I received a false text message stating it was metropcs and to call the number 727 216-2031 for a credit issue. This was an obvious case of someone trying to get my credit card number

Got a text message within the hour. 709@metropcs.com Alert: Call 7272162031 (Card Verification Needed) Probably a SCAM to get credit card number.

At 7:07 PM 7/24/2012 a message was received from phone number 727 216 2031 indicating it was a metro PCS alert and that card verification was needed. Then it proceeded to request a card number. No type of card, no bank or finance company name, nada. Just enter card number. When an invalid card number is entered it came back and requested a debit card number. So, it appears this could be fraudulent.
