Debt Collector
So frustrating. I believe this is Accounts Receivable Technologies. They call and call and call me. When I answer the phone, I just get a message. When I call back, I usually just get dead air. On the few occasions I got a human being to talk to, they wouldn't tell me any information about the debt. I DO have some old outstanding things from a few years ago when I was unemployed, but I want to know what I'm paying on before I send them any money.

I asked them to mail me proof of the debt and then I would work with them. I truly want to get this old stuff paid off. They got completely rude and nasty with me. They wanted a payment over the phone (without telling me who the original creditor was or mailing me any documentation). It's ridiculous. I know I have some old debts that need to be paid and I'm willing to pay -- but they treat me like I'm a pariah and won't give me any basic information. I think I'm at least entitled to know WHAT I'm paying before I pay it.

I suggest you call them back before calling them scam. I called them back and after providing my name they have all the information. Everything was explained to me in details by a nice lady as to why they have been calling me, they were trying to collect my over due payments which I have almost forgotten.

This is funny as hell! The company themselves responding to this thread... amazing. Looks like this responder and the few below it feel just a bit guilty.

Everyone should have learned by now that "doing their job" is no excuse for their moral compromise, and their rudeness and anger towards fellow people really is a manifestation of their own sad lot in life. Sometimes debt collectors make me feel relieved about my situation, because I find that they are worse off than I am.

Theis company are lying scam artists. They called me numerous times and left extremely rude voicemails. I called abck imediatley and they put me on hld for 20 minutes at a time, I'm not gonna wait that long. Finally go through to them, they said I owed about 90 bucks. Operator asked me for my criedt card, gave it to her, she said it didn't go through. So she asked for my routing info and I stupidly gave it to her, next thing I know they debited 700 dollars to my account. They lied big time, but I got the money back. Check and telephone fraud dissolve any contract they they hold (bought from whomever). They are liars and scam artists, beware about giving them any information.

Before making any judgment we must also understand these callers are just doing their job as they also have to pay their bills. Our responsibility is to call and try to work with them whatever our situation may be.

If you have a valid dispute and feel you don't owe anything; instead of ignoring them you need to get in touch for someone to assist you and stop the calls. I had a similar experience with the same agency, you just need to explain the situation and that is all it takes.

Instead of blowing them off it is always better to negotiate to resolve the debt, because at the end of the day it is the money which you owe. I have come across some reasonable reps who will make the arrangement keeping in mind your financial situation.

I somehow happen to come across this site while googling for some other number. I have dealt with collection agencies in the past and would like to add my experience on how important it is to settle one's debt sooner than later, it really does hamper the credit score. I have actually come across a lot of helpful agents while settling my own debts.

I have been getting calls from this number since some time now and I must say that the caller has been polite enough even while leaving messages on my voicemail. We must understand that these people are helping us and should not label them as offenders. Infact the caller has helped me to resolve on my credit situation by offering me partial payment agreement which would help me sort out my credit score.
We should understand that if debtors like us have not paid for the dues which we owe; these guys are just doing their job.

I have received calls for months, ignored them for months b/c I don't pay attention to anonymous callers - it was obvious they were likely a collection firm. Finally decided to look the company up via Google - they are an Accounts Receivable company (ie, collections) working for a lot of other companies. They were calling me about a $50 charge still on my old Gold's Gym account.

When I called them back and explained I had recently paid the charge, they were very nice, asked me to fax the receipt so they will quit calling (they were still calling b/c Gold's hadn't notified them yet about the payment). After I faxed receipt, never received another call.

Really wasn't a big deal...they're just trying to collect overdue accts. You should call them back b/c unpaid accts count against your credit score unless you DO something about it.

Got a call yesterday that showed up on caller id as "Woodbridge, NJ" (732-726-6494) that hung up after one ring - I called back and got no company name, just an automatic recording asking for "what was the three-digit extension that on the paperwork you recieved in the mail or go to directory"

Then I get a call from 732-726-5692 saying that they are from "First Credit Services"... and to reach extension 163 for Mr Wilcox... Never heard of 'em

Whatever -- Sounds like a scam

Recieved the same call, I just had my identity stolen about a month ago, and was told that alot of the people who have stolen info. will sell it to other thugs who will then attempt to run scams. I don't think this is a coincidence to be getting these calls so shortly after having my identity stolen. Unfortunetly I don't know the recourse when dealing with these kind of people, or who to call. Check "ripoff.com" there could be some info. there.

This has gone on to my cell phone for days.  I Googled; number is unlisted in Woodbridge (Ithink I'm remembering correctly),New Jersey to some business.  This morning I called back and got operator there to say name of business was "Accounts Receivable."  I was finally switched to "Ron" but who refused to tell me anything unless I gave him my name and number.  I'm usually polite, but I was so angry that some idiot thinks I'll give anything over the phone that I encouraged him to get off the phone with me.  He did.  No credible business has an unlisted number, and I have no credit problems.  but if I can find anything illegal about these people, I'll contact the law.  what jerks.

We have recieved the same call from that number several times. When you call it back, you are always left on hold.  i think it might be a a business that charges you by the minute to hold. The longer you hold, the more the bill adds up. Just a guess.
I am not sure.

I received call from this number at my home. I called it back from a different number. The person wanted me to give him my home number which I would not do. I asked what type of company this was and was told it was a collection agency. I have no outstanding debt but was told without me giving them my home number the calls would continue at least three times per day.

I got the same exact call. No name or number. They wanted me to call and said this is not a sales call, but pertains to you. The caller had a slight Brit accent. Any idea who this might be ?
