In which city was the hotel, where you filled out the lil pink form? Was it in St. Pete, FL? A friend of mine fell for a similar scam, and he found an address to the phone Nr.

In order for them to call, you had to have filled out a contest entry (usually hot pink or bright yellow) for a "free trip to the Bahamas" recently. I did so and was called by them within 24 hours saying I had "won" and all I had to do was make a long-distance to listen to a prerecorded message for the "details". (Please read above comment for said "details", as that pretty well sums it up. I presume after you decline their "generous" offer, they will then sell your contact information to other telemarketers/unsolicited mail/junk mail providers. No, thankyouverymuch. Hope this saves someone else all the bother and wasted time..."$39 reservation fee first", yeah, riiiight! LOL!

Total scam - the "Bahamas Getaway" is a vacation package that they say you have "won" and if you pay them something like 99 per person twice, then you get a whole 4 day 3 night trip to the bahamas!!!  Well what they don't tell you is that after you pay the 99 per person twice (198 total) then you have to pay all these fees which add up to a ridiculous amount making the trip more expensive than if you had just bought it from a travel agent.  They even leave out transportation things which you need to get as part of the deal.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!  They don't tell you everything until it is too late and your 198 bucks is gone.   727-456-6070 is their number.  Call them and tell them what a scam they are putting on for us working people - taking money from us who actually work for a living rather than take money from people. Bahamas Getaways - DO NOT DO IT!!

Ok people.....  I got the call, they told me I am going in a Bahamas trip, for the following fees, this many days etc..... NOWHEREwas it written or NEVER did they mention thet anything will be FREE, or that I WON anything !!!!!
Yes, they did use "Congratulations, you're going on the cruise and stay in a hotel that you showed your interest to go, by filling out the pink slip", which did not say anything about FREE or WINNING anything!

PAY ATTENTION, ask for the details and the TOTAL cost you will incur for 2 peaople, what is exactly included and what upgrades are available, and you'll find out: TRIP by boat to Bahamas, plus STAY at the hotel (no food included) = about $500 for 2 people. Not bad, for a 5 days Bahamas vacation  if you ask me.
Stop complaining that you didn't pay attention and THOUGHT this was going to be free!

Peace!  And enjoy the vacation !

I received a call today from a Mary Anne phone # 727-456-6062. Stated that I had won a trip for two to the Bahamas. She said that the trip was for 4-days and 3 nights. She also indicated that this is not a time share. On the message she stated that I have three days to claim my vacation and also gave me a claim number as well. She told me exactly were she got my slip i filled out and that was true, I am going to call them tomorrow in the morning and find out where can I claim my vacation in person. I will let you know, the outcome.

Thanks for the feed back.....

Thank goodness we have places like this to look things up and make sure they are legit. But, dang, I was excited about going.

i have not gone on the trip but i have read on a different website what a local has said about the bell channel inn. first off there are either no door knobs, or they don't work from my understanding and the hotel is so far from anything else that you'll be spending a fortune on cabs. my boyfriend and i are now in the process of trying to get our $197.94 back

Unfortunately, I am one of the fools that got scamed. My boyfriend and I both filled out slips for a free vacation at a pizzeria. I was the only one to recieve a phone call saying I had won. I, like a fool, got caught up in the excitement before doing any research and gave them my credit card number. I was told that if I didn't take the cruise that the $99 dollars per person I paid would be refunded. Well I finally came to my senses and decided NOT to take the trip, and just wanted get my money back before anymore damage could be done. Little did I know that you only get that refunded once you take the trip. That was never explained, nor was it in any of the paper work. My boyfriend and I are now trying to go the legal route to not only get the money back, but hopefully get this place shut down, wish us luck!

I received the same call last year (May 2009). Paid the fees for the room/cruise (I cannot remember what the deposit for the room was, but that is supposed to be returned; the cruise ws $199.96 for two tickets).  I forgot about the entire thing for the past few months and am now my boyfriend and I are thinking about trying to go - since I paid already.  I know it is a scam because it's definitely NOT free like they claim.  But it is nice to get a free room in the Bahamas...
I looked up the hotel and it looks ok, says it's about 15 min from the beach (and there is a "free" shuttle).  I'm just worried to get there and be stuck in a crappy hotel with nothing to do!  Has anyone actually gone on this trip??

