message that was cut off at the beginning, but I did recognize "Police Protective Association" and gave a 1-800 number to call back once, which was way too fast to write down or remember, then the message ended.  It didn't repeat and the line disconnected.

Personally, if I don't initiate the call, I do not donate to anyone....PERIOD!  There are many good charities including the Police Protective Association.  If you desire to donate to them, just look up their phone number in the phone book, call them and ask them the best way to donate.  NEVER, NEVER donate by phone if you did not initiate the call!  That goes for giving up your personal information.  In this day and age, you can't be too careful.

Made the "mistake" of donating to the Colorado Police Protection. I say "mistake" because I feel it is a good cause and I like to support it. But they already send me mailings which I reply to. There is no reason for them to constantly spam my home phone with these calls as well. It is really turning me off and against the Colorado Police Protection Fund where I am losing my interest and desire to help them. Much like the Disabled American Vets. I donate to them when I can, but whenever they do a drive the call my home up to 6 times a day. To me, that isn't fundraising, that is harassment. I keep telling them I am on the no call list and they say they will remove my name, but the next drive it continues.

Anyway, came upon this site that talks about companies spoofing to be from the Colorado Police Protection fund so maybe the phone calls are only  spoofs and the mailings are the only legitimate fund drive.

The guy admitted that he was a paid telemarketer and was soliciting donations for the Colorado Police Association. Wanted to "put me down for $25" and he would send me some sticker to put on my car. Totally a scam. I even said we are on the "no call list". Didn't phase him one bit. He kept on trying to sell.

Constant calls from the above number and all they do is hang up

Asked how long I had the phone number and hung-up

Same police scam - hung up rudely at first "no, can't donate now". very concerned this is a scam too.

Would not leave message.

asked for my name, told them they had the wrong address then googled their number and see this is a pattern.

I agree, when I actually answered, they just hung up on me.  What are they trying to find out, if they called a valid number?

These people are rude and hang up on you. They claim to be from the Police Protective Association. I think it's a scam.

They called frequently and called themselves "policy protection" to ask for donations.  They normally talk very rude and hung up phones right away.  I don't believe that the money collected were send to policy.
