I also just received a call from 740-217-1089, registered as Walnut Hills, OH.  She said she was a supplier for Duke Energy and would like to fix the variable rate I was paying.  Technically she did not say she was from my present supplier but she made it sound like she was.  When I mentioned this she became confrontational and aggressive, which I made her aware of.  I asked to speak to a supervisor SIX times and she refused by trying to divert back to her sales pitch.  Finally I asked if she was refusing to let me speak to a supervisor and she said they were "all in a meeting."  She hung up.  It's discouraging that if you don't listen very carefully to these sale people that they can easily make you think they are from Duke Energy and managing your account.  You could be switched over to another company without realizing it.

I agree with retired - looks like they just started calling folks. I got my first one today. The caller id showed "Patriot OH".

Just got a call from 740-217-1089.  It was some woman who sounded like she just got out of bed.  Said she was calling from some company...didn't catch the name...to help us with our Duke Energy bills.  She said that our bills are high and she can attach something to our bill to make it lower.....YEAH Right!!!  I told her we have no problem with our Duke energy bill and if we did, we would call Duke directly.  She said that she was sure that my husband would want to save money.  I told her we were not interested in anything she had to say and hung up on her.  She was still talking in her raspy voice when I hung up.  So annoying!!! From the dates on the previous posts, it looks like this outfit just started calling people very recently.

I got a call from this number, it rang once, then disconnected.  The caller ID said Cincinnati, Ohio, but the area code is not for the Cincinnati area.

I received a call from this 740-217-1089 number again today which shows up as Walnut Hills, OH. This time the lady identified the company as Eligo Energy calling with regards to my Duke Energy bill. I am not sure what she was "selling".  I tried to ask her to remove my number from their calling database but she hung up on me a few words into it.

Same here: 740-217-1089. I got the same patter. She mentioned that they are a supplier for Duke Energy. I have been on the Do Not Call list for Duke Energy suppliers for quite some time and have diligently maintained my name on that list. I told her this and she said she does not work for Duke Energy. She refused to identify the name of the company making the call. She repeatedly told me that she would add me to the Do Not Call list. I repeatedly explained to her that the Do Not Call list is meaningless if each supplier calls me before they add me to the list. I explained that this is why Duke Energy created the list for its suppliers and that her company was not abiding by the rules. I insisted that she reveal the name of the company, but she steadfastly continued to refuse and eventually hung up on me.

Got a call from this number 740-217-1089 saying they wanted to speak with Mr. or Mrs. (insert my last name here) regarding the electric bill. When I said "This is her.", they hung up. Called the number back immediately and it says it is not in service. How is this possible?
