This indian man from Nationwide Grants is still calling looking for his next victim.  I think it's wrong that FCC or FBI hasn't shut this company down yet.  He said is name was John Harris from Florida.  From other web postings, it appears that they are able to scam people out of money ranging from $50-$299.

They called me today! It was someone who couldn't speak english. Since I was at my computer I did a google search on the number he had given me and I got all of these pages stating that it was a scam, so I let him know that I knew about it and how everyone was saying that when they had called it was to tell them that they had won $5,000 from the government...I told him to lose my number and never call me back...I'm sick of all these scams! How they hell did they get my number in the first place??? All I know is that I cussed his a** out!!! DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!IT IS A SCAM!!!

Someone called my home # 3 times this aftn.  I hung up the first time and he called 2 more times until I answered.  I got this # from him and told him I would not give him any bank info until I spoke with my bank.  Bank advised me that it is a scam.  They speak broken English and are very hard to understand.  Rushed me while I was trying to get the bank, continually saying, can you spell that again?  Finally when I clicked over to take another call they had hung up after holding on for about 30 min. while I talked with my bank.  Waiting to see if they try to call back.

got a call from the number 727-450-4610 they said i got a government grant for five thousand dollars and i never had to pay it back all they needed was mu bank account number i told them i didnt have one they said i could use anybodys or they could mail it to me for a hundred dollars i knew it was a scam i told him the government didnt call people and if they did they would be able to speak english he got really upset and cussed me out ive been looking up some information on this and the number is coming out of clear water florida and the telephone carrier is us lec of florida there number is 1-800-978-7532 maybe if people call and complain something will be done

person called with foreign accent and said I had a $5000 grant.  He asked for personal information when I did not want to give out the last four digits of my social he became a bit angry and said we are the government blah blah blah.  I asked for a return telephone number he gave me 727-450-4610 no extension and said his name was Matt Willes.  He keep pressuring me for the last four digits which I gave (stupid).  He proceded to ask me for my bank information (red alert) I hung up and called the number back it asked for a four digit code.  He called me back and put a manager on the phone who then repeated what the other guy said earlier and asked for my bank information as well.  I told them if you were the goverment you would have this information all ready.

Yeah I received the call about 5000 dollars. about a grant for not filing bankruptc. he knew my address and name. He also  asked for bank info i told him I had none and he says ever US citizen has some sort of account. I then told him no i didnt and i say you are trying to scam me and he says you dont believe in your government. I then said if they are scamming no. Please remove my name from your list.

My mother is being harassed by someone from the Nationwide Grant co. He had her SSN and her bank card number and was calling to verify. Told her she was to receive $5000 grant that she never has to pay back and that all they needed was $150 so she'd get her check tomorrow. Different number tho... 250-483-0351 ext. 101. I did a reverse number check and the number is out of Canada. Mom has called bank and police.

Yes I received a call from this idian guy with a bad phone connection on 2/16/09. Of course everyone wants to believe that they really have $5000 coming to them but if you think about it what government agency would call someone at 8:00 at night. I have to say the man who called me should win an award for being so convincing. I said if you have my address why don't you just mail it to me.

I man with a heavy middle eastern accent called and attempted to get my SSN and bank account number.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have received 2 phones call from 144871 (on my cell phone caller ID).  I haven't answer...i guess it's a good thing because these people tick me off.  I have had this happen once before where they would call 15 times in one day, so I finally answered and got a number to their "corporate office" and never heard from them again.

I also just got a call from an idian guy telling me that my name had been picked for a $5000 grant. He then also asked me for my date of birth. I told him I would not give him any information, and if the government had picked my name he should have all my information. I told him I was reading all the comments about him and I knew this was a scam. He then had the audacity to say I had a sweet voice and if I wanted to work in his company. That he would pay me 6,000 a week. I can't believe this. I hope no one falls for this!

These people call me almost every day.  They are asking for the person who had my phone # before i got this phone.  They tell me they will give me $5000 too.  When i sak to speak to a supervisor they wont connect me.  One guy even TRIED to curse me out, on two different days.  Its very funy because he doesnt know how to curse in english, he just blurts out random curse words then hangs up.  He got really mad when I laughed at him for telling me "to stick my phone in my ash!"  Seriously, he said ash!!  The 727 call back number wont let me speak to anybody either

I received a call from a man who said his name was John Tyler (yeah, right... he didn't 'sound' like a John Tyler.)  He said I had been selected by the US Govt to receive a $5,000 grant.  He didn't get as far as to ask me for my bank account number because I wouldn't even give him my birthday.  I figure if he new my dob, name and address that he could figure out a way to steal my identity.  I asked for his call back number, which he gave as 727-450-4610. However, caller ID showed him calling from different area code... 585-919-0331. I asked what agency he represented.  He said he was with "Nationwide Plan"!  LOL! That's part of a cell phone plan! He gave me an address, which I'm sure is bogus too... 16 Highway St, Jacksonville, FL 33110.  Of course, I had to have him spell the street for me, his accent was so heavy.

