This company presented themselves as being very professional and conducts thier business with class.  I was treated with respect and felt they sincerly cared about my questions and concerns. They were very detailed about the programs they had to offer and even gave me a quote on the phone while I took an application. I was impressed.

They just called me at work...same scenario as Anastasia.  The guy wanted to argue with me.  Ge insisted that he and I spoke a month ago!  This has to be a scam!  Whar a creep!

I recieved a call form these people on my voicemail. I immediately checked it out as the prefix is a Florida area code and I have family there. Thanks for the info everyone.

I missed calls to my cell phone from this number, last night and this afternoon. I do not know that number, or American Home Loans. We have not made financing inquiries of anyone in the last 10 years. My cell phone is a Verizon phone. I understand 727-898-0500 is a Verizon land line. Verizon should shut them down. They do not have permission to call my cell phone.

These jokers called my 15 year-old son's CELL PHONE to try and solicit mortgage business from him.

I recieved a call from this number today 9/1/09. They called and left a voicemail at first and said they were "returning my phone call" from last night about re-financing my home. Then, they called once again while I was busy and I had a missed call from them. Therefore, I called back and this is how the rest of the conversation went:
Me: "Hi, I had a missed call and voice mail from this number and I just wanted to let you know that you have the wrong number."
Other guy: "No we have the right name and number. You called last night and we were returning your call about re-financing your home."
Me: "No, I did not call. I do not own a home."
Other guy: "You don't own a home? Well are you married?"
Me: "No, I live in an apartment."
Other guy: "Well are you CUTE?"
Me: "Excuse me?! What company do you work for?!"
Other guy: (frantically) "Oh I'm sorry... I dont know, I..."
Me: "Do not EVER call this number again! Who do you think you are?!"
    Then I hung up on him
About ten minutes later I recieved a call from the same number but it was another male. He claimed that I called the night before and left a voicemail and when I asked to hear the recording of the voicemail he didn't know what to say. I told him to immediately take me off his calling list and if he calls again I will report him and his company to the authorities.
IF YOU RECIEVE A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE, DO NOT ANSWER. THEY ARE SLEEZY SCAM ARTISTS AND JUST WANT TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Okay. So I have a few questions. I just received a call from this number also - on my CELL PHONE, that has been placed on the DO NOT CALL list. I did visit a mortgage website, but it was in February. This is now the middle of May. Why the interest all of a sudden? I have had six calls in the last week from Mortgage people, but only one when I requested information to begin with.

I chose the option "1" so that I could speak with someone to validate the call, but was given an answering machine. I agree with the writer who states this is a phishing attempt and will be forwarding all of the information to the FBI Cyber Crime division.

for the record - American Home Loans is located in the "Bank" of America" building....the call was courtesy follow up call to an internet request submitted online thru lowermybills.com,  lendingtree.com or another freindly mortgage website. The lead was provided to us at a charge from a ligitament marketing company. from the number we called. If the information wasnt correct, than there was simple  misunderstanding between the company that provided the lead, marketing and the call that was made. I guess perception is reality, but not every company that calls someone has the wrong intentions. Sorry if you took it that way or had the impression. Its clear you were confused and frustrated by the call, but hopefully this clarifies things.

What a bunch of BS!!  Today 2/26/09 I received a call to my cell phone from "Chris" from "American Bank."  Our conversation went like this:


HIM: "Hi, this is Chris from American Bank.  When we spoke last month about your mortgage, you had asked me to give you a call back when the rates dropped below 5%."

ME: "Umm, I don't recall speaking with you."

CHRIS: "Yes, we discussed it last month.  I can currently offer you a rate of 4.75% which is much better than your current rate.  I just need some information from you."

ME: "I don't recall speaking with you and I'm not going to give you any personal information over the phone --"

CLICK.  The line went dead.



This was obviously a case of phishing to get my bank information.  I could smell it a mile away, but South Florida has so many elderly people who are not savvy in this regard and I fear they will fall victim to this scheme.

Idiot "Chris" didn't block his number; he is calling from: 727-898-0500.  I hope the FBI or someone takes action and stops this scumbag!!

Mortgage lender, very professional mailed us 1st then called to follow up, I was impressed with there professionalism, I ended up doing business with them and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a company that has integrity and trust.
