This is Vista marketing which is a telemarketing company which obtains personal info and credit card information supposedly from a third party...in my case Amazon.com...which specifies in their terms & conditions agreement when purchasing something that a 3rd party will contact you with further offers. This company uses phone hopping numbers which your caller id will show 616-980-1159, 616-980-1152 which are ph# or Grand Rapids, MI and this Vista Marketing is located at 6411 U.S. Highway 19 in New Port Richey, Florida, ph# for thier direct office is 727-232-8500 which I spoke with John Rykert who explained why he had my information and asked if I wanted to be added to do not call list. I told him that he is lucky to have a job in these times of economic hardship but that no moral person in there right mind should take advantage of individuals or scare the crap out of people believing their credit card has be stolen or fraud has been committed. He inficated that everything is legal. Well, I got news for him, I have reported to Amazon.com this 3rd party and BBB for fraud.

The same thing happened to us. Vista Marketing cannot cancel any subscriptions themselves. You have to contact the two companies yourself. The travel entertainment one is 800-660-0016 and the smart shopper savings is 800-293-1155. They played a recording for me to listen to of my husband agreeing to it, although his initial response was "No I do not want any subscriptions". When a person says no to something you don't talk them into it. A salesperson should be nothing more than a person helping a consumer get what he/she needs, not what they don't need and don't want.

My friend works there and she gave me this advice: Vista Marketing sells "trial offers" to "special cardholders" (aka anyone they can get card numbers for). They call you and offer you "trial programs" that will contain what appears to be a sweet deal, but really locks you into paying ridiculous monthly fees for a service that you do not really need, and is not worth buying. Once you accept the offer and "free gift" you are trapped. Canceling these programs is very difficult and takes a huge amount of effort to do. They LOVE customers who do not actively listen to what they are saying especially those who fall into any of these categories: elderly, college age, people who do not understand the English language well, busy people (they call you at work or on your mobile phone), and undereducated to name the majority. These people are not as likely to call and cancel for several months and they companies they sell for make money from these people by taking advantage of them. If you or someone you know gets a call from Vista Marketing, on behalf of one or more of their partners (see below), DO NOT ACCEPT the offer without completely understanding what you are signing up for. If you do not want it, say NO THANKS and HANG UP. They will try to keep you on the line as long as possible and this is the only power they have. When you hang up, they cannot get you to OK the charges to your card and if they process your "membership trial" you can report them to your card issuer or bank. Some of the partner programs (risk-free trial memberships) are: Consumer Auto Rewards, Cash Rewards, 24-7-Call-MD, Legal-Ease, Magazines, Safe Secure Warranty and others.