Caller said it was additional $2000 to our tax refund and needed my account information to put the money into our account tomarrow 01-17-2008.

got the same call from 48871.  Scammed him right back though.  Gave him an old acct number that is no longer valid.  Said his name was Rex R. White and gave the same address info as the other postings have.

Had a call today almost identical to the ones already listed.  Sounded fishy so I got his supposed information.  Talked to my bank and set up some extra firewalls and passwords that only I know and found out who at the bank to pass on his info to.  His address given was 16 Hwy St. Jacksonville Fla. 33110 , what kinda crap is that?  I just don't know why he would give out the same info to all of us.  Said his name was Mack Willis.  I'm telling my bank all I know and urge you to do the same.  We don't need any more scammers!  He said he'd call back tomorrow, I can't wait.

Wow do I feel like a huge idiot. While trying to take a shower I was interrupted by this "To Good to Be True," $5000 offer. Just as many people had mentioned above "John Tyler" said he was with Nation Wide Grants and due to the fact I pay my bills and haven't filed bankruptcy, I was "The Chosen One." His thick indian speaking supervisor called to confirm my "WIN." I hadn't heard of these scams and truly wanted to believe I was finally lucky. Well lucky me gets to go close all of my accounts and hope nothing further happens. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS POPULAR SCAM...IT IS A SCAM. They had all of my information, knew where I lived and swore they weren't a scam.

Someone called asking to confirm my banking information that they some how had already. Said that I would be recieving a grant for a free $5000. I would like this so called company stopped immediatly.

Got a call today from a George Williams. Same 5'000.00 grant for free. Wanted my bank acct number said his bank was USABank. I stated isnt that the bank that just went bankrupt. I questioned his name and he told me he had it legally changed. Also gave me some kind of astringent number to identify him by 4206J. I told him to send the check. Of course he wouldn't. Made a comment that I must be rich already so I didn't need it. Asked to speak to supervisor and he also had heavy accent and repeated what the first guy said. Asked for thier number and they didnt give it to me. Then I told them they must be crazy if they thought I would give them any info. Laughed and hung up. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

This indian man also called me just now 5/16/09 these people are scam artist and I truly hope nobody falls for there bu***hit....by this day and age we should all know by now NOT to ever give account info to anyone.....

I received a call today from an unkn number. The man asked to speak w/me and said my full name. I asked who he was. He had what sounded like an indian accent and told me he was from a branch w/ the federal gov't. He said I was chosen to have 5000 deposited into my acct. I asked for his website; nationalgrants.com; then I asked how he got my number. He continued to try to "verify" my info. When I refused to answer he hung up on me.

Same call as linda in april.  so the scam is still operating.  how did they get my cell number anyway?  i did verify the last 4 of my ssn, i know not smart.  i stopped when he asked for my routing number and other banking info.  i told him that i couldnt give out any more info, and his reply was "what, you get sammed before?"  i took all of his "information" and started looking on line for info.  apprears that this scam has been operating for quite a while.  is there any way to stop it so that someone else doesnt get scammed??

He told me I was a bad citizen of the united states because i didn't want to give out my info over the phone. That hurt a lot.... a lot.

called said i was choosen by the goverment for 5000 dollars grant he wanted mr to deposit to money transfer and western union.his name was ronnies jackson. I dint send the money because i checked the internet first to see if it was a real company and it is but they dont have any record of this buiness. i hope this wil help people in the future dont let them scam you . check all things to do with these kinds of grants first before you send any money and one more thing you should never have to send money to the goverment to get a grant this is always bull.

I to got a call frm an Indian speaking person that wanted to offer me 5000.00 for a Us grant from Nationwide grants.  I would not give out my information to him at all.  so everyone out there please be aware of this person he is very tricky in his tactics and the sofistication phone systems he used to reach me

I got a call from Mick Jones a very Indian sounding man. I refused to give him my bank account #. He said his boss would call me with western union information and gave me this FL # 7274504610. I called it and they want you to eneter a code. I asked for the code and he said his boss would have to give that to me. Stupid me I know you don't get nothing for nothing and I still gave him my address and birthdate! he said his email was grants .gov and his bosses name was Roger Smith. These names are awfully suspicious. I can't believ what they are doing. Some people don't know better and would give them the information. How can we stop them...I am gonna report them to whoever will listen and check this website out further.

i just got a call today from some indian guy saying that he would send me 5000 dollars if i paid 96 dollars for documentation fees. he told me he was from the us government grant department. his story was that the us government chooses 1000 americans to 5000 dollars just by wiring them 96 dollars. he gave me the number 202 683 9421 and said the  address he was at was 200 independence ave washington dc 20201. i traced the number and it came from a town called reston,dc it looks like a suburb of washington. be aware of scammers
