The phone number is "spoofed" - the actual caller is using either a service or a VOIP line that allows setting the Caller ID to =anything= they want. Google for "spoof".

Keep getting calls from 724-548-5864. When I call back, it hangs up on me, or says number no longer in service.  How can that be when I get calls from it.

More crap about winning a cruise - usually scumbags that could care less about the do not call list. If it sounds like a scam, smells like a scam....

Whoever it was, they let the phone ring nearly a hundred times and then called back a second time. Whoever is doing this is just plain creepy.

I got a call from whoever this is today. It is best to not pick up. These are auto-dialers that will keep dialing you no matter what. If you do get a person, then the company knows it's a "legit" number and will sell your information to other scumbag telemarketers and then you'll be bombarded with junk calls.
How is an auto-dialer to know you're not on the "do not call" registry.
I think it takes someone either really desperate or someone with no heart or soul to work for one of these companies. What an unfulfilling life to lead. Sad.

they hung up before the answering machine answered so they left no message. Caller ID says ALLTEL. Now blocked using my PC based call blocker

Screen display read "ALLTEL".   I did not answer as I never answer numbers that I don't recognize.   The caller held long enough to access my voice mail; but no message was left.

Honestly this call made me laugh out loud. It's the typical scam that must be the oldest one ever. A VERY cheery young woman (robo call) says, "CONGRATULATIONS!!!  YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO WIN AN ALL EXPENSE TRIP TO......and that's when I hung up. I can't believe this is still going around.

Called me today left an automated message that was mostly cut off. It just said: "Would you like to be removed?" with a click and the call was done, weird!

The same number just called me too, a robocall offering a "free" cruise.  Or, of course, press "9" to have my number removed from their list (which I tried).  Clearly the same jerks have been running this scam for a long time.  The caller ID is being spoofed, which is illegal, and they're calling numbers (like mine) which are on both the Texas and Federal Do-Not-Call lists, which is also illegal.  If all of us would call our US Senators and US Congressman to complain every time we got these calls, eventually they would get the message and go after these scofflaws.

Some may not have the ethics for this but I pressed one (1) for my faboulus vaction offer I won.  Elisa answered.  Made some really rude sex talk and said "I love to be robo called".  She hung on for about 30 seconds playing along while she got her manager who  said"Thanks" and hung up faster that Client Eastwood's gun.

Unwanted and repetitive phone calls.

"Congratulations, you have been selected for an all expenses paid cruise". Yet another telemarketing scam.

WE are all on the sucker lists, let's face it.  I have been getting 3-4 calls a day from spoofed numbers.  I am no longer answering my phone.  After they hang up, I check on the internet to see if the number has complaints and then I add it to the block list.  I have a phone blocker.  It can handle 1,500 numbers.

I block them and they still try.  One phone rings once in my kitchen and then the blocker blocks it if in the list.  So I know if I blocked a call.

I've had calls at 5:00Am in the morning before and up to 11:00PM at night.

The Do Not Call list is a farce and we should all tell Congress to go pound sand.
