We got those calls from MCCS and also from Macys/Bloomies. We owe neither of them money and never answer the calls. They are easy to take care of - file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry - https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. Works every time.

Someone claiming to be Macy's or a debt agency for Macy's saying my bill is past due. I said I'd take care of it online rather than give them my info over the phone, seems hella suspicious. Macy's paper billing seems to be a mess... I got one bill in the mail two months ago and then never again. Of COURSE I'm going to forget to pay my bill. Sign up for emailed bills and auto pay. Never deal with these weirdys again.

Who is this and why are they calling me?
KrisH 2014-02-28 19:15:06 Unknown
Received two of these calls today. Both times it rang twice. These calls are coming in on a phone registered to the Fortune500 company I work for. When I call back, I receive a message that the call may be monitored for quality assurance and then the line gets disconnected.

I kept getting called by their machine, that would hang up, on my new work number. Apparently my number was owned by someone who owed money at Macy's. I told them my name and they said the call wasn't for me and if I knew the person that they were calling for. I didn't, so they politely told me they would remove my number.
naza3 2014-02-26 00:50:25 Unknown
However they knew my first and last name. It is terrible.
naza 2 2014-02-26 00:43:20 Unknown
I forgot to say that the man said he was calling me from Macy's regarding my account which was due and when I said I had no Macy's account he insisted to get my information anyway.
naza 2014-02-26 00:38:37 Unknown
I had 3 calls this afternoon from this number from a man and a woman. The man insisted to get my account no. and ssn and Tel. no.(while he had dialed me). The woman sais she calls from bloomingdale and I had to balance my account asap. right away.

Several calls each day and am blocking them all. On a no call list. Have no Macy account and tired of being harassed! It is my phone, my time, my house, and my privacy being violated several times a day. Congress better get serious about cracking down on these harassing phone calls. Maybe we start with business boycotts as consumers. American businesses STOP contracting with overseas (Indian) firms that ignore US laws!
Victor 2014-01-05 16:33:16 Unknown
They called me too.
I have installed Mr. Number app on my android phone and it hangs up on any #.
Works great so far on variety of spammers!

Been getting these calls for a couple of weeks. I do not and never have had a Macy's card or in fact any kind of department store card. I have one credit card with Capitol One with a small balance that is paid on time with autopay. I've had this phone number since summer '12 but the calls just started recently. If I answer, nobody is there, and they don't leave a message. So annoying! Any way to stop them?
Carol 2013-12-08 01:41:13 Unknown
llex it is not a debt collector for Macys it is what they call a spoof number that is why when you call it back it goes to a voicemail that says its full. I have reported this number and have been told by government officials that it is a group of people friend Carribean islands that are using electronic gadgets on their phones to show up numbers calling from the United States trying to get your credit card information or any information they can get to steal your identity. The only way to stop them from calling is to block their number through your phone carrier. if you do not answer they will eventually stop calling. Good luck and do not give out any of your information to them

Just an addendum to the above. To assume Macy's has EVERYTHING to do with these calls would also be somewhat ignorant. As stated above, we have never had an account with Macy's and yet we are still receiving calls from these people who claim they are from Macy's . How would Macy's have our number if we have never had an account with them? I would think that Macy's would be doing their own investigation because this kind of harassment can not only lose them current customers but also future customers.

We have received 6 calls from this number in the last 2 days under the Caller ID MCCS (Macy's). We had been receiving calls from Mason, OH numbers 513-573-8038 & 513-754-9822. I called the former number and talked with someone with a very thick Indian accent. The person they said was connected to our number was no one we had ever heard of (we've had this number for over 3 years). After they were informed that we have NEVER had an account with Macy's OR Bloomingdales and we wanted the number deleted from their database, the calls from Mason, OH stopped (10/15/13). The calls from MCCS began 15 days later (10/30/13). We have actually been receiving calls from MCCS for quite a while but our call log only holds 20 numbers. These people are relentless. A lot of these posts say to "Pay up and they will stop calling you" quite apparently assuming that the only reason we are being harassed in this manner is because we owe something to these people. I should have said quite ignorantly assuming.... How can we owe something to someone we have never had an account with? These calls ARE bogus and they are harassment so please don't ignorantly assume.

Says it was MACY's saying I missed my payment, which was due 2 days ago and asked for me to pay over the phone.
philip 2013-10-28 18:18:07 Unknown
these folks are a nussiance.. I wonder if this is part of the CIA/NSA call intercept and monitoring of our phoness.. they may be calling us to see if you answer and the number is in use.. look out.. it might be deeper thatn you think

Please people, they do not have the right to call people and not answer! It is like bugging people, it is abusing your rights. If they are calling about the Macys account, they should talk and explain not BUG people. I strongly suggest people to go to BBB (https://www.bbb.org/) and file a complaint with Macys.
People not caring about their rights cause these big corporations stronger everyday and ruder to abuse people's rights.
Meg 2013-09-13 19:39:31 Unknown
Why are these people keep calling me and not leaving a message? I guess they have nothing better to do. If it's so important for you to get in touch with me, pls leave a message. I will not answer any calls from unknown numbers.
Anonymous 2013-09-13 12:28:16 Unknown
Some days up to fifteen calls a day, and very rude person who refuses to leave any message when asked what the call is about.
Patsy 2013-09-12 20:22:53 Unknown
When you pickup there is no response they call constantly after answering 8 times I no longer answer I just ignore. I only know one person in Florida which is where they say the call comes from on caller I'd so I now ignore or hit call ignore on cell phone since they don't speak when I say hello and they don't answer when I call back

I just received a phone call from this number 727-556-5772 on September 11, 2013 @ 11:21 am PST. He threw a bunch of numbers saying he was a debt collector and our payment is past due. When it literally is three days late. The check is in the mail, and will be there shortly. It is our very first payment, so obviously it is not in a debt collectors hands. :) We were smart enough to hang up on him.

constant harassing calls from this #, no answer to my hello. When I call back it is Macy's/Bloomingdale's, I do not have a balance. I ended up closing my account because they kept waking me up in the am when I have been sick. Repeated pleas to them to stop calling do nothing. I cannot block their number. I called Macy's corporate 888-622-9793 they say it's a 'courtesy call' but they are harassing their customers. They are also using 513-573-8031, 513-573-8717, 513-754-9863, 727-556-5772. If you have extra minutes on your phone, call them and be silent for five minutes like they do, to tie up their phone lines, it will end up costing them more money so maybe they will stop giving cold calls to customers on the do not call list. You can also report to the local police but I haven't done that yet.

This number calls me on average 10 times a day and have for the past few weeks. They have never left a message. I don't believe this could actually be Macy's as I don't have a credit card with them and rarely even shop there.
I just filed a compliant with the Do Not Call Registry. If they're bothering you as much as they are me, you should file one too: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
