Direct Energy and Energetix are "Sister" companies of this shill outfit. they will pretend to "change companies" and just simply bounce you from one in-house scam operation to another.

Scam operation. Call and represent themselves as your (fill in the blank) local power company. Once they have enough information, they "Slam" you (Change your provider to themselves) and by the time you find out (Monthly bill) that your rate is more than doubled, it is too late.
When you call to complain, or inquire how they got the account switched, they threaten disconnection and / or collection procedures.
I am still fighting to get their negative reports off my credit report. The "real" power company is of no help, and they KNOW what's going on. Just easier to look the other way.
This is just a variation on the phone company "slamming" of the 80's.

asked me if i handle the electric bill i replied yes, said they could take off the tax money off my bill.
this man never identified himself then asked me to grab a paper and pen i told him i'm going out

number address and personal information like that, think they'll get the message.

I get numerous calls from this number, always around noon. They never leave a meassage except for this last phone call today. The caller mumbled something like, "Not makin' it? Really?" and hung up. I've tried many times to call back, but I get a Verizon Wireless message telling me the number is unavailable. My caller I.D. says "Energy" as the caller.

These calls must stop and Mr. Obama must get off his duff and put a stop to these harassing worthless calls.  NOW!!!

They claimed that they were calling in regards to our Columbia Gas Bill. They wanted to "help us get a lower rate". However, they needed to verify our information with us. This is obviously a phishing attempt in order to retrieve sensitive information. I had a similar phone call last year and contacted my service provider about it before releasing any information. They said that it was bogus. This guy that called me today argued with me saying "Well I don't understand why you wouldn't want to pay less". I don't think that they realize that his arguing was a dead give away because of his lack of professionalism. I think the best advice that I can give to someone is that whenever you get a call and they want to "verify" information then DONT DO IT! I feel that if they are calling you then they should already have that information.

Yes, we received a call regarding "electric choice" from a telemarketer.  I politely stated I was not interested, and hung up the phone.  The following day, we received a call from the same number, approx. 1 hour earlier.  There was an automated "goodbye" on the other end of the line, and they hung up.  I expect this call to continue for the next couple of days.

This company called at 10PM on a Thursday night! Didn't leave message.

Caller asked for the person who handles our water billing. As they wanted to see if we qualify for rate discounts. Ironically, I work for the water department of our city. I told caller, I am part of the municapality water division, thus would like to know why they are calling- as my office did not authorize such calls. The caller didnt get it. As continued with his marketing push to help deduce rates.

I again said he called the electric and water division of a city office and needed to get his facts straight to whom he was calling. I then said, I could transfer him to the state attny. office. I guess that worked as- he hung up.

Agressive, repeated calls.  Hang up or get the number blocked

Live operator asking for whoever handles the Ameren Energy bill.  She said she was from Liberty Power and wanted to see if we qualified for any plans to protect us from the upcoming rate increase.  She also stated that Ameren recommended looking for ways to prevent the rate increase from affecting us.  It seems odd that Ameren would recommend anything that would keep them from making more money.

I assume it's CONSUMER ENERGY SOLUTIONS - Clearwater, FL.  Didn't pick up, but there's recent listings on Monster.com for "Telemarketing Positions."  I predict others will get a call to confirm.
