If your a prime example of the callers, then I'll be hanging up "Daniel" .. This isn't a one sided story either. Many of us can not donate - we don't have it to give anymore. News flash, a lot of folks are unemployed. News Flash, we all have death's in our family's, civilian, Police, military. News flash, take what you can get and stop demanding XX in $ too. Peoples bills come first, then food and their kids. If there's any left over, it might be feasible.
How nice of you to try and bury this so it won't be noticed by many! It didn't work BTW...
If I make a donation, I want 90% of that going to what its supposed to be for, not some pot bellied pencil pusher behind a desk. If you truly want to do charity work, donate your time and stop taking from the real charity donations in $$ that are meant for those who really need it more then you do.
Here's another news flash for you. People do not want to be called to the point its flat out harassment and when they say DNC, you put them on the list. You may be a "charity" but you still have rules, you can still get into trouble and its the people the money's meant for that suffer when you get fined for those lousy tactics.
Here's what your nasty little post cost you tonight Daniel. We will never donate again.. And if you call, you'll be told why. And if you continue, I'll report you and file complaints. I'm sure those people really needing the money are gonna thank you!
Have a nice nite..

yeah you sound like a real dumbass the police department don't have a connection with the charity because there an independent charity what that means is they are the ones who provide the free comprehensive line of duty death benefit for the families of all the officers don't you understand that if you contact the IRS they will have information about the organization not your dumbass Police Department and for all you stupid people that say older calling from Florida that's because if you will listen you'll find out that it's cheaper to call out of state where I live in state don't you understand that if you're too stupid contact your phone company retards
daniel crews 2014-04-23 01:17:07 Unknown
so let me get this straight you had no intelligence level to actually listen to what the caller had to say first sounds to me like you're a moron
daniel crews 2014-04-23 01:15:51 Unknown
okay to all you people out there bitching and complaining saying all this is not a legitimate organization why don't you actually pay 2 seconds a f****ng attention before you judge and organization who obviously has been in business for over 25 years who is lice
nsed and registered with oil state and federal agencies required by law and as a 501 c3 tax exempt charity why don't you people actually listen to the f****ng call first before you make your judgements you people don't take into consideration how many families are actually right now without finances because of a death in the family all you care about is hanging up the phone before you listen 90 percent of the colors that I deal with are stupid social intelligence and listen

Well, they're recycling the number again. They're a scam, and they got my number from a single donation to the local sheriff's aid association for my county. Never again!!!
Joe 2013-12-12 20:11:58 Telemarketer
Told them once again, send me info by mail. Said they would need donation now as there funds are low for Christmas. They just never quit.
Mikie 2013-11-16 17:03:47 Unknown
No one there when I answered. Caller ID said "Police Protect". They will only give pennies on the dollar to some police organization or they will plunder your credit card. Either way they are losers.
Roger 2013-11-08 00:00:58 Telemarketer
Still making calls and leaving no message. But I called the number back and got a recording that this is what it claimed to be.

Called a number of times, even when I lived in a different state over the pasts 6 years. police protection Fund, its a scam when I asked this guy if he were a cop, I asked him where and a few other questions he hung up. Most of the time they say nothing and hang up and never leave a message. if they were legit, they would leave a message, what a bunch of losers.

I've been getting the same calls over and over but they will not stop. I looks like this has been going on for a long time. Why hasn't the government shut this person down?
Lea 2013-10-07 23:07:15 Unknown
Keep getting calls from 727-848-4259 Police Protection Fund it says on caller ID. This call is a scam call! They call me everyday sometimes 2 and 3 times. They called me last year also and I hung up on them. They will not stop. You need to call your Attorney General's office and file a complaint against this scam. Make a note of the time these people call you, their name and phone number. We all need to report them and shut them down for once and for all. Although I'm sure they will come up with another scam. If you want to donate to the Police Department do so in your own community/county or State but you call them yourself. I donate to my Deputy Sheriff's Association in my own county. Therefore I know it is ok. Always support your police and firefighters but do so only in your community.

I just received my first solicitation attempt, but I'm very familiar with this shady bunch. As my parents' guadian/conservator, I had to research several questionable transactions with my Alzheimer's sufferering folks (yes, both have the disease). Instead of gritting my teeth and shaking my head, I chose to relate my parents' PPF experience to the FL and VA state attorneys general. And when scammers use US Mail to make unscrupulous solicitations, be sure to make a formal complaint with the USPS Investgation Service. Victimization of the elderly generates keen interest.

Same number calls for police, weeks later it is for fire fighters, then first responders, then state police. The man always starts with we hope we can count on you to help us again. If have never sent any money, I allowed them to send info that had a return envelope for me to send them a check. I sent it back empty with SCAM written in sharpie. So I am on there bother as much as they can list. As soon as I answer I say I never send money to anyone who calls my home have a great day and hang up on them.
