Ok Since obviously no-one on here really knows what they are talking about - I'll inform you.

First off Cardida is a Resort Developing Company that has three resorts, two in Ohio, one in Florida.  It's not a scam, hoax, timeshare, etc. Just about every mall in eastern ohio, western PA and northern WV has entry forms for the car/25000 giveaway.  These forms are cardida's data entry forms and they do give away the prize along with several other smaller prizes.  They do not however sell your names to others and only call from 2:30pm - 9:00pm sun - thursday.

They are calling you to schedule an appointment to tour one of their resorts. You will be asked if your interested in purchasing a membership during this tour, so if your not interested in a membership, you probably don't want to go.

The resorts have RV hookups, campgrounds & cabins, one has a water park, one a private lake, pools, games etc.  If you like the outdoors or interacting with others while vacationing then answer and go see what they have to offer.

If your not interested - answer your phone and ask to be placed on their internal DNC list.  That will stop the calls, otherwise you will be called 2-4 times a day for the next 10-15 days.

BTW - The national list does nothing because you have to sign the entry form which gives them permission to call you (read fine print and the back of the form)

If you want more information let me know

We signed up for a few things at an RV show, although don't specifically remember signing up for this. However, Cardida called and said that we won 40 nights camping ANYTIME for 1 year. All we had to do was tour Pymatuning Valley Resort in Ohio. Of course, we knew they were trying to sell something. But we thought, free camping, why not check it out.

Well, we got there and were told that we had won these 40 nights but it said that their members had first choice, and holidays and weekends may not be included. We say that maybe we can go on a weekend if there are any openings left. They guy says "no holidays or weekends." We point out that it says MAY not, and he kind of stutters and says, yea, maybe you might be able to. But he does not sound like we will be ever able to camp weekends. We work doing the week, and the weekends are the only times we have to camp. It did not sound like we would be able to even use this "prize" and we almost walked out right then but this was a 2-hour drive, and we were curious how much this deal was going to cost.

Well, after a tour of an average campground with campsites and cabins (that, I admit, were nice inside), the gameroom, etc, (that were not real clean) and a video of their other two campgrounds, another in Ohio and one in Florida, we could buy the "membership" for a mere 15,000-something and then STILL have to pay to camp with your RV (except the first 15 days) or if you stay in their cabins, you had to pay also. This was just for one campground if you did not purchase today and purchased later.

However, purchase TODAY, and you get to use all three campgrounds, get 3 life memberships (you can will it to your children or sell it), and they had extra things like you could rent a pontoon boat for the day, or go to certain campgrounds throughout the USA (Coast to Coast program. But you have to pay for EVERYTHING. Yea, it's cheaper than you normally would but you are paying a huge amount of money for the membership AND there is also a maintenance fee (about $350) that you have to pay EVERY year to maintain the campground.

Of course, when we did not look too keen on the whole idea, they said that they would "buy back" (like we ever paid to begin with) certain parts of the program, such as the 3 lifetime memberships. They would buy 2 back (so you have the one) for something like $1000 (I can't remember exact numbers but wish I would have asked to keep the paper that they wrote all the figures on!) They kept subtracting parts of the program until they had it down to a tiny $6000, which they wanted to finance for us at 18%. I don't think so.

We told them that we have certain campgrounds we like to go to and none of them were in the "coast to coast" program, and we did not prefer to spend most of our time at these campgrounds, plus the price was ridiculous. We also told them it was very misleading to tell us we won 40 free days of camping ANYTIME when it was only during the weekdays which is nearly impossible for us and if we are taking a whole week, we indeed would be going someplace much nicer (our favorite - the beach and ocean).

Oh, and the original card they gave us at the beginning of the tour with the free 40 days DID say, The members would have first choice and that holidays and weekends MAY not be available. But when the guy took our card to validate it, he came back with a DIFFERENT card that said holidays and weekends WILL not be available. They switched the cards on us, and we did not figure it out until we left. Both of us knew we read the word MAY, and I had carried that card through the tour and it got wrinkled. This was a new unwrinkled card. Wish we would have caught that when we were there.

Oh well, don't think we'll be going there again and hope to warn other people to just say "no thanks."

The previous comments are simply uninformed. The company only calls people who have entered one of our contests and have given us permission to call them, and only then until they have been spoken to once.  The company does NOT make "cold calls", and it absolutely respects the federal and state do-not-call-lists.  We do not use machines for the calling, and if anybody believes that we make uninvited calls to anyplace then they just don't understand all the rules of the workplace in today's world.

As to the long letter above, the writer would have a hard time explaining why we have thousands of satisfied members.  It didn't cost him anything to look, and many people are using the same free offer that he spurned.  The company has been in business over 20 years and given away over $2,000,000 in prizes to "lookers".  In fact, out of our many $25,000 winners, not one has ever bought anything from us and they don't have to!  A better source of information, if one is looking for it, might be the BBB or, if you get an invitation, come out and see for yourself and then write something nice if we deserve it.

