Got a call from 727-282-0433. Said they were calling from Variety about my checking account. I immediately cut him off, told him to remove me. He went through a series of mumbled crap and said my name and phone number has been removed from thier call list. I said thank you and he hung up. We'll see if they call me again.

Just got a call from these guys too. They said I would get a 400 airline voucher and a 100 gas card in the mail. I gave them all my information and those punks ONLY sent me a 50 gas card and  200 airline credit. I have a good mind to fly to Flirida and give them an all-american texas A$$ wooping. Buncha fakes !!

I used to work with with some of the employess you are talking about. Don't please don't attempt to get them in trouble but please go after the company. its right in largo.

Watch out! These people are a scam - have no idea how they got my wife's cell number but when I checked on them, they were very evasive as to identifying what their company was about. Actually said (& here's where the alarm bells really went off/alot of background, boiler room noise/activity too) that the call pertained to "helping my wife with her checking account"? Sounds more to me like them wanting to "help themselves" to her account. Anyway, beware; it would seem our tax dollars would cover/protect us from this kind of stuff wouldn't it?  Oh, nevermind, what was I thinking.

I just called my state police about this call I received, they told me sense I was not a "victim" that they couldn't do anything about it, and the phone call was most likely coming from an other country, and that the number comes up as FL area code because it's probably a secondary phone of some sort or maybe even a cell phone... he said that even if I was a victim that not much could be done anyways because they have no jurisdiction in other countries if it is from another country, and if it really was from FL that  the state I'm in (NY) wouldn't pay to extradite some body from FL for a crime such as this.... I hate NY......  so these people can get away with harassment and fraud for the past several months and we can't (or at least I can't) do anything about it.....

I have been getting calls from this number as well. I haven't answered, because I didn't recognize the number. I did a google search and am glad I did. I will contact the Secret Service Monday morning to report this.

Have received multiple calls from this number.  Calls are going to a non published number used for a dedicated fax machine.

I even got caller id with anymous call rejection and it doesn't work with all numbers, so they use other numbers under unidentified caller but they do the same tactics and in the same manner, I am begining to wonder if they are trying to see if your home and this may even be a robbery ring too here, as well as identity theft and etc...I hope someone does something soon, i mean why are they still around anyhow? what is up with that here? Why are they still in business and allowed to operate!

So I'm getting these details from my friend, but apparently someone from this number called him earlier today on his cell phone and asked for me and said they had some free gifts to give me.  He told them it was his phone and I was just a friend and they asked him for my real number, but he didn't give it to them, thank goodness!  This is super creepy....I hope this guy gets caught. and soon

This just started happening to me, on my home and cell phone and I never pick up, I just googled this to find out some info and boy was I surprised!!!!

Caller ID left on netzero private phone (which btw is a wonderful thing, I'm not affiliated, blah blah). No message was left. What's disconcerting is that this is not my home phone # or cell phone; it's a number I use when I'm filling out forms and don't want to be called at home. I can't pinpoint where they would have gotten the #. It's not Craigslist though. B*****ds.

Yea I got the same call. I am overseas currently and have my US cell phone with me. I didn't know the number, so I didn't answer it as its way too much money to answer wrong numbers here. I googled it as did most of you.

I received a call from this "Variety" company saying I won $100 gas card & $400 airline voucher because I used my checking acct for a certain supplier. Well, I don't use my checking acct for buying only paying bills so I knew it was a scam. When he told me all he had to do was verify the bank & my acct # I told him I didn't have it. Then he said 'well you have it memorized don't you?' Said no, who does that? At that point another person got on the phone & asked for my acct # again & I told him the same thing. He said well I guess you're not getting your gifts then & hung up on me. I reported this to the FBI!!

I have received 3-4 calls a day from this number for the past couple of weeks, but never answered. Finally last week I decided to google this number and came across all of these websites. After reading about these guys I decided to answer the next time they called. They have already called 3 times today - the first 2 times I answered no one was there. When they called the third time I answered and a man asked for Amanda. I told him he had the wrong number, and by the way, he could stick the 400.00 airline voucher and 100.00 gas card up his_ss.

I was at work and received a call from this number on my cell.  I didnt recognize it so I googled it and found this site. They didnt even let it ring more than twice, which I think is because I have verizon's "ring back tones" and it sounds like you've called a business and are on hold.

Yes, I did get the a call from this number a few times this week and did not pick up since I did not recognize the number.  It is supposed to be a  landline from Clearwater, Florida.  I suppose a scammer.  Or better yet someone who is tracking down people via cell phones!  Call started comming when I was travelling out of my state, and everytime I go to a new place! Whoever is doing it, it is a stupid waste of time!

been getting the same call. i have not answered it but types in the number and i found this board. i have recently gotten online access for a credit card i jsut recieved. i would like ot know if you have reported it have you gotten any feedback and should i do the same

Same thing just happened to me.  I said I thought it was a scam, told them I wasn't interested and the girl hung up.

They have been calling my # 2-3 times a day for two weeks on my cell phone! I have not answered the call one time and they have not left a single message. I just googled their phone # and found this website.

Think they got my number by responding to an ad on craigs list.
