another fundraiser..

they keep calling and ask for me by name.  I have an unlisted number

PA Chief of Police assosciation to donate for their fundraisers. Non profit. Supposedly goes to retired police in PA.

It is Chiefs of Police and although they are non-profit they are not tax deductible.   They also ask for me by name and when my babysitter answered the phone they tried to get her to pledge money when she told them I wasn't home!!!   This is for rewards and bonuses for police.

1-724-209-6609 PACOP on FEB 20, 2008. no message. I have a private # how do they get this?

I received a call from 724-278-1560 under the listing PACOP, no message was left.  I have been on the do not call list for years.  Who are these people?

I got a call form a PACOP but the number was 1-724-278-1560. they asked for my mother then asked for my father but they wouldnt give me a message to give them i was wondering if this is the same thing that you guys a re talking about or not. but i would like to say that i live in the reading aera of pa not pittsburg

I've been receiving phone calls from PACOP as well but with a different phone number 1-724-278-1560. My experience has been the same but just with a different phone number.

Also recieved a call from PACOP however under a different number.

Same experience as everyone else - I too live in the Philadelphia area and had made past donations to the "Police Chief's" association, but now I ignore this type of call.  I would really like to nuke callers like this from my service.....

I just got a call today at 10:49 a.m. I answered the phone I thought it's for my husband who worked for the state and then they hang up on me. Just so weird.

I just now received a call from PACOP at 8:00 pm November 18, 2008.  Phone number on and initals came up on my caller ID- No message was left.

Who are these people?     I'm getting frustrated with all these call from either "out of area" etc., especially when my telephone number is UNLISTED!

Just wanted to add, I am not in the Pittsburgh area - I am in the Philadelphia suburbs! Of course I have gotten the calls from the PA Chiefs of Police as well but usually they come up as unknown.  I too have stopped answering any calls that are from unrecognized numbers or if they have no company or person's name.

Received call 11-18-08 @9:52am.  No message or anything except PACOP as ID address.  Looked up PACOP as an acronym.  Found PA Council on Parkinsons, however, I don't think a legitimate organization would just ring the phone twice and leave no messages.

Called with ID of PACOP.  They did not leave a message

yes I too have gotten this call from pacop 724-209-6609, they called on 8/8 at 3:58 pm and 7:49pm, and again on 9\9 at 10:30 am and 8:19pm. My family is from western pa and I thought maybe it was one of them, you know new cell number or something, but they ring phone twice and hang up before I can get to the phone, I am glad I looked it up on google.

My husband and I have been receiving phone calls from the "Chiefs of Police Association" for several years now.  We are not originally from  SouthWestern PA and were afraid to not give a donation given the agressive nature of the caller - we literally were afraid we might be given a hard time by the local olice department.  As a result, we have been making an annual donation for the past several years.  However, after being asked (and agreeing) to make a $25 donation last year, we received another such request only a few days later.  My husband was unaware that I had already donated and he agreed to make an additional donation.  Upon learning of this mix-up, we chose not to put the money in an envelope on our front door.  We literally received a phone call within a few hours asking for us to please put the money on the front door.  We now no longer answer any phone call coming from a number we do not recognize.  The calls come from countless numbers, sometimes PACOP, private, or even cell or home phone numbers.  I often answer and immediately hang up on the individual on the other end.  It is not uncommon for these calls to come as late as 9:30 on any given night of the week.

6/4/08 at 8:51 pm - First time I have received a call from this number.  Same call info as others.

KEEPS CALLING NO MESSAGE.I NOW PICK AND IMMEDIATLY HANG UP.

they keep calling me and never leave a messeng! you know what would be funny, we all call the same number durring the day! they would be up the creek!! those*******************

CAlled at 830pm PACOP disconnect I ZAPPED them. Probably telemarketer, they have nothing else better to do.

received a call from this number.  thanking me for my past donation (I never gave a donation before).  stated they are with the chief of police.  stated I didn't want to donate and they quickly hung up.

just received a call from the same number, (1-724-209-6609)and found out it's a fundraiser number.. definitely not the western pennsylvania chiefs of police though..

no message  came up on caller id
