Looks like it is from the Police Protection Fund but not a very good "charity".  Charity Navigator reports over 80% of its funds go to fundraising expenses and a further 11% to administrative expense, implying that less than 9 % goes to the actual cause.  

Click on and then off when your called by a number or caller ID name you are not familiar with; normally, the telemarketing company will think you have purchased a phone blocker and the harassing phone calls should begin to stop, hope this helps.

I received a call from this number today.  I recently signed up for "nomorobo" after hearing about it on the radio, and it worked and blocked this call.  This service is free and was developed by a contractor under contract by the FTC.  Give it a try!

Dumb monkeys call everyday although the call goes to an error message "line not in service". Shows you there is no human (?!) at the other end nor are the calls screened to weed our disconnected numbers. Lame.

I use a DIGITONE CALL BLOCKER to block all unwanted caller's from ringing my phone.  This Florida area code "727" is blocked so I nevery hear my phone ring any longer.

Just got a call from 727-842-8763. Did not leave a message. These guys call about every year. They are a big scam.

The only police I contribute to are my local police forces, not some bunch of scumbags from out of state that disrupt my household ringing my phone at all hours.

I saw The POL PRO on my caller ID and knowing no one from that name or number did not answer.  They did not leave a message so hopefully they will resist calling again - yes, I am dreaming but maybe not.  Since we caller ID, I don't answer unless I know the caller so I have much lower blood pressure and can just erase any message they are unkind enough to leave.

evidently, this is the worst type of deceitful "charity". they give almost nothing to the police widows and orphans.  i was duped by the fact that they claimed not to be a third party telemarketer.  in fact, that is just what they are.  they are in florida working off an old marketing list. my only question is, how is this a legal charity?

I got this call after 7:00p.m. They didn't leave a message. On the caller ID Newport Rich Florida. I didn't answer the phone. I am not donating $hit and stop calling my damn house. I unplug my phone and turn the ringer off because I have cell phone that I give out to people I want to have it.

Four calls came in from this number to our home on 4 October 2012.  The first three times, no one spoke, but stayed on the line until my wife hung up.  The fourth time the caller hung up first.  We are wondering if someone is checking the house to see if anyone is home.

Why don't we ask FTC to ivestigate and record the rudness of thir messages, I told him he had no manners and he hung up

Right in the middle of telling the guy I wasn't able to contribute he abruptly hung up on me. I didn't even get the chance to complete the word contribute. And I know it's just a matter of time before they call back again looking for a donation.

These idiots called at 8:30 at night!  We have a small child and this was incredibly disruptive.  The guy on the phone just kept rambling while I had to basically scream at him to take us off his phone list.  Does anyone know who all I can report The Police Protective Fund to?  I just never want them to call again.
