Some guy with a thick accent called at 7:15 pm the other night. I was in a meeting but thought it might be an agent of ours calling so I answered. When I found out it was not who I thought I excused myself and got off the phone. I did not know who the call was from but he wanted someone from the household that was over 18 years of age. Not sure if it was a survey or he was trying to sell me something or a scam. Now he calls several times a day at all different hours. I have not answered again. Very annoying. I checked here to see if it was a scam or something. Is this a legit caller? Any problems I should be aware of?

Caller calimed to be from the Nielsen company. Inquired if my phone is a business or private phone. They hung up after being informed that mine was a business number.

Postcard rec'd from Nielsen Company, 501 Brooker Creek Blvd, Oldsmar, Fl 34677 stating it is important that my household is included in their survey.  I don't know if this number is theirs but it indicated on CID that it was Neilsen.  We do know CID can be managed.  The best way to have shows changed is contacting the companies buying the ads....  skip right over Nielsen.

I don't watch the 'over the air' stations except for 3 PBS stations, no local news, no Today show and no cable.  Not worth my time.

Nielson is the company that compiles the TV ratings.  They are polsters.  The US federal Do Not Call List law does not apply to polsters.  They are not breaking US law.

These Nielsen morons called on Sunday morning?  You gotta be kidding me.  Not only will I never talk to these f***ers.......but, I'm considering legal action against them.  I am on the do not call list.  Now, what do you suppose that means?  Ahhhhh.....maybe DO NOT CALL??  Trust me on this one.  If I ever get a chance to knock the living crap out of one of those Nielsen ratings folks I will kick their mother loving cans all the way to Florida and back again.  You can take THAT to the bank from this pissed off TEXAN.

stop calling me

I just recieved a call from this 727 number. i didnt answer because i dont know the number and especially with it being a 727 area code, that is obviously far away. Anyhow, the lady left a message in which she spoke very fast and i had to replay it a few times before i could understand it. It was the same speil as the previous responses on here,
"Hello this is Nielson Media calling in regards to the TV you just recently purchased. Sorry I missed you, we will try back later some other time."

She left a 1 800 number but i couldnt understand it. Also I have not purchased a tv recently. Very odd.

Nielsen Media called me 9x over the past week from the number 813-366-9800. I blocked that number but today they called me from the 727 number and left a message. The caller had a thick accent and I had difficulty understanding what he was saying other than Nielsen and TV people. So now I have blocked that number too. Annoying.

"This is Neilsen Survey, you know who that is don't you?"

Yes, but It'll do you no good, I don't own a TV.

"That's ok...how many people over 2 years of age live there?
Do you have a pet?
How much do you spend on it's care?"

What's this got to do with tv rating?

"I don't know we wonder the same thing."

Same experience here. I picked up once and stated I was not interested, yet they continue to call - I let the machine pick up.

When I answered, the guy was rattling off in Spanish. I said in Spanish that I don't want to hear his crap this early in the morning. So he asked if I had a TV,  and what kind of programs I liked, he was real vague until he got to the questions like my name and the correct spelling, age, mailing address, where I worked, what my job is, how much I make a year, how many people live here, and so on. Well he got a fake name, address, age, the whole nine yards. I hope that fake name does him some good.

Left message: "This is Nielsen TV ratings.  We'd like you to participate..."  They keep calling, insistently, to my business phone number.
