I am currently having the same problem with "Ryan" on a dating site.  Very persistent and won't take no for an answer.  Insists on my calling him even though I've told him I'm not interested.  Finally blocked him and glad I did.

I keep getting texts from this number saying hi. He said his name is Ryan but when I looked it up it came up as Jeremy Ronquill. Keeps asking me what are you doing or send me a pic Sorry I don't text randomn people and I certainly do not send pics to strangers. Not to mention that I am happily married and I plan to stay that way. So please leave me alone or I will call the police.

I'm on a dating site and received a Chat from someone named Ryan, who did not have his photo on this site (red flag). He said he wanted to get to know me and gave me his number, asking me to text him. I was suspicious (his profile says he's 30 years younger than me), so I did a reverse number lookup and found this site - so glad I didn't text him, because he would have my number!

I just received a text from this creep to! Same scenario!! , you can always report a harassment if this continues

I just got this today! All the same scenario and text. This is the second time this month I"ve gotten it from a random text number and the guy does not ring a bell, I asked for his picture and he doesn't reply and then asks what I'm doing. If you get a text from a 970 from a guy name Matt, do not answer it as well.

Got a message saying Hi!

Yeah, he has texted me about 10 times. Saying Hi each time. When I responded asking his name. He said Ryan. When I asked where I know him from he said it's been a long time and he doesn't remember. Later he asked for a picture.

(I have a friend named Ryan and was thinking he might have got a new number) so asked if his last name was "jones" and said I was recovering from a cold. He replied that he must have dialed my number in by accident because he was trying to text his buddy and that he was sorry but just in case he wanted to know my name, So I gave him a random name and he started to actually flirt with me! saying that I sounded sexy and he hit the jackpot by being able to talk to someone "sexy" I told him I was married and he was like "Oh man I respect marriage but your still cute and I like you"
(have no clue what he's talking about because there were no pictures sent or anything!)
and I didn't respond a few hours went by and he sent another text saying "Text me when you can"
So I blocked his number.
I think he must have gotten my number off of my website which was linked to Craigslist.

I agree.  This must be an SMS Bot.  I just posted an add on Craigslist.  He says his name is Ryan.  He did not answer his phone when I called, but the voice mail did say Ryan.  He sounded like he was in his 20's. He always "apologizes" and does ask "What's ur Name?"  many times.

It's an SMS Bot, it will get your number from Craigslist (I know because that's the only place it's out there) and text you with Hi.  If you write back, it will say "Oops wrong number, I'm sorry" and "What's ur Name?"