I went to tropical smoothie where I filled out a form to win a getaway trip for two. My husband filled out a form as well to double our chances since we don't carry the same last name because I never changed it.  I revieved a voicemail from a guy with a thick fake acsent saying that I won a trip and to call 727 456-6067 with my booking number. I called and a won answered... She seemed shady and never asked for my booking number. The cost was 87.50 per person and the address to the office is 2100 1st ave s saint pete fl. When I called my husband to tell him I won... Guess what so did he haha! The same guy called him told him he was a winner as well. Know what are the chances? The calls were only 14 minutes apart! What a scam! I'm glad this site is in place to help people from being scamed! It was  to good to be true.

Any update on if you received your package or followed through with the trip? How much did you pay to receive the package? I was told I had to pay $87.50 per person; $87.50 was due right away and the other $87.50 would be due in 30 days. I'm also guessing there would be cruise fees or some other taxes..?

I'm not sure which call you received or when you received it. My fees were $87.50 per person. $87.50 had to be paid right away and the other $87.50 could be paid within 30 days. I'm also pretty sure I would have to pay cruise fees (which is normal) once I book. So I'm not sure which deal you received.
My friend also filled out a slip and they called her as well. She spoke to someone and said that they did not sound very professional. I'm looking to see if someone booked a trip similar to my offer and what all their fees were. I guess I'll keep reading.

My wife and i went to Mexican Rastuarant calls Lacharos, i'm afraid i have spelled it wrong, but anyway my wife had filled as same as pink slip that almost everyone else went through. A week later there's a phone call with the number727-456-6074 said that i have won a free trip to Bahama. She said i have to claim it before june, 8th. To order toclaimthe price i have to pay a fee $87.50 up front for the package and i have 30 day to another $87.50 more for my wife. My wife and i were so excited we ended up pay for both of us at the same time the amount of $175. If this a scam, how come our govt. didn't do anything about it? The phone #, the person who calls, and also the restuarant those allowed the company to run their ad. Hum! what a world am i living in? Thank gooness we have the Internet i won't have to pay anymore money for my two daughters for this disaster trip.

I received 2 voicemails from this number as well. AJ... April... whatever her name was called to say I had won a trip for 2 to the Bahamas. This seemed waaaaaay to good to be true! Right off the bat I knew this was a scam. After listening to a very long voicemail (put together very carelessly), I was prompted to press 1 to speak with a representative to get started. The AJ/April (same voice) character said there was a "registration fee" of $87.50 per person (only paying one up front of course - the scam), $100 port tax per person, and a $15 resort fee tax per person per night for a 5 day/4 night stay at the Bell Channel Hotel and Resort. First of all, I thought this was a cruise. Apparently, the only cruise you're taking is to the island then another moon-lit cruise on your way back to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Second of all, once you get to this "amazing" hotel described you will be forced to pay a fee per night per person to stay there. Luckily they are up front about this non-inclusive fee. Also, you'll be paying port fees of $100 per person to enter the Bahamas. This is not free! This is not even offered at a discounted price! Anyone can do some shopping around to find a better deal than this. Lastly, they try to make you feel specail as if you were the only one picked from that bucket. But once they relaize you've uncovered their scam, they simply pick someone else to call. And they give this deadline to call within the week hoping people will be so overwhelmed after winning a FREE trip that they think irrationally and pay up. I hope people do not fall for this - they are selling a disaster. She was very perky, and always reassuring that it was not a gimmick. When I asked what I would be paying... she always answered with, "a small fee." I bet the money I saved not falling for this scam that they have called everyone that ever put their name in a bucket for this TRIP FOR 2 and that they are on sites just like this writing fake success stories. They probably come on here pretending to be a lucky winner, writing about how awesome of a deal this is. This is a scam!

Ironicaly, someone from that number has called me twice while I've been writing this. Since this is my day to claim, I'm sure they are hoping to get me to fork out that registration fee. Not going to happen. I feel bad for the people who bought into this and hope people see that they are crooks.
