CONCERNS OF POLICE SURVIVORS non-profit organization provide assistance to families of officers killed in the line of duty.  Your local police, sheriff or state patrol office would have information to direct you to a local chapter.  Spend your money in the area you live.  The families of the officers killed in your area can use your help.  Do not be a victim.  Unfortunately because of many unscrupulous people we now must refuse all offers of contributing to charitable organization unless you are directly familiar with them.

My phone has been listed on both the Federal Do Not Call List and my state's Do Not Call List since they were first available and these _____ spammers still keep calling. I have even talked with attorneys in my state's Attorney General's Office and they say they frequently run into complications identifying the location of spammers making these calls. They said they identified some of the spam callers and took legal action against them with heavy fines, but it was like playing "wack-a-mole"... you stop them and they just pop up again with a different name and/or geographic location.

Finding these scammers would be a good job that the NSA could do that would be useful for everyone and help the Attorney Generals in various states find these lowlife scum that prey on people to steal from them.

Never answer a call with a bogus name you don't know and never answer a call if you don't recognize the caller as a friend, family member or place of business ... Don't  Answer The Phone! Let it Ring!

I too have been getting calls from this number and never answer them. They also sent me mail asking for donation.

Received a call from 727-848-4259 .. (Pol Prot Fund) ... did not answer call because we were not home!!! :-)

Just got the call today 2-7-14 answered and they hung up on me.

asked for money for the family of a dead cop killed in Indiana. refused request for officers name and unit location. said a cuss word in a foreign language and hung up

claimed to be collecting money for a police officer who was shot during a bank robbery in Indiana.  When asked for more information like the city it happened at and the name of the officer no response and they hung up.

We received a call from this number at 1:23 pm.  No message was left.  We are on our state's Do Not Call list.

Got a call on Fri 1/31/2014 from a guy claiming to represent a group collecting donations for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty. His caller ID was New Port Richey, FL, but I believe he was talking about Indiana or Ohio families. He knew my name. He said he'd send me decals to put on my car (or something!), and then led right into, "just give me your credit card number, ma'am". I audibly gasped slightly, and said I NEVER give my credit card number out to cold calls, EVER...that as a police officer, he should surely understand that. He just pressed me again for my cc number. What a pest! I asked him to send me info on his group, but no go, not unless I pay first! By this time I was for sure figuring scam, and I was pretty annoyed, but also quite amused at his persistence. How long would this guy last? I wanted to know, so did not hang up. He EVEN explained to me how he was saving me so much time and hassle - "you won't have to go to all the trouble of writing a check.." he sighed, "...or find an envelope, or hunt for a stamp...". SHEESH! Finally, after about the 5th time of me declining him, he quickly confirmed my address, and then VERY quickly hung up. Fat chance I'll ever get his info in the mail! Seeing all the other posts here is great...this is a scam, and the guy doesn't give up easily. BEWARE! Btw, LOVE this site!

Widows and orphans fund for fallen police officers. Riiiiggghhht. BS. I talked to a cop friend who just laughed and said he wopuld never give them money.

Received a call from them today.  Didn't answer because I worked at local police station and they did not leave a messsge

Said they were from Dayton Ohio and helped families of officers

no message! seems to be a "police donation" call! I called the local and state police departments and they said they don't solicit for money so this has to be a scam to get you information! don't fall for it!

I got a call from this douche Dec 23 in the p.m.. I do not pick up if I don't know who is calling. I always google the number first before calling back.

NEVER answer your phone if you don't know who is calling. Let it go to voice mail. This will take up the time of the scammers and keep them from bothering someone else right away.

I received a call from this number about 5 minutes ago and knew me by name as well. I found it weird since I am on the national and state do not call list. It came up under the police protection fund and noticed the out of state number, and the guy doing the Indiana schpiel. I, as well told them to send me the info and they hung up

They called hung up. Really aggravating when it's 8AM in the morning on a Saturday waking up my youngest. Her only day to sleep late. I thought there is a law that solicitors can't call before 9AM. They must be scum giving charities a bad name.

I sleep during the day and today they called for the first time.  My answering machine answered the call.  I then got 4 more calls today at 30 minute intervals. It looks as if it is a scam having to do with a police protection fund.   The next time they call since they have a Florida based area code I will tell them I already donated all my money to the George Zimmerman defense fund.  If they call again I'll start rapping the song, "F the poice".    If they call again I will tell them the only good cop is a dead cop.  I have a million of them.

Indiana State Policia keep calling because my wife once gave them money. They hang up when I answer. LOL. Have a guess why.
