What is the purpose of the call from this number

I am having the same problem with this company calling as well as sending me letters. They say I owe money for a local hospital bill. I believe somewhere around $2,000. The first time I answered a call from this agency,  I thought it might be from a family member as this call originates in Paris, TN. I have family in TN. Instead of a family member, I hear some woman rudely demanding me to verify that I am such and such person. I ask who is wanting to know. She gives me some initials. I ask her what this is about and who this company is. She demands again that I verify I am this person she is trying to reach. I told her I'm not telling her anything. She says fine, I will send (something) in the mail. I recieved a letter a few days later telling me that I owe this money to the hospital but not what it was for or any date this bill originated from. It also stated I had one last chance to pay this bill in full.  I was due to go to the same hospital for a procedure in 2 days. I was concerned because normally unless it is an emergency, a hospital will turn you away if you owe money. My husband called the hospital. They said they have no knowledge or records of either of us owing any money for any reason. We have both used this hospital for about 30 years. We have insurance and always pay any deductibles, etc. before we are admitted or seen in the ER. Since the first call I have recieved At least 2 letters from this collection agency stating they were giving me one last chance to pay this debt before they take  me to court. They also stated in the last letter that they know I have a job. Well that's funny because I have not worked in years. I am a housewife (retired I guess you would say) my husband who should be retired is still working so we can afford to keep our insurance as I am not yet able to draw Medicare!  If we owe this bill why in all these years have we never had any knowledge of this, and why does the hospital also have no knowledge so this?  Also I just got a call from this number just minutes ago and guess what? No one answered my hellos. Nothing!

I have same problem - huge hospital bill from heart attack, no insurance and ss doesn't cover my meds either. so I'm putting my number on the national do not call list.

Had this number call me just a few mins ago. They said hello this is Mr. Davis. All I could hear was typing then they hung up.

731-642-8454 is from a company called MSCB incorperated a collections service for medical debts. They call but when I answer with out fail they hang up I call back and get a person.

why are you calling my phone?

No, I called back and they hung up on me.

I just got a call, they asked for me by name but then wanted me to verify my address, which I wouldn't do.  They identified themselves only as MSCB.  Cold calling me and asking for my address??  Right!  If they are a collections agency, I'm willing to see what the mixup might be but they sure do go about things the wrong way.  Bad business practices.  Also bad on the part of businesses that are hiring these jokers to collect for them.

I recently purchased an iphone for my 86 year old mother .  She keeps getting a call from 731-642-8457.  She just got the phone Christmas.

She currently is not using her phone as she is learning to text at the present time.  Her cell phone number is

Please help to stop the calls as she is getting confused. These calls must be for someone else.

This number calls all the time . Late at night and early in the morning. When you answer no one is there getting to be harassment . Really getting tied of it

I live in the same town as this company and my phone number is almost the same. You wouldn't believe the calls I get and people get mad at me for calling them and I've never called! I've gone and talked with the company but they don't seem to care! The majoriety understand but some get mad at me and don't understand. Sorry folks-

I continue to get calls day in and day out from this number.  As others have said this is harassment and need to stop.  They never leave a message, and no one answers the phone.  I am tempted to push the number that states that this number is not mine and see if this stops.  I have had today alone 6 calls, and they call really early in the morning into the late night, I have gotten where I keep the ringer on the phone turned down so I have to check the caller id to see who has called.

NO THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED I CHECKED. AND HE IS NOT REGISTERED. THE CO YES THE LAWYER IS NOT.. AND THEY ARE OUTRAGEOUS IN TWHAT THEY WANT.

this david edwards is sueing me for the money i owe 744$ and still get the calls. but i called the hospital i owe they worked out payments to pay it. but was told to show in court. he is a debt collector. who has assinine collection practices

I'd love to pay my bills IF I HAD A JOB OR COULD FIND A JOB!!! They can wait, feeding my kids is more important than a stupid hospital bill. Frankly when they charge you $50 for a aspirin, they deserve what they get!!! I pay the bills that allow me to live and not be homeless. My family comes first not a hospital bill! So if me feeding my family isn't grown enough for you i don't know what to tell you. Obviously, you are sittin pretty and have no idea what it means to struggle.

This number calls me too..I sat on the line one day for 10 minutes. No one said nothing no recorded message!!! Obviously they need to hire people! I'll take the job!!! (promise I won't harass anyone!) just need a pay check. If this is a collection agency, you can't get anything from me broke and unemployed!!!

I wanted to say that i was not aware i could applie for medicade I know i owe a hospital some money and dont currently have a job to pay them for over a yr no work and as you say bills dont go away just makes me sick that I cant pay what i owe but the infomation you give a bout medicade i can applie for since im  diabetic i was not aware of that thanks for the posting i will see about what i can recieve

just received a phone call from this company. I read some of comments and if you are receiving harrassing phone calls from this collection agency  you may want to read the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT or FDCPA. All collection agencies have to abide by the FDCPA regulations (i worked 3 hellish years in a collection agency) if you are getting more than 1 call a day on the same phone number (how many weekly calls you get depend on what state you live in) then they are in the wrong, know your rights especially if you are not the debtor and they keep calling you and then get smart with you (i smell lawsuit).

A reputable collection agency wouldn't ask questions like that, I wouldn't think!

sounds like a scam to me!
