calls and leaves no message

Started getting these calls yesterday. They called twice today.

Called today and asked for my mother. I told him I could take a message and he said ok...then he hung up.

They are scammers wanting money and pretending to represent charities so they can get around the so called DO NOT CALL LIST ( which as we all know by now is a big joke)Organizational Development out of West Palm Beach, FL

reverse call lookups seem to be all a scam for paid information, including the plug from roger above.

when I am foolish enough to answer a call I know is a scam - when I just feel like messing with them - I ask them about their family or their children before their spiel.   Then I ask 'em if they're proud of what they do, and do they go home every night and tell their family how much money they've stolen that day.

I am getting calls and no one is on the line.

10/30/2008 7:18 PM.  Caller ID showed two numbers, 7278427127 and 7868662535.
When I do ot recognize the number or name, I do not answer, letting the caller talk to the message machine.  Usually I get no message, as was the case thjis time.

727-842-7127 (WCS) 7/30/09 12:44 pm.  Man said he was from Community Services soliciting for the Florida Highway Patrol.  These people are a for-profit fundraiser for some not-for-profit organizations; they work on commission.

want them to quit calling, no matter what they are hyping, selling or giving away!!!!!!!!!!!!annoying, and no message left on machine.

Been getting calls from this number frequently. Today someone named Joe or John Cassio actually was on the line. Very rude! Asked for my husband and his schedule. I asked what he was calling in reference too and if he could stop calling this number. He hung up.

I got a call from this number today and a guy named Joe or John Cassio asked for my spouse and his schedule. VERY CREEPY! I asked what for and he became very rude (I won't repeat what he said)! I asked where he was calling from and if I could be removed from their calling list. He hung up.

Call is from a company representing the Florida Association of State Troopers (FAST).

The company is looking to collect money for the families of injured or killed Florida State Troopers. With further inquiry, the company provided the telephone number to FAST, which is 800-342-4579.

Upon calling FAST, I was informed that the charity donates at least 20% of the collected funds to FAST. The other 80% or less goes to the telemarketing agency who is performing the calls and mailings.

I received a call for the first time at 8:51pm tonight to my cell so I only saw the number 1-727-842-7127. They hang up pretty quickly but I wasn't going to answer anyway. Well, when I typed the number in yahoo search box I received a person's name and address without further search. The three names are: Elsy Marquez, Elsy Marquezoo, and Elsy Perez, Edenwood Dr., Holiday, FL 34691. This was the exact search page I was taken to; (http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-tyc7&p=727-842-7127&type=). Without the parentheses of course. Although, area code 727 covers Pinellas County, Florida, and the western third of Pasco County. If I continue to receive calls I will simply add the number to my list of 10 blocked numbers on my T-Mobile Family Allowance site. I hope this was helpful.

I received a call staying was the asociotion of Florida Patrol, and they were looking for support. The guy on the phone speaks in spanish and was really unrespectful.

According to the Washington states SES, Associated Community Services only gives 31% of all our money we donate back to the charity.  In other words, a lot of the charities represented by Robert Burland and Associayed Community Services give the majority of donated money back to Robert Burland in the form of "fundraising expenses". Makes one wonder who owns the 60,000 stock in Associated Community Services. I have simply made it a practice to not to give to any charity reresented by Associated Community Services.  If any one else wants me to do some research on these charities, let me know.  You'll get a kick out of the Childrens Charitable Foundation in SC...theyre the ones who give only 8% to services.  Gets me ill that they use cancer, veterans and kids to make a buck.

Don't be fooled by these so-called charity calls.  These are telemarketers who initiate contracts with any organization that will have them.  They can collect money and need give as little as 2% to the "charity" they represent.  There is also a "minimum collected" clause which allows them to keep all the money and give none to the "charity" if they don't reach a specified target amount.  Legitimate charities do not use these "people."  If you want to donate money to the Florida State Troopers or to any other charity or service organization, contact that organization directly via mail or web site.  Legitimate charities and service organizations will be happy to provide you with the correct method for donating.  These telemarketing companies are just using the "charity donation" scam to get around the Do-Not-Call list.

This number used to call at all hours, even 2 or 3 in the morning. Heavy accent person(male) would ask me personal things and try to get my credit card numbers and ssn. When I refused, he would start talking about sex and what he wanted to do to me-then started cursing in an eastern(India) accent. The phone company and police are tracing this number so we can prosecute them.
