I just called Verizon to give them a heads up that many of their customers are being contacted. Gentleman I spoke with will pass this info on to his supervisor

Also use Verizon, First my daughter received text from 5/3 stating debit card deactivated to activate call the 727 230 0322. Later I received text on my cell same msg numbers 727 230 0322 and 917 646 2551...I also received several msg to my email basicly the same about card at Bank of America that was about a month ago.

This  truly a SCAM.  I didn't call!  BEWARE!!!!

I got the same message form phone number 9174767592 "FifthThirdB KTJM alert 247927. Please call 7272300322."

The text was from an "unverified-sender" with the above message.

We used to bank with 5/3 but all of our accounts were closed years ago.

Seems to be a scam to me.

I received the unverified sender text from '5/3' also at 2;20 today...didnt call it back but sucks to be the scammers b/c i dont have a 5/3 account!!

I got one at 1:21 and it was a CHJQ alert and i dont know if i should call due to possible charges that might efftect my phone bill. i also have verizon

Received anonymous text from FifthThirdB ACUD alert 736689, wanted me to call 727-230-0322, text shows it is from 917-583-3423.

I got the same text today and I no longer use Fifth Third Bank.  My friend got the same text today and she has never used Fifth Third Bank.  Sounds like a scam.

My wife and I got separate texts to our cells with the same number/alert. Called it and got a recording from the Federal Trade Commission that the number had been disconnected because of it's possible connection with a phishing scam.

I do bank with FifthThird, but was suspicious about the cryptic text (and the fact that the number they asked me to call was not a 1-800 number). I couldn't find any specific information on Google, but this thread leads me to believe it's a similar scam. I didn't bother calling to find out.

Same here. I have verizon. My call back # was 727-230-0322 with a text from 917-264-5517.

my family keeps getting text messages from 917-686-2588 claiming to be a Fifth Third Bank alert system, they tell me to call 727-230-0322, I am sure it's fraud we do not use Fifth Third Bank

Call originated from 917-975-3626 as an unverified caller.

Text from 917-492-8495 (Googled this number....Filiberto Guzman,he lives at 1912 3rd Ave. NY, NY 10029).  I'm not from around the area, so someone please feel free to stop by his house and well....something will come to you once you get there...

Also received text from unverified sender (917-357-5432) Fifth Third AURM alert 459287. Please call 727-230-0322.  Used to have an account with them but it is closed now.
