Just got a text from this number about them wanting to buy my item from craigslist. After checking the number here as I always do I texted them back telling them I know they are scammers and that I have turned their number into the proper authority's. They have not returned my text. Thanks for everyones reports on this number if we keep this up maybe they will get a clue that people are not as stupid as they are and hopefully they will get busted and stung up the balls,

I posted an add on Craigslist for a laptop. Received a text that the person was willing to pay $100 more than posting and could not come by to look at the machine...just send PayPal email address.
1) Called PayPal and confirmed that if ALL the person has is your email address, your account is fine.
2) IF you send your email address, and you receive a notice of payment, DO NOT access your PayPal account via these email links. Go directly to your personal PayPal account via a secured website to verify funds have, or have not been received.
3) If it is fraudulent, forward the email notification to spoof@PayPal.com
4) PayPal has specific information in their emails identifying it as a legit email. This information can be found on the PayPal website.

Same thing. First thing said by text was "i am interested in buying your (title of craigslist ad - it was for a laptop)". It seemed fishy and I immediately came here. I hate these people.

Just got a text from this number regarding a cell phone that I am selling. Asked me to give Paypal email and will pay me $100 more than asking price for shipping. Is this legit?

This person contacted me from an Craigslist posting. This person is trying to get me to give me my paypal ID number they claim to pay for an item I have for sale. When I tell them give me theirs they give me a paypal ID which they claim they use all the time to pay for all thier bills PayPal says that this ID number is not registered with PayPal (psarah81@gmail.com. I question this person and they swear it's a valid account and ask me for my ID again and again so they can pay me but I don't give it. Beware of people trying to obtain your PayPal ID.
