They left a voice mail "We're calling about the equipment your doctor asked us to order for you."

That's it. They didn't even say my name.

Don't count on the Do Not Call Registry doing any good.  I am on it and have been for a while and still get phone calls from these jokers!  I have reported them to the better business bureau.  Hopefully that will do something.

Oops, that's the FTC, not the FCC.  The FTC handles the National Do Not Call Registry.  File today.  Give them more ammo.  Here's what they say...

"Do not call complaints will be entered into a secure online database available to civil and criminal law enforcement agencies. While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint will help the agency investigate the company, and could lead to law enforcement action."

Nothing will change unless individuals, LOTS of individuals, take action.  It's your turn.

Called my cell (which IS on the DNC registry) at 1400 local.  It is clearly a solicitation to consolidate credit card debts.  I pressed "1" in order to advise them they were in violation of federal (FCC) law.  Got a female who asked if I wanted to learn more about how to lower my credit card debt" (or some similar verbiage).  I replied, "No, I want to know what company this is."  Without a word, she immediately hung up.  I didn't bother to call the number back, I was pretty sure it was spoofed (which is confirmed here by so many comments).

I submitted my complaint (I believe this will get you there - https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=1 ) AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT ANY ONE ELSE WHO GOT A CALL FROM THESE CLOWNS file one, as well.  I don't know what, if anything, comes from all of us filling out these comments on THIS website.  It's got to get to the FCC.  Follow that link.  File your complaint!

I just got a call from this number on 6/23/11. It called during the day while I was at work, so I didn't answer. I was wondering who would call me from Tennessee, but now I know! I heard Congress just passed a bill in 2009 that makes it a felony for anybody to spoof their call origin for any improper purpose, so if they are having the caller ID show up from a disconnected number, but are calling from somewhere else, combined with violating several other rules like the do not call list, not to mention a potential scam, then they can be criminally penalized anywhere between $10k to $1million for that. I hope the FCC actually goes after some of these creeps. It's really becoming a hassle.

I received this call while we were driving through an area with limited service.  All I managed to hear was something about them trying to contact me before they closed my account.  I was curious so when I was in a better service area, I called the number and, of course, got the message that the number was no longer in service.  I, too, am on a DO NOT CALL LIST.  Since the call apparently is coming from Jackson, TN, it seems like it should be easy to track down.  At least I know (from reading the other posts) that I didn't miss and important call!

This is a scam. They say they are Card Holder Services (like Bank of America's Card Member Services). Now they are telling you that they have sent you numerous reminders for you to lower your debt through them.

They will try to get your credit card information INCLUDING your PINs and any passwords you may have.

Report them to the FCC via the Internet immediately.

The calls are usually from cells and go to a call center when you press 9 at the end of the recorded message. Do something mean like shout in the phone, tell them where to go, or insult them gratuitously. These scamming losers really need some kind of client side deterrent. They will NEVER remove your name from their lists since they buy illegal lists and they are NEVER checked for the Do Not Call Registry.

Bottom line: hang up and report the numbers to the FCC if you can't think of a more creative way to stick it to those losers!

please someone tell me how to blck these calls it is out of hand. My husband receives calls all the time now at least up to 2 or more a day from different numbers all the same tactics.  This is stupid and ridiculious. Go on the do not call list and still get calls that I don't want or need, don't they get it that if we wanted their services we'd call for them.

yeah... your "Do Not Call" registration won't get rid of this stuff altogether.  I'm on it, and I still got called by this number.  I think the "Do Not Call" registry is to keep legitimate companies from calling, however I get the feeling the company using this number is not legitimate and therefore doesn't care if they break any rules.

Got a call from this number at 12:10 pm central time. Didn't answer cause I wasn't sure who it was. They didn't leave a message, so I figured they were a telemarketer. Can anyone tell me how to block them from calling me again? Thanks

Receive at least one call a day from one of these scam artists.  Why do I say Scam? Because if they were legitimate they would not be spoofing the caller id.  Any call I receive from an unknown number with a 1 prefix i ignore, let it go to voice mail, and call back when it is convenient for me - IF they leave a message

First call from this number to my cell phone--I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize--they did not leave a message. I immediately checked this website to see if it was an unwanted call, and sure enough, here it is. Hopefully they will not call back.

Same thing happened to me.  I have asked repeatedly for them to stop calling me.  They continue.  Isn't there any protection for consumers against this harrassment?

We are on the do not call list - why are they calling - it is a recorded credit card message and you can't complain to them - called back and says number is not in service.
Can this be enforced and how do I get them to stop calling, it is so annoying.. Thanks

I just saw a post on how someone cut down on these phone calls and thought I would pass it on.  This person has call forwarding and sends the calls to the FCC.  It seems that it works wonders on the amount of calls he is getting.  Maybe if enough people did this, the FCC would do something.  However, be careful that the number being forwarded is not your number as this could cause a problem.  I plan to check this out and see if it would work on my phone.  :)

We have been called 3 times today. Does not do any good to tell them to stop.  Been trying that for over a year.  Maybe a blast from a air horn would get their attention.
