They called me at work demanding my social? They said they already had the last four of it...it wasn't mine. I still want to know how they got my information. I don't have any bills in collections...never had.

Received a call from person identifying themselves as Renee Mills I do not know this person telling me to call a 1866-269-0804. I do not respond to calls like this.

They called my work line, for the first time that I know of.
They asked if I was "first name, last name," and I said that I was.
Then, she asked me to verify my DOB, to which I said, "Ha! Nope!"
She said, "well, I can do a reverse look-up by your social, so are the last 4 of your social blah blah blah blah?"
That info was not mine, so she asked me to verify my DOB again.
I said, "Ok, this has to be a joke, right? I just told you I wasn't doing that."
She hung up.

Called my cell phone "on behalf" of my husband regarding his federal student loans...which are currently being worked on between us and the government. Creepy they called my PRIVATE cell phone number and even creepier that they called me on BEHALF of my husband. Dude. Also, BIG kudos to the government for sending us to collections while we are waiting for them to respond to us in the first place.

they used fake names, ask for information. I dont give information by phone. Is a scam, they get info out of you so they can get your id and s.s., identity thef. block them or call federal comunications. Stop calling is harrasment.

Got the "This call may be recorded..." spiel. Then they asked for a "Mic****...(pause) Mic**** [same last name].
Nope. Only people who ever call for that individual are shady debt collectors looking for information on their deadbeats. Been there, the last folks struck out too. You won't get any more info if you keep calling, so don't even try.

Pioneer Credit Recovery. They called hundreds of times. Finally, I answered. The person was quite polite and asked for someone by name. I don't know this person and told him so. The calls have stopped.

This number had called me at 8 o'clock in the morning for the last 3 days. I kept calling them back and all they have to say is that I need to stop calling the number. You FKING call me at 8 o'clock in the morning to bug me about something that you leave no informationa about. They won't even answer my calls now and I hope they will leave me alone. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and if they continue I will report them to NJ Attorney General office.

They call every one minute. They have called 15 times today.

These are the addresses and phone numbers listed for this Pioneer Credit Recovery outfit. As you can see they are using scam numbers to contact people instead of using their real contact number. They also fail to identify their business name when you call the number back. If you press them for it before you let them run your phone number and give them your name they will hang up.

Received a call from this number and they said they were Pioneer Credit Recovery. Apparently they are looking for someone with my name, but not me. Wouldn't give me any information because of the privacy laws, but I believe they are probably a bill collector. The agent on the phone was named Amanda and was pretty rude when we figured out they weren't looking for me.

They are a debt collector. My advice - find out the name of the company (I believe this specific one is Pioneer Credit Recovery. Go online and get the main corporate address for the specific company. Once you have the address - send out a certified letter (where you get proof from the post office you mailed the letter) and send the following letter to them:
To Whom It May Concern;
I am writing in response to your constant phone calls from your office.
According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, [15 USC 1692c] Section 805(c): CEASING COMMUNICATION: You must cease all communication with me after being notified in writing that I no longer wish to communicate with you. Therefore, I demand that you stop calling me (and my relatives) at home, at work, on my cell phone or at any other location! I am also on a limited call plan with my cell phone ? and the calls that your company consistently places to me is costing me money directly out of pocket.
In accordance with the federal FDCPA, now that you have received this "stop calling" letter, you may only contact me to inform me that you:
? are terminating further collection efforts;
? invoking specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by you or your company; or
? intend to invoke a specified remedy.
Be advised that I am well aware of my rights! I know that any future contact by you or your company violates the FDCPA and that since you already have my location information, calls made by you or your company to any 3rd party concerning me violates section 805(b)2 of the FDCPA.
Be advised that I am keeping accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company, including tape recording all phone calls and keeping records of all voicemails and incoming calls. If you continue calling me (and any family members/references of mine) I will pursue all available legal actions to stop you from harassing me directly, my family members, friends, associates and/or co-workers as well as any credit references.
Please also note, and take into consideration, I am sending this letter to you via the United States Postal Service with receipt proof that it was mailed to your company (as well as tracking as proof it was received) so I will have physical proof in hand this letter was sent to you should you continue to harass me and I need to take legal action.
Sincerely,
Once you send this letter (and have proof it was mailed - wait about two weeks. If you get any more calls - verify with the caller that you have proof you mailed the letter and if anyone from their company calls you again you will take legal action.
They should hopefully stop harassing you after that.
Good luck!!!!

Received a call from someone asking for a friend I havent seen for 10 years. Obviously a debt collector.
| Vicki 2011-11-21 13:14:14 Unknown |
They can legally call you because they are not soliciting (selling anything). They are debt collectors... It's a whole new ball game :/

Somone called looking for a person that happened to share my last name. I have no idea of who the person they are looking for is so there's no way I'm calling them. Why waste 10 minutes of my life waiting on an 800# they left to refer to a reference # regarding someone I don't know. WEIRD.

Called today and left a message saying to call Allison... do not recognize the name and they did not identify themselves. Will report them as I am on the Do Not Call registry.

Received a phone call regarding a family member I haven't seen in over a year. Do NOT appreciate such calls as we're NOT in contact with this person or have any information on them. Don't know how they got my number. Need to find another route, can't help. Will report this number if they call us back.