Alright folks, I am here to set the record straight. First off we (Cardida Resort Group )are NOT a scam in anyway shape or form, You are receiving calls from us because YOU filled out an entry form to win a new car or $25,000.00 in cash. It plainly states on the entry form that you will receive a call from one of our representatives concerning taking a tour of one of our resorts.
We do not buy nor sell your information to anyone. It also states that by filling out the entry form that you are giving us permission to call you EVEN if you are on the Do Not Call list. We adhere to the strict policies of the FCC and the better business bureaus ( The BBB is basically a useless entity in it's self, due to the fact that you pay to be a member. the more you pay, the better your rating) And the reason we don't leave messages is because that anyone can check an answering machine, so if someone other than the person that ACTUALLY filled out the entry form would happen to check it and delete it, there's goes a potential winner and customer down the drain. We DON'T ask you for any info. we are just verify what's already on the form, which YOU filled out to begin with. It is the most cost-effective way to market the resorts. Basically word of mouth advertising. We don't charge you for the tours, there are no hidden cost for taking the tour. as far as the AWARDS  are concerned you don't win the awards you EARN them by taking the tour of the resort, You are under no obligation to purchase ANYTHING at anytime to receive these AWARDS. Listen I am not telling anyone to stop filling out the entry forms, I am just saying that you should completely read the form before you do fill it out. We as a company have to abide by all FCC rules and regulations. As far as the rudeness is concerned, I personally will and have fired people for being rude to the customers ( There's always a bad apple or two in any business and we and I do are absolute best to weed out the bad ones. So if you happen to receive a call from us go ahead pick-up the phone and listen to what we have to say, you might just find yourself 25k richer. And besides the Resorts are top-notch camping resorts that just may interest you. Believe me folks we work our tails off to make a living and to ensure that your visit is a pleasant one.

This is not a scam this is how we do are advertising for the resorts. We are just hoping people like "us" and come back out and have some fun. But if you are not a outdoors kinda person. Then i know you are not going to like it. But people who are, will like us. So to the ones who does like us "thanks" for coming out. The ones who doesn't i'm sorry its not your cup of tea. Maybe you are the type of person who likes sitting at home with a good book. But for the rest we have to be out doing something. That's what the resort is for. For people to get out and do something with there lives and just have fun doing that. On that note don't judge us by what people say, come out and see for yourself then make your judgement. Because if we listen to what everyone says and don't experience it for ourself then life would be very dull. Almost like being android. Doing what everyone tells ya what to do. WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THAT. EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOU. NOT THEM.

I signed up to win a car at the mall also, and was contacted by Cardida. However, upon touring their resort, I was very impressed by what they had to offer. I signed up for the vacation/resort timeshare and have been very pleased. If you like to travel and get away for a while this is NOT a bad offer. If you're not into traveling, I can see why you would be annoyed. But I have used the resort several times and enjoyed every minute of it. I took one vacation so far using the timeshare and was very happy with the savings on airfare, hotel and car rental. You're not limited to one location for your timeshare, you can travel anywhere in the world. This is NOT a scam, Cardida really does have something nice to offer. Give them a break...

Well after doing a lot of investigating and seeing how many complaints there are about this company, I hope to get to the bottom of it all. I am in the process of securing an attorney to represent my sister who has been hassled relentlessly by this company, bullied into a $500 deposit but then deprived of ever being able to use the membership! To top it off, she was sent a registered letter yesterday stating that she was being taken to court by the Cardida Group for a $5k membership that she supposedly committed to and that her wages would be garnished!

If Cardida was a smart and valid business operation they would have done a credit check and realized that my sister (God lover her) was not a qualified customer for this sale and there is no way that a $5k commitment could ever have been honored on the $260 a week salary that she earns!!!

Shame on The Cardida Resort Group for following the same business model as all of the greedy Mortgage Lending groups that are the cause of our now ruined economy!! I believe that Cardida preyed on a single Mom's dream to have something nice for once!! We will see them in court!!!

Hello all disgruntled owners and members,
We all turn to attorneys thinking that we can trust those who are unlicensed by any branch of the state government. Would you trust your life with an unlicensed doctor? How about your new home being built by scab labor with no license? I have seen many of these situations over the years, before you consider even talking to an attorney, consider three things. Cost, Cost, Cost! Who wins in the end? If you sue the developer, your suing yourself in this matter. Monies will be taken from what your resort has to work with now. The biggest concern is the attorney. If you really think sales people lie, think again. You have "no" legal recourse against an attorney who will benefit more than any member or owner. Best results will be, force company into bankruptcy, attorney gets paid, you loss everything you have invested in the resort and resort is sold to new owners. NOW HOW SMART is that? You really need to address your issues in writing to the corporate office. If you would like to test my analogy, file suit against any attorney and see if you can beat the system of the brotherhood. What you will find out real fast, is YOU DON"T HAVE A CHANCE! Attorney's today are concerned about one thing and one thing only, THEIR WALLETS! If being an attorney is such a great service and profession, why are they "NOT" licensed by a "BRANCH" of the state government like "ALL" other "LEGAL" professions?

