Yep ... same thing happened to me. Reported to D.N.C.

This phone number just called and offered to lower my interest rate if I pressed 1, when I pressed 1 it disconnected.

Just got a call but didn't answer due to the weird number.

OBVIOUS scam. Claimed to be calling from my bank, but could not identify what bank I use. Would probably frighten an elderly person. Extremely predatory people at work here.

iLet the chicken answer the phone, baaak baaaak, it was auto bot sounding woman telling me icould lower my cc rates LAST CHANCE! igot an earlier call from a diff # Washington and answered to beeps called them back to cuss off and got beeps. Normally inever get/answer these calls. Maybe they r connected.

THIS number just called me. it freaks me out because literally i know every number that calls me and i didnt know this one. I dont answer numbers i dont know. I am on the DNC list so I am unsure why i receive calls like these.

Just got a call from this number, but checked here first, and didn't answer.  How odd the number is all zeros.

Also what I got used to doing is like what you did here. Just type the number into google before you answer and this will confirm if it is a scam. If it is a legit number there will be not reports of complaints and should tell you who the number is from if it is a legit company.

No reason to be scared they are usually just scammers phishing for information which they can sell to other telemarketers. The important thing is never to give any information over the phone unless you verify who it is....even if they have your name and other personal information. Sometimes they will tell you they are debt collectors and if that is the case tell them to mail you the bill and hang up on them.

The best thing you can do is call your service provider and ask how to block that number. It might not stop them from using other numbers to call you from though and is annoying but not much else anyone can do.

I tend not to answer any calls where I do not recognise the callers number and I figure if it is anything important or legit they will leave a message. You will find most of the time if you call these numbers back you get a message infoming you it is an invalid # they called from.

When they call me and I answer they don't say anything until I hang up and they call again and it's very scary

I received several calls so far saying:
"I'm calling on behalf of biz listings to update your businesslisting
They refuse to take my phone number off of their call list.

I got almost 10 calls from this number and there was a woman on the other hand who said she is calling from my school and was asking if i am working outside the campus, i replied her "NO" but she went on calling up again and was also saying that don't lie cause it will make things worse.

These people call multiple times per week, identifying themselves as the Yellow Pages. I am on the federal do not call list. I have asked for the past year to be removed from their list. When I ask that they remove me from their list, they tell me they will call back tomorrow, which they most often do. I have had three calls from them this week. When I asked the man who just called if he would remove me from their list, he said no. They will keep calling.

These poeple keep calling and play games. WTF???

This number called my cell 6 times in a half an hour, and was asking for my boyfriend. Told them to stop calling, and they still persisted. Would not say anything to me because I was not the person they were asking for.

I've got a call from this number this morning. I didn't answer because of the international code, I am in UK and have nothing to do with the country this call came from....quite weird

I get a call nearly every day now from the same caller at this number - 732-000-0000. When I tell them not to call again, they say they will call back tomorrow. They identify themselves as being part of the web yellow pages. Today I decided to ask them where I could find my listing on line. They gave me these two addresses:

www.pagelink.com

William told me that I could just put my company name in the search bar. There was no search bar on the first site.
When I looked up the second site and tried the search, I found no listing and he hung up on me.

It is a total scam, but I do like finding out more about them each time. And, then again, William could be lying to me. This would be no surprise.
