Got a call from these scammers they said if I don't pay them 1000 today they are coming to my home address and picking me up and arresting me.  They then asked me for my home address so they can come and get me I laughed so hard as how are you going to come and get me if you don't even have my address so I gave them both my residential and my work and it has been a month and still no one has come to get me .  Ha ha be aware don't let them scare you this is by far a scam.

I received a call from this number today stating I owe money and that they will put a warrant out for my arrest if I do not pay. I told them to send me a bill and they asked for my address, which I refused to give them. They did not know my address. He is using the name "Jacob Chase" he is calling my home and cell repeatedly.

This same Number called me and I couldn't understand the voicemail but what I did get is that they called from the lawyers office about money on loans and told me to call back, I did and it was busy.   Last Friday I got a call from many different calls from a lot of different numbers 20+.  A girl from my work and I work on a pt floor in a hospital, called me and told me an Officer John Walker with the Federal Trade Commission wanted to talk to me, she wanted her to give him my phone number, and then wanted her to relay the message to me.  She did say that they guy did not sound like an American it sounded like he was from India.   So I called the phone number 850-910-8076 and a guy who had an India accent answered and wanted the number that was called and then transferred me back to the John Walker who was not American.  This guy gave me is last 4 of my social security number, and told me I had a complaint against me on my "social security number", and then the phone dropped.  I got on my computer and looked up the number on google and you should of seen how many people who almost got scammed like me.   After the phone call dropped he called my work 4 more times and me about 6 on my cell phone.  And the last one I was actually talking to the FBI, and had them on speaker and put him on speaker.  And the agent said this is the FBI and I suggest that you stop calling this number.    Well they have not called my work or my cell phone again, but then I get this phone number calling me.   When do they stop.....   Next time I am going to answer the phone and tell them that FBI is tracking this number.  So be carefull these people are trying everything they can to get people social security number   And I was also told by the FBI that the number is from Florida and the Federal Trade Commision (which I also contacted and reported it) is in Washington DC.

No, it is NOT legal. A lot of these scammers attempt to sound scary because they don't want you asking questions, they just want to steal your money. Do NOT give in to them!



What practices are off limits for debt collectors?

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

Someone called saying they were from US cash lending and they had a warrant out for my arrest. Told me I need to pay 691.00 I informed him I didn't have that kind of money he said then be ready for the cops to show up at your place of business with a warrant for your arrest. He also left a voicemail stating verbatim  that if I didn't comply with the message or return the phone call he wishes me good luck as the situation unfolds on me. The number he called from is 720 324-2619 Tim Richards and Adam woods. Is this even LEGAL?

THEY KEEP CALLING MY JOB NEVER GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION

THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT I OWED A BUNCH OF MONEY, HEY CLAIMED THEY WERE FROM A LAWYERS OFFICE..SAYING THAT THEY WERE GOING TO PUT A WARANT OUT FOR MY ARREST...WHEN I ASKED FOR THE COMPANY THEY SAID THEY WERE FROM US CASH LENDING AND THAT I HAD A LOAN ..I TRIED ASKING FOR US CASH LENDINGS NUMBER AND HE INSTEAD STATED THAT US CAHS LENDING HANDED THE CASE TO THEM.. THEY CALLED MY CELL AND SOMEHOW CALLED MY WORK... WHAT THE HELL

Called my cell (telemarketing to a mobile number is ILLEGAL, regardless of any do-not-call list) and gave me some nearly unintelligible jumble about me winning a drawing and that I was a VIP for some travel scam.

I stopped her right there and told her to I was filing a report with the FTC (I am, right after this, as should anyone else who reads this), and to remove me from their lists, and never call me again. I hung up

I had answered this phone call around 8pm... I couldnt understand one thing the woman was saying.  Sounded like a type of chinese or something.  I asked her how she got my number and i also asked who she was asking for never once answered... then again if they had responded then i wouldnt have understood.  She then hung up and i just thought it was a prank call because i heard a ton of laughing in the background

I had a friend try calling, but nothing.

Called me around 8:30PM, I didn't pick up. I tried calling it back a few minutes later and it never rings. Just silence. Bizarre.

They called my cell 10/5/11 just before 9pm, not asking for me by name, and mentioned travel, and I hung up.

Today I got another scam call from a different #.  It seems some scammers have bought a phone list from someone.

came thru on my cell.  very difficult to understand the person (english was not primary language).  i could hear a lot of other people in the background, so i knew it was some telemarketer group.  lady started spouting off about that they just opened a new office in Fort Worth and that I had won a vacation.  I interrupted her and asked her if she knew my name. repeated my question 2-3 more times and she hung up on me.

Got a couple calls from this number and the calls won't stop!!!!  Whoever the heck it is can't seem to grasp the concept, that I am not wanting to talk to whoever is calling!
