Today, November 8th, I received a call from this jerk wad, Detective Sullivan, who is claiming to work for the State of Florida and works as a Detective. After his claim of who he is and where he represents, I told him why I refuse to return the vehicle. Detective Sullivan works for Mike Kastrenakes of Thrifty Car Sales in Clearwater, Florida. When I purchased my 2003 Expedition, his then losers, Dan and Bo Rasoi, told me that everything would be repaired on the vehicle. 3 days later, I took it in and ONLY one thing was fixed and told the rest were not safety issues, therefore they would not be fixed.
Mike preferred that customers have the payments directly deducted out of their bank accounts. Thats all fine and dandy, until you choose not to have one or switch banks. That was the case with my mom. She changed banks and didn't tell Mike. She was going in on a Saturday to make the payment in cash. She never got that chance as Mike located the vehicle at a Best Buy, had the vehicle repossessed and left her standing at the Best Buy at 275 and Dale Mabry. I lived in Pasco County and had to drive all the way there to get her. We then drove BACK to Pasco County to retrieve the items out of the vehicle. When I drove in, the Repo guy closed the doors and then told me that do to my mom co-signing on my vehicle, that he would have to take mine because its called "cross collateral" So, not only did Mike get her Aviator, he got my Expedition as well. For my mom, he accelerated the loan to $14,995 and he charged me $900.00 to get my vehicle back. The repo fee from the repo company is ONLY $250.00. He charged $500.00 for the repo fee and then my monthly payment on top of that. Mind you, NO car payment OR Insurance was due. He took her vehicle because she did not give him another bank account. Additionally, the contract reads that the vehicle is supposed to go to the auction for sale. Mike had the vehicle back on his lot before the 14 day period allowed to get the vehicle back, and then SOLD the vehicle. My mom put $3500 down on her Aviator and $1500 down on my Expedition. So, he got $5000.00 as downpayments on both vehicles and then sold hers AGAIN and made MORE money. Mike Kastrenakes is a PIECE OF S***!
There are also GPS units in the vehicles which make it very easy to locate and repo, that is, unless your me. I happen to work in the GPS industry and so.....I disconnected the unit. Folks, if you have a loan with Platinum Finance, you DO have a GPS unit in it AND have paid for that unit 6 times over. Mike is not only making money on the loans at 29.5% interest(mine), AND he is also making money on the GPS units that only cost him $150.00 to purchase them.
Two weeks ago, I went to Veterans Ford to trade in my Expedition for a new one. At that time, I was told that when the vehicle was bought at auction, it was declared a "frame damage" vehicle. On the report, it gave the accident report number. So, I called the previous owner and I found out the vehicle was involved in a fatal accident in Punta Gorda in 2005. When I bought the Expedition, THAT WAS NOT DISCLOSED!! If that was the case, I would not have purchased the vehicle.
Also, check or request a payment history report! In 99% of all loans, you will see what y ou will pay after your entire loan is satisfied. You normally pay the interest first and when the interest is paid, you then start to pay on the principle. NOT THE CASE with Platinum Finance. To date, I have paid over $14,000 in payments. I am two years into a 3 year loan. I should be well into my principle by now, but when Mike gave me a print out of my payment history, I noticed that my balance was not going down by $417.00, with each payment. This is called the Rule of 78's. He charges interest EACH MONTH, after you make a payment. So, if your balance is $6,000 and your payment is $417, your new balance is NOT $5583....it will be like...$5,800 or somewhere around that. Again, thats taking advantage of people with poor credit.
To make a long story, short....Mike Kastrenakes PRAYS on the people with bad credit. He works with you when everything is going his way, but as soon as that stops happening, all bets are off including having some a$$h-le named Detective Sullivan portray like he is a cop. He told me that by law, the debtor has two weeks to surrender the property and should you fail to do so, you could get a class 3 Felony. Also he threw out the name of Judge Dominguez. Funny thing how his number comes back to a Pinellas County location, which he states is across from the courthouse. There is no Judge Dominguez in Pinellas County and the Judge Dominguez in Hillsborough County is a traffic judge. When I asked this clown what division he worked for, he hemmed and hawed and never did give me a division. When I asked for his badge number, he changed the subject. So, not only is this guy claiming to work for the state, he is falsely impersonating someone he clearly is not. BE CAREFUL AND DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THIS a***ole. AND DISCONNECT YOUR GPS!!!!!