I have heard the same thing as well.  There is a group that hired a lawyer and are filing a class action lawsuit against the resort.  We could always get another group up and going and hire another lawyer. If you have a group it makes the lawyer costs cheaper.

People need to realize they usually are going to get something cheap as a prize when going to a sales pitch like this.  They should also figure on some very high pressure sales tactic.  Though sometimes they have been unethical in the fact they pressure people who they know cannot afford it but will do anything to make a sale.  If people knew this was against the law and that there is a law that states if you knowingly sell someone this who you know cannot afford it they are in violation and if more people knew this they could get out of the mess and get there money returned.  Check with an attorney if you are in this situation.
Grand haven was a good place but this new company Legacy developement is taking it down fast.   They are mistreating deeded interst owners.  They have so many members fuming right now.  They try to get members down there to give up there deeds and pay over 4000.00 to boot for a 99 year lease and promise you a chance to do away with your maintenance fees if you can con two other suckers into buying a 99 year lease from them.  If you do not wish to go along with their scheme they treat you like you are a D.A. and tell you they will throw assessments on you and raise the fees and make lots of money off you.  Highly unethical and should be and most likely against the law.
I would like for an employee or management get on here and defend there actions.  They seem to wish to keep important information as to minutes of the board away from members. WHY?? Is there something to hide.  No wonder many of the members are seeking attorneys to file a lawsuit. I read somewhere of a class action.I suggest all who feel as though they were mistreated to find out what their rights are.  As I understand it the State Attorney Generals office has been notified.  The BBB has numerous complaints and other blogs tell of lawsuits happening.  It is unfortunate this new company is coming in and doing this.  They have already taken some of the benifits that we had as soon as they took over as well as nearly doubling some of the rates.  How do they sleep at night!  It is good to see that maybe people will now be taking a stand and standing up for their rights against the new owners and the old as I have heard it still may have an interest in it.  Perhaps the employee can get on here and clarify things. Better yet how about someone in managent addressing this.  To the supposed emplyee who responded here pass that along to your upper management.

Hi,  I was interested in finding out if the attorney you hired was able to help your sister.  It is my understanding in Ohio if you sell something to someone that they know cannot not afford it that the contract can be voided by law. I have heard of several lawsuits being filed against this outfit for less than ethical practices..

I purchased this membership and I have not used it or gotten my money's worth. I feel I was treated dishonestly.  I recently became aware of a group of around 20 people who are pursuing legal options to try and prevent this from happening to others in the next few weeks.  If you are a member of Grand Haven and would like more information about this, please email bcs@uweekly.com.  This is an urgent matter and will be acted upon in the next few weeks.  Please respond by August 1st.  If after August 1st you can respond as well and I can keep you updated on the progress.

My wife and I made the mistake of getting involved with this group three years ago. It is a total waste of money but we are struck with the agreement right now. We are checking with an attorney to see what are options are. We have paid in over 4500.00 and gotten less than 300.00 dollars value. It is a big rip off and urge anyone who gets the offer to hang up and put these people on do not call register. They will even come back at you for a second time if you let them. This is a real scam be careful.

I would like to correct my statement, we pay $130/mo. for 1 yr. and then the $332 ea. year after that. I would think that one vaction rental on the beach each year would be worth more than that, and it just depends if you want to travel, or just get away once in a while, or for the summer...do any of those things and it will be worth my $332 and then some. Thanks Laura

My husband and I just received a phone call from these folks.  To make a long story short, hubby was actually falling for it and asked if I wanted to go to their place next Monday night.  I told him to ask a few questions, get the name and number of the guy, and that we'd look into it.  (I told him that I thought it just might be a SCAM, so we should look into it and call them back.)  He collected a name and number, said he'd call back, and hung up the phone.  Then, we did an Internet search, and found this site (among many others) that all said the same things.  Thank you Internet! Thank you people!  Thank you freedom of speech!  You saved us from who knows what.

After reading many postings from frustrated people, I thought I'd share the details that I collected.  If you like the idea of dishing back a taste of what they did to you...be it lost or wasted money, wasted time, or an annoying phone call...perhaps you might want to call Mike from Candida Corp Awards Center, asking him to buy some of your daughter's girl scout cookies (at least they taste pretty good).  740-439-0810.

P. S.  I love the posting I read about a guy that told them that he lived out of his car which made them stop calling his cell phone.

I can understand why some don't like their phone tactics for getting business. but really, you signed an entry form that you more likely didn't READ in the first place and you were put on their mailing list. That's reality.  If they call, tell them to put you on the their DNC list.  That simple. In reality, the resort is nice if you like to camp.  I just stayed there this weekend for the first time and was very impressed.  Camp ground was nice and quiet, lots of activities, buildings were all new or newer, the shower houses were nice and clean. I can't complain.  Yes you pay a yearly fee, but add it up folks, what OHIO state park can you go to for under $35 a night that has these amenities and Big Joe is lurking around the corner!!  You get 15 free camping uses. That comes out to about $23 a night to pay off your year fee then it's about $3 a day! I'll take $3 any day and twice on Sunday.
