Yeah - I know about that existing business relationship exemption. Usually those sorts of companies actually do honor a do not call request from the consumer, probably because those companies are legit and don't want to lose your business! It's those fraudulent telemarketers like the air duct cleaners, "Rachel" fron Card Services, and bogus collection agencies looking for someone else that ignore all DNC requests :-) !

Thanks, I thought so, too! Wish I could take credit but it was auto assigned; gonna keep it tho'!! RE: Individual DNC...unfortunately there ARE some companies that don't underestand the term "business ethics" and will "tweak" program codes to side step, if you will, bottom line commands (I'm not a techie but I understand just enough to be dangerous!), such as perhaps allowing a number to remain on-record for one more call. As a general rule...legally speaking, of course...it takes up to 24 hrs to comply, depending on the number of records on hand. Now regarding the National DNC Registry, there is a "loophole" called Existing Business Relationship", or EBR, whereby a "3rd party" that works with or has an agreement with that company (legalese for "we share your information") may indeed call you. Also, if you call ANY of those companies for information, product or service purchase or even if you have a problem with said product & need assistance then you, yourself, have effectively initiated an EBR. If that happens, the only thing to do is to make sure you state, emphatically, "Now then, please remove my number from your records & place me on your Do Not Call list; thanks...bye!" Hope this clarifies.

First of all, your monster is super-cute! I do want to say that people still stand a good chance of repeat calls even after trying to get themselves on a company-specific DNC list. So many of these telemarketers already call in violation of the federal DNC list, so if they don't honor that, they certainly aren't going to honor individual requests to be taken off their call list. Some do but most of them do not.

I could be mistaken but I THINK the only thing required for ID is that the calling number itself must be displayed, without "Private" or "Restricted". I will re-check this though, just to be sure. The Gallup Poll and other survey companies use this method to gather demographic data that you see referenced on networks such as CNN, MSNBC and HLN during elections. I am still researching this issue.

Just FYI...most telemarketers are prohibited by law from leaving voice messages. There are certain types of companies which are exempt from this law, however. Google (or whatever) "who is exempt from telemarket laws" for clarification. Bear in mind that unless you answer the phone & request to be put on that companies Do Not Call list you stand a good chance of repeated calls...even if you have registered your number with the Natl. Do Not Call List.

720-452-5695 This call is from Congressman Tim Tancredo. He is trying to build support to regulate and totally legalize marijuana. I did not answer the call. If they want my vote or opinion? Then have the decency to put their identity in the caller i.d. I REFUSE to answer ANY call that does not show the caller.
