I finally answered to see who this was and was told they "wanted to thank my husband for contributing $ the last 5 years to the FL Hwy State Patrol". I told him my husband was busy outside with lawn work and he said he'd like to call back. I asked him what he wanted because I was his wife and he hung up on me. I've researched this a bit online and the state patrols say they are not involved. Even if an organization is collecting for police, patrolmen, or fire fighters don't ever give your credit card/ debit card/ check info over the phone. Always have them send the paperwork then research that company. The sad part is that even with legitimate fundraisers by telemarketers the organizations receive such a small percentage raised that you would be better off sending it straight to them.   Check out myflorida.com.

Several calls a week from this number over the past two weeks. Caller I.D. says Timothy Jo.... Carr. They never leave a message. When I do pick up  - nobody answers. I called back and some poor frustrated fellow has a voicemail saying it is an ATT computer error that is causing his number to dial other numbers. He is getting return phone calls everyday from people he has not called from around the country. You think we have it bad - this guy must be ready to blow!

Multiple calls to my cell. Never leave a message. If this is debt collectors from Verizon, I've never had a Verizon account and I never will. I believe they are pusuing someone with a very similar sounding ( and differently spelled ) name.

No response when I answered.  When I called back there was a pre-recording claiming they did not call me, that instead I should take it up with ATT or Verizon.
